lgbtq plus members of the sheriff's department are disappointed parade organizers will not let law enforcement officers march in uniform at this year's parade. >> we want to be able to show the numbers of our community. there are people just like you who put on these uniforms every day and are out there to help, support and protect. reporter: now, the fire department says it also will not march in the parade unless police are allowed to wear their uniforms. >> we need to allow the public to see our uniformed law enforcement officers are good. they do reflect our community. reporter: suzanne ford is the executive director of sf pride. >> they can marching t-shirts that say sf police or sf county sheriff's department, that is fine. but no full uniform. reporter: in 2019 protesters blocked the parade route. >> we were trying to de-escalate with them, there was unrest and

the police came in. a couple members of our community were injured. reporter: leaders reacted by creating the new policy, following the lead of other cities across the country, limiting officers in uniform. new york city banned officers from participating in its parade , ford said the decision was made to respect the broader community, particularly people of color, who do not always have positive opinions or interactions with police. >> the presence of the police in the parade is difficult for them , given their history with the police department. so, we want to honor, make sure we protect and make people feel safe. reporter: law enforcement says it to wants to make people feel safe and accepted. >> over the years, it has been lgbtq officers who have driven reform, improvement, diversity measures within the department, making policing better. kumasi: new this morning, pfizer

has released new data on its covid vaccine for children six months under five years old. the company says the three dose vaccine was 80% effective against the medic covid infection. the child was not big enough to estimate protection against severe disease, which they predict to be higher. vaccines are expected to be authorized for the youngest americans in june or july. reggie: the first batch of baby formula under fly formula is now in the u.s., more planes are expected to arrive in the coming days and weeks. these deliveries are arriving as the shortage gets worse. jobina: the operation brought in 78,000 pounds of formula over the weekend, that is enough to feed 9000 babies and 18,000 toddlers for a week. the formula is going to hospitals and doctors to distribute to parents whose babies are allergic to cow milk protein. at least for infants and south carolina were recently hospitalized due to the

ryan curry is digging into this investigation and joining us live. >> a big scene on sunday with those two people dying in that accident. authorities say the taxi drove onto the sidewalk that happened just after 4:30 sunday afternoon near mission and 3rd street. police say both the taxi and another car were heading into the intersection at the same time, officers blocked off traffic in the area for several hours to investigate. you can see the taxi there. witnesses they recall seeing people near the instant, distraught over what happened. the supervisor and the district says there has been in an unfortunate amount of traffic accidents. >> you hear people saying oh my god, this is terrible. i heard people in the apartments screaming, very scared. >> this neighborhood is disproportionately afflicted by traffic accidents. sadly, this is one that happened . our hearts go out, there are two

fatalities here today. >> you can see the residue of that accident, police say they do not think drugs or alcohol played a factor, nor do they think road rage contributed to the incident. the taxi driver is in the hospital and in stable condition , authorities say it will take time to figure out what exactly let up to the incident. reggie: really scary, thank you. this morning, a search for woman accused of murdering a professional cyclist. the two are ld by the ts bfriend.bina has the details. texas authorities are looking for woman who they say killed a world-class cyclist. caitlin armstrong is wanted for homicide, investigators say wilson had been in a relationship with armstrong's boyfriend, a fellow cyclist. armstrong found out back in january. police say she became angry after learning the former couple

secretly met up to go for a swim. earlier this month, a friend of wilson's came home and found her unconscious and bleeding after being shot. >> just kind of stunned. tragic. you want to hug people you love. jobina: according to the affidavit, armstrong's car was recorded on a ring to cameron wilson's neighborhood around the same time she was killed. soon after police questioned armstrong, they say she disappeared. if each of task force fears she may have left the country. strickland says he had a brief romantic relationship with wilson last year during a break with armstrong, but says he reconciled with armstrong and has kept a quote atomic and professional relationship with wilson. kumasi: in the east bay, this woman is wanted in connection with a sexual assault on the campus of piedmont high school. police released at these photos in investigators say the woman

assaulted a 17-year-old boy on thursday afternoon near the high school gym. if you know who this woman is, you are asked to call police. reggie: masks are back at east school district. berkeley unified says it has evidence covid is spreading in the classroom. amy hollyfield's life -- is live. amy: almost at the finish line here, with two weeks left in school. berkeley officials have decided those two weeks will be filled with masks. berkeley administrators decided to start requiring masks again in schools, starting today. that will impact nearly 10,000 kids here in the district. they will be required to mask up until the end of the school year. administrators say they are doing this because of the rising covid cases. one teacher we spoke with says she think this is a good idea. >> i am really grateful. there are two weeks left in the school year, i love my students dearly. they love each other.

i want to spend her last two weeks together. i don't want anybody in my class to miss out on our fun stuff. >> the goal is to keep everyone healthy and have all of those students attend graduation ceremonies, they have earned the right to do so. amy: they will be handing out take test kits to seniors so they can test for covid before the graduation ceremonies. the school district says they have noticed there are clusters of covid cases in some classrooms, they believe transmission is happening at school. they have two weeks left to go, the mandate will be in place until the last day of school. amy hollyfield, abc7news. reggie: a new fear over the global monkeypox outbreak. over 190 cases have been found in countries where the virus is not normally found, including the u.s. it has been 20 years since a cluster of monkeypox cases are identified in the u.s.,

president biden says we have resources to deal with the outbreak. experts say the disease should be monitored but it is low risk and treatable. >> we know how to treat this if people get seriously. for example, we haven't antiviral -- have an antiviral, we have antibodies that can be deployed if needed. we have a vaccine we can use in the general population. reggie: the risk of death is very low, symptoms are similar but more mild than smallpox, including rash, fever, swollen lymph nodes and exhaustion. kumasi: president biden is in japan announcing a new trade partnership aimed at preventing more supply chain issues like the one we have seen during the pandemic. we have the details. reporter: president biden in japan on the second leg of his first trip to asia as president, appearing to deviate from long-standing policy with a strong message of support for taiwan.
