requirement for public transportation and airplanes all of the bay area's transit agencies then followed the guidance from the tsa to stop enforcing the mandate. stanford nurses have scheduled a bargaining session for tuesday with the hospital, but it appears or it stays for now. they still will be going on strike monday on the union's website. it says it is committed to avoiding a strike but must address the issues that are important to its members. the nurses are seeking wage increases along with bonuses and mental support if there is a strike. thousand nurses would be on the picket line come monday morning now with san francisco trying to town favorite is closed its doors after nearly three decades in business saturday was the last day of operation for washington bakery and restaurant. the family owned. cafe was a chinatown staple for the last 27 years famous for its pineapple buns locals say they're sad to see it go. it's really bittersweet. my husband has been coming to this establishment since he was

weekend and better than ever it has. managed to survive sadly that's not the case with the gilroy garlic festival, which has gone for good abc 7 news reporter. tim jones was in petaluma for the event. the streets of petaluma were alive once again on saturday for the city's annual butter and egg festival. i am so excited and delighted. i've been i couldn't even sleep last night because i was so excited to be here today after the pandemic induced break the event was back in full swing this year. it feels normal. this weekend's event marks the festival's 39th year running a celebration of the city's rich agricultural heritage. 1848. san francisco only had about 700 people. and after the gold rush is swelled to 25,000 people without any farms to feed them which is how petaluma became very very wealthy and well-known, but while the butter and egg festival is i mean once again in other parts of the bay area separate festivals are having a

leslie. brinkley has our details on the history of the house and the apparent reason it was tagged. the ucef the president purchased this historically significant julia morgan mansion for 6.5 million dollars last week as a new residence for the uc president then over the weekend. it was tagged with the words save rochdale. apparently referencing rochdale village apartments near peoples park, which provides affordable co-op housing to hundreds of underrepresented students and faces a lack of funding for a seismic retrofit. the home was built in 1928 by the found. of glide memorial church in san francisco, it was designed by architect. julia morgan who is one of the first women to graduate from uc berkeley school of engineering and went on to create storied buildings from the greek theater to hearst castle. you see on the homes for decades and sold it in 1991 now buying it back with private not taxpayer dollars the uc office

serving senator ever and the longest serving republican in senate history this weekend firefighters were battling multiple wildfires in the southwest high temperatures and high winds are blamed for at least a fires in several states in arizona and new mexico the flames have scorched roughly 174 square miles dozens of homes have been destroyed and countless others are threatened colorado's department of public safety saying the dry conditions are only getting worse. so i think we should be concerned. our drought conditions are such that it's it's a high fire danger. they have gotten progressively bigger progressively worse progressively more in the just in the last several years. evacuation orders have been lifted in colorado fire crews have partially or fully contained at least seven wildfires. in san francisco's presidio, the historic battery bluffs open to the public saturday. it is a six-acre open space

light flashing and stopped signed arm out as it was picking up kids earlier this week this 80,000 pound tractor trailer was going 45 miles per hour and wasn't able to stop that's when the driver started honking. he picked up truck on the other side of the street backed up with just enough space for the trailer to maneuver around the bus the driver told police the went out he was able to stomp about a quarter mile down the road. and a heart gripping moment captured on camera this weekend the rescue of a one-year-old child from a burning building. in orlando, florida a mother on her toddler were trapped on their third story balcony saturday with a fire fire burning inside their apartment deputies scaled the balconies and the child's mother was able to hand the girl to a deputy fire crews and used a ladder to rescue the child's mother and grandmother the beauty who saved the child has been with the sheriff's office for less than two years.

also in florida some unwelcome visitors have made themselves at home in venice at least. two large alligators have been strolling through some of the neighborhoods one was spotted on easter walking across a lawn and then taking a break on the driveway. you see it right there. the gators are estimated to be at least 10 feet long. there could be a pretty simple explanation for the recent sightings. it is mating season right now. and here at home in the bay area hundreds of san francisco's in their furry friends. turned out to dubose park saturday for the return of dog fest the event included several different contests including best trick featuring charlie the french bulldog. he wasn't quite able to destroy that cardboard box in 30 seconds though prizes were given out for the best costume best tail and best in show the event is a fundraiser benefiting mckinley elementary school now skydiving can be scary. what about flying a plane jumping out of it? and then diving into another
