local -- with a local clinic waiting to vaccinate children. we have more. reporter: yes, they are the only group not authorized to get vaccinated. i spoke with the chief of pediatric pulmonary at a hospital who said the fda is taking the time to check the efficacy and safety data. the authorization for a covid-19 vaccine for children younger than five could be around the corner. >> some are waiting to see. reporter: doctors at the clinic in san francisco have been vaccinating children five and older, but now, gearing up for 4000 patients between six months and four years old, the age group that would qualify once the fda gives the green light. >> we will roll out our saturday clinics. when it comes out, we will have staff and have some saturdays to

help us. we will start scheduling as soon as we can and when the vaccine will be in the office. reporter: these doctors are on standby. that is the same feeling they have been faced with. their two-year-old is not vaccinated. >> it is the missing loop for us. we have an older son who hasd dd we vaccinated and boosted so he is the last piece of the puzzle. reporter: according to a top official, the vaccine for this age group could be authorized as early as june. one daoctor at stanford explains what the fda is tracking before they make a decision. >> [indiscernible]

handled the situation well. >> what we have seen is threats can sometimes lead to actual violence. i am relieved that nothing escalated and that people are safe and this young man will get help,avenrs da today, the university brought mental health experts on campus to assist anyone. kristen: on capitol hill, kevin mccarthy is being undercut by his own words. he is providing no comment after previously denying reports he had discussed encouraging president trump to resign after the january 6 insurrection. newly released audio from the new york times appears to show those claims were full. our reporter from our sister station has the story. reporter: new reports on the january 6 attacks is questioning kevin mccarthy's honesty.

the new york times reported he had urged president trump resign after the capitol riot. mccarthy denied it. now his own voice is contradicting him. >> i am going to call him. reporter: that recording captured him talking on the phone with liz cheney days after the attack. the conversations detailed in the upcoming book, this will not pass. he goes on to say in the call that he feedar trump would be impeached and removed from office. >> the discussion with him is this will pass and it would be my recommendation that that's -- that would be my take, but i don't think he would take it, but i don't know. reporter: and now another recording. >> i have had it with this guy. what he did was unacceptable. nobody can defend that. nobody should defend it. reporter: telling other

republicans on january 11 that president trump admitted that he bore some responsibility for the attacks. >> i asked him today does he have responsibility for what happened? does he feel bad about what happened. he says he does have some responsibility for what happened. he needed to acknowledge that. reporter: three weeks after the riots, mccarthy with a quick vivid, smiling and standing side-by-side with trump and mar-a-lago. president biden today with a quick reference to the maneuvering between trump, mccarthy, and republicans. pres. biden: this ain't your father's republican party. this is megan now. reporter: mccarthy silent, refusing to respond. it is unknown if he will address it tomorrow at the california republican convention, where he is slated to be the headliner. attendees say his criticism of trump will upset her blaine trump supporters. >> that will not sit well with

them and change their mind with the november elections. he will probably be the speaker in the house. he will have to learn how to work with donald trump. kristen: meantime, marjorie taylor greene of georgia testified for more than three hours today at a hearing that could prevent her from seeking reelection. challengers won her disqualified , citing her role in the january 6 insurrection. they pointed out how she posted messages and videos on social media leading up to january 6 and claimed the posts helped to fuel the attack, and therefore, she aided the insurrection. dan: the bay area lgbtq community is behind ukraine, raising money for some of the most marginalized and at risk. reporter visited with one vocal man who is helping to lead the way. reporter: he is making a lot of

calls to ukraine lately. he is worried about the war and its impact on the lgbtq plus community. >> i talked to my friends, gay, lesbians, family members who are lgbtq, almost every day. reporter: his biggest concern is word that russian troops are targeting lgbtq plus ukrainians. >> i have heard from friends that some people already disappeared. reporter: he has lived in san francisco for 20 years, managing the horror of what is happening in his homeland by helping. >> the only salvation is to do something. reporter: he has been focusing on raising funds, generating interest in his own unique way. >> what i do is put the ukrainian national outfit every weekend and i go to every fundraiser i can get my hands on. reporter: helping to raise tens of thousands of dollars, the

money going to nonprofits in ukraine. he is one of the directors. >> we have -- help the community to survive and stay alive. reporter: the nonprofit provides everything from food to shelter, explaining often that lgbtq plus ukrainians are estranged from family and telling us about trends women trying to flee, being stopped at the border because her ids identified him as men, meaning they have to stay and fight. >> i can only imagine how hard it was for those people because the situation is terrible as it is. reporter: and he fears the community is a target. >> the russian army and soldiers are in any of the cities and they know someone by name and by face from the lgbt community, those people will be tarted directly. -- targeted directly. dan: let's turn to the weekend weather forecast. kristen: it's looking sunny, but

dan: new details about the man punched by mike tyson on an airplane. he has a long criminal history. this happened wednesday night. tyson was getting ready for the flight to take off. in this video, he can be seen punching up passenger behind him. he is from florida and was listed as having habitual felony offender status in 2019 when he was sentenced to 25 months for grand theft. tyson's publicist says townsend was harassing mike tyson and through water bottle at him. kristen: we know skydiving can be scary. what about flying an airplane, jumping out, then skydiving into another moving airplane? dan: that is the plan for two cousins, red bull air force pilots. the stunt will be live-streamed
