supreme court leak shedding light on battle of the high court in the draft decision that could overturn roe v. wade. kumasi: the u.s. surgeon general delivering a message about the pandemic in san francisco and his words about recovery after two years of isolation. julian: sunny and warmer weather moving into the 80's today. kumasi: i neighborhood on high alert after this bear was spotted roaming city streets. good morning, it's tuesday, may 3. julian: thanks for being with us on this tuesday and let's start off with a look at the accuweather forecast. lisa: somebody is excited. we will warm up today significantly and we are seeing a wind ship. this is a classic ridge of high pressure off sure that is building in and that will allow for the warmth.

jobyna: those who follow the supreme court say this leak of a majority draft opinion of this magnitude is remarkable. it is not the final word in demonstrator shut up outside the supreme court in washington, d.c. after the lid ago obtained documents from a person familiar with the courts proceedings. this is centered on the case of the mississippi ban on abortion after 15 weeks. the opinion was labeled a first draft but in this draft, the apparent author, justice samuel alito writes that roe was egregiously wrong from the start. this >> ought to be a decision left to every american to make for themselves, not a decision that is limited and restricted a freedom that is taken away by a supreme court. jobyna: planned parenthood tweeted that this is a draft of pinyon and its outrageous and unprecedented that it's not final.

abortion is your right and it is still legal. the draft opinion leak comes as states across the country have started passing restrictive abortion measures many congressional democrats are now calling for congress to pass legislation to protect abortion rights by codifying them into federal law. julian: thank you. there is reaction pouring in response to the draft decision. in san francisco, the party for socialism and liberation is running together at market street at 5 p.m. in the group is organizing similar events across the country. kumasi: santa clara county could boost funding for abortion services in the area. there is a pushback against ranking of abortion rights and other u.s. states. amy: just as parts of the country prepare to have the right to an portion possibly taken away, in this out bay, they are ramping up to help

planned parenthood offer more abortions. santa clara county supervisors announced a plan to try to secure another $3 million for planned parenthood in san jose, saying they expect to see more women coming to california for abortions as other states shut down the procedure. >> the money will be used to strengthen access to services from abortion services and health services for women in our community, those who live in our community and those who are coming from out of state who need abortion services but can no longer get them in their states because of a growing restriction. amy: the supervisors announced the plan before news of the roe v. wade vote was leaked step they were reacting to the fact that san jose clinics have already seen women coming from across the country because of restrictions in their states. they plan to vote on this idea to increase funding in their
