just outside of san francisco and with temperatures in the low 60's on top of mount diablo. we have a little bit of cooling as we get towards sunrise and another -- in another 15 minutes. temperatures are within a few degrees of yesterday. we will be 60 by 9:00, partly cloudy by the bay. temperatures will be climbing throughit will be cool at the c, may be 60 with breezy winds. our slow climb starts today with temperatures coming up a few degrees inland. we will see more dramatic warming in a few -- , which i will detail in a few minutes. liz: other members of the catholic community are responding.

tim johns spoke with some to get their take on the archbishop's decision. >> one issue seems to be top of mind for many in the community. on friday the a archbishop issued a statement barring nancy pelosi from receiving communion. >> all of nancy's fellow catholics love her but this is a situation where tough love is needed. >> she says she supports the archbishop's decision and says she believes it is in keeping with the laws of the church. >> we cannot leave a part of it and reject a part of it. >> nancy pelosi cannot receive communion in san francisco, but she could receive it in other dioceses. >> it just seems very much like

he is singling her out and trying to make an example of her in the most on pastoral and spiritually -- unpastoral and spiritually violent way possible. >> she points to a vote by american bishops that fell short of denying communion to president biden. she worries that the archbishop's decision could end up doing more harm than good. >> it will alienate catholics who are already alienated. >> in san francisco, tim johns, abc 7 news. liz: a manhunt is underway for three men accused of pistol whipping and robbing a woman. this happened around 10:30 friday night. she was forced into a green

sedan, robbed,, beaten, and then left. on the street the victim was taken to the hospital for her injuries. residents near vacaville are allowed to return to their homes after fire broke out. evacuation orders were issued to some residents in the area. firefighters have made progress. there are no reports of damages from the flames. wildfire season has arrived in the bay area. our reporter went to a fire ready resource fair in the north bay. >> i am concerned for my family but to be informed for my neighborhood. >> there is a weekly test. jennifer was checking out the fire ready resource fair in

than a month early this year due to increased fire danger in the bay area. >> i cannot imagine being surrounded by fire. >> antoine jenkins just moved to santa rosa from texas. >> people need to know what to -->> we are not just sitting bk and doing nothing. >> the santa rosa fire department has declared june 6 the start of fire season. cornell barnard, abc 7 news. liz: a wildfire burning in yuba county is now 70% contained. the golden fire has burned more than 20 acres near kempton ville on federal land inside tahoe national forest. the cause of that fire is still under investigation.

this is the kind of fire authorities do not usually see this early in the season. >> this early spring stuff is different than what we use to see in this area. liz: the highway remains closed north of grass valley. it has led to evacuations. a brush fire that forced evacuations in mendocino county is affecting air quality here in the bay area. the ones fire started near point arena. it is now 60% contained. smoke from that fire could impact air from the north bay to the pendency allowed. a lot of fire danger this weekend. drew: we will have -- lisa: we will have the sea breeze keeping us cool. it will get really hot.

coming bicyclist from san francisco has been shot to death in austin, texas. the suspect is on the run in what investigators are characterizing as a love triangle. wilson had been in a brief relationship last year with armstrong's boyfriend. wilson was in austin for a race. the boyfriend said he had been dating armstrong for 3 years and that -- a security guard who died in the mass shooting at a buffalo supermarket is being honored this week. aaron salter junior received a post-humanist degree in communications. salter put his decree on halt for work. his son accepted the degree on his behalf. >> i know that would make him
