>> the stockton unified school district is promising to beef up security on campus after a random deadly attack. a 15 euros student was stabbed and died at a local hospital. the motive is under investigation. >> health officials in new jersey are investigating a cluster of cancer cases. more than 100 people from the same high school have been diagnosed with a brain tumor over the last 30 years. that includes a man, his wife and his sister. they were all diagnosed with brain tumors later in their lives.

a federal judge in florida struck down the mandate saying it was unlawful. >> many passengers found out about the reversal when they are in the air. >> it will go off like this. i do require every passenger on my aircraft to treat each other with kindness and respect. >> that was the announcement on a southwest flight yesterday. all of the major domestic airlines have made masks optional. cdc is recommending that people continue to wear masks on public transit. >> uber is no longer requiring riders or drivers to wear masks. it is also updating the no front seat policy. uber says you should still give your driver space. they asked riders to only use the front seat if it's needed because of the size of your

group. the policy was put into effect at the start of the pandemic. >> we are digging into what this means for public transit in the bay area. >> we are hearing from bart that they are still talking this over. we did hear a report go out from bart police that said they would not be enforcing the mandate anymore. a spokesperson says the official agency word is they are still talking this over. the mask requirement from the federal government did cover mass transit. now the judge has ordered that it be dropped. bart still talking over what to do. here are some thoughts from passengers about masks. some saying they are going to keep them on anyway. >> i think i will, just because it makes other people feel comfortable.
