president joe biden and the first lady will travel to uvalde texas today. they plan on meeting this tuesday with the families of victims survivors and first responders of the shooting massacre the shooting at rob elementary school took the lives of 19 children and two teachers abc news reporter christine. sloan has the latest today president biden and first lady dr. jill biden will travel to uvalde texas as the community continues to grieve the 21 lives lost in a horrific school shooting memorials continue to grow as the recovery continues for those hurt in the attack among them noah orona video shows him at an awards ceremony at rob elementary before the shooting. he was later shot. the bullet went through his black and out his shoulder his parents. say he played dead while waiting more than an hour for help. he saw his teacher get shot in and land on top of one of his class.

mates, i'm not sure who at this point for sure, but the other teacher was shielding that the children investigators say a teacher propped open a school door at 11:27, which the shooter used to enter the school at 11:33. he targeted classrooms 11 and 11. 12 two minutes later seven uvalde police officers are inside the school, but did not breach the classroom officials say school district police chief pete arredondo wrongly believed it was no longer an active shooter situation, but a barricaded subject, but from 1203 to 1247 students were dialing 911 from inside the classroom begging for help meantime 19 officers were in the hallway outside those classrooms. it wasn't until 12:50 that authorities used a key to enter the classroom and killed the shooter the district trained for this type of situation back in march practicing scenarios and

district. attorney jason boudin supporters of the recall rallied in chinatown's portsmouth square on saturday. urging voters to support measure age some of them included family of crime victims in the city participants there say boudini is not doing his job. he doesn't understand his duty as a district attorney and therefore we're here to let people know that we will not stand for that and we need to recall him as soon as possible. crosstown the district attorney and his supporters defended his record. they held a rally urging voters to reject measure age. the pro recall folks are scapegoating and they are fear-mongering exploiting very real frustration and anxiety that we all share over how the last two years have gone and they're lying and suggesting that recalling me is going to solve those problems. election day is on june 7th, but early voting is well underway right now in san francisco. okay, voting in person is now available in santa clara county for the june 7th primary we're talking about vote center hours

are nine to five every day locations will also be open on memorial day tomorrow in san francisco. this is the first weekend that the city hall voting center is open. it will be open next weekend as well san francisco city hall voting center is open from every weekday from 8 am to 5 pm in both santa clara county and san francisco voting centers are open from 7 am to 8 pm on election day and in person voting centers also open this week in san mateo. eight the chief elections officer tweeted that the san carlos library is among nine locations open for voters. he does suggest people vote early vote centers are open every day. okay, lisa pretty views this morning as we look outside. yeah, nice and sunny. the fog will be gone today, but coming back patchy right along the coast and that's going to keep the temperatures cool. it's only 59 yesterday half moon bay and this morning we do have some fog as you get further south along the san mateo coast

mid-40s, napa and fairfield. so it is a little cool out there 24 hours ago. we were warmer and were anywhere from two to four degrees cooler with eight degrees of cooling and napa and there is a bit of a breeze out there. not much right now, but it'll continue to increase you can see up in the north bay near santa rosa wind gusts of 31 miles an hour and those winds coming in faster 50 right now santa cruz in that pretty temperatures in the low 70s today. so clear this morning sunny and breezy to windy today if you're at the coast then near average temperatures tomorrow and today we'll be around average looking at the warming trend through wednesday, and then things really do change. here's a look at two o'clock where the winds are already quite gusty 20 to 40 miles an hour, especially along the marin county coast, but down through san mateo and then the breeze through the delta over into the east bay overnight still a little wind out there. so temperatures will be in and around agrees tonight and then looking at your 10 11 o'clock

dr. dimple patel of chicago says she never knew much about therapy or mental health. i didn't understand what the passion looks like or what anxiety looks like because mental health was never really talked about like, oh you're fine, but she realized she was struggling after a car accident forced the then 21 year old to take a step back from her. courses and stay home to recover didn't know that i was experiencing anxiety. i wasn't eating i wasn't sleeping. my heart was constantly racing so she's secretly started seeing a therapist. so afraid of being judged what other people are going to say speaking openly about mental health can often be considered taboo in the asian-american community sigma is definitely a really big issue some of that has to do with cultural values and priv. see and mental illness bringing sort of shame to oneself in one's family. another big contributor the model minority stereotype. this stereotype portrays

asian-americans as effortlessly successful as aapi we can internalize that stereotype and start to believe that we need to be perfect. patel's mother battled that stigma herself and never got the help. she needed dying by suicide in 2011 41% of asian americans are currently experiencing anxiety or depression symptoms and 62% of those diagnosed with mental health conditions need help accessing services. api right now are hurting. we are experiencing three crises at once the mental health pandemic that's happening right now, but also the rising tide of anti-asian hate crimes as well as sort of long-standing problems in the mental health system that don't need aapi where they're at. dr. jeffrey. liu says, there's a lack of translators in cross-cultural training in the mental health industry patel now doing her part to help bring more representation to the community as a therapist and advocate herself. that's why i shared smy story my
