san jose. 55 at the coast. look how much you can see from our sutra tower camera. rate visibility. temperatures are coming up from the upper 50's to the mid 60's by the delta. we will have some wind. while we were cooler a couple hours ago, we are making up for that without the wind right now as we warm up. the upper elevation north wind will be with us in the form of a sea breeze. liz: all right lisa, thank you. president joe biden and the first lady are in texas. they arrived in uvalde, just a few minutes ago. there is the president and the first lady. they are set to visit the memorial site at robb elementary school. the president and first lady will attend mass at sacred heart catholic church. they will meet privately with families of victims and survivors. the shooting took the lives of 19 children and two teenagers.

-- teachers. >> today, president biden and first lady dr. jill biden will travel to uvalde, texas, as the community continues to grieve the 21 lives lost in a horrific school shooting. memorials continue to grow as the recovery continues for those hurt in the attack. among them, noah. video shows him at an award ceremony at robb elementary, before the shooting. he was later shot. the bullet went through his back and out of his shoulder. his parents said he played dead while waiting more than an hour for help. >> he saw his teacher get shot and land on top of one of his classmates. i'm not sure who. >> the other teacher was shielding the children. >> investigators say a teacher propped open a school door at 11:20 seven, which the shooter used to enter the school.

at 11:30 three, he targeted classrooms 111 and 112. two minutes later, seven uvalde police officers were inside the school but did not breach the classroom. officials say school district police chief pete arredondo wrongly believed it was no longer an active shooter situation, but a barricaded subject. but from 12:03 to 12:40 seven, students were dialing 911 from inside the classroom, begging for help. 19 officers were in the hallway, outside those classrooms. it was not until 12:50 the authorities used a key to enter the classroom and killed the shooter. the district trained for this type of situation in march, practicing scenarios and utilizing the state's extensive course manual which advises first responders should not wait, saying the best hope the innocent victims have is that officers immediately move into action, adding a first responder unwilling to place the lives of the innocent above their own

safety should consider another career field. >> the head of the texas rangers was clear, these officers did not follow training. >> christine slo, abc news, new york. liz: this morning, chris murphy of kentucky says congress is in serious bipartisan negotiations about a new law, intended to reduce future killings. he told jonathan karl it is inconceivable to him that there has not been significant legislation to address gun violence in the 10 years since the sandy hook elementary school shooting. >> we need federal legislation. my hope is that this time is different. i get it. every single time after one of these mass shootings, there is talks in washington and they never succeed. but there are more republicans interested in talking about finding a path forward than i have seen since sandy hook. i may end up being heartbroken.

people get together for the unofficial start of summer this weekend? tim johns spoke to some infectious disease specialists. >> amid a surge in new coronavirus cases locally, governor gavin newsom among the latest of those infected. on saturday, his office released a statement, saying he was experiencing mild symptoms and would stay in isolation until thursday. the doctor is an infectious disease specialist. he said he expects governor newsom to be fine. >> we have a lot more tools. we know what the vaccines are good for. >> the bay area has seen a surge in infections over the past few weeks. expect for the peak to happen sometime in early june. despite the uptick in cases in our area, doctors say we have not seen a rise in hospitalizations. >> we are seeing the most profound decoupling we have -- we ever have in cases in hospitalizations. >> she believes that while covid

liz: a fire wiped out a house in oakley on saturday. one of the residence had to jump out of a window to escape the flames. firefighters ran into all sorts of obstacles and had to set up a relay system to get water onto the fire. the house is across from bethel island. tara campbell found out if this fire happened a few days later, the outcome may have been much different. >> flames ripping through and destroying a family home, just outside of oakley. east contra costa fire, called to the home around 5:30, saturday morning. >> cruz saw a fire from the first and second floor on the front side and neighboring side. >> brooke logan, making the jump from the second floor, escaping as the only home she never -- ever knew went up in flames. she lived here with her parents and fiance. >> i jumped off the back porch and that was it.

liz: people in oakland got their first look at a rover that is about to go on a water searching mission to the moon. the replica is now on display at the science center. nasa provided this video. viper is a mobile robot that will go to the moon's south pole to get a closer view of water ice that could be used to sustain them and exploration. viper is planned for delivery to the lunar surface late next year. astronomers say there might be a spectacular meteor show tomorrow night or early tuesday morning. there could be as many as 1000 shooting stars lighting up the sky for an hour. it also could be a complete dud. astronomers hope it will be something special. that is because it's parent's comment -- comet has been dissenter grating, which could result in an otherworldly light show. some say could last an hour or two. local astronomers say your best chance to see the meteor shower

we get the northerly winds coming out of the sacramento valley as pressure builds in. looking at the wind gusts could be over 35 miles per hour. that will drop the relative humidity below 15%. perhaps single digit territory. while we have the persistent on flow -- onshore flowing -- stinson is in the mid 60's. it will be about the same or a degree or two cooler from pacifica to the half bay. santa cruz, milder in the mid-70's. more low 70's from santa clara to san jose. warmer from gilroy. 77 and onto the peninsula, you get the breeze from palo alto. -- in palo alto. the sunset enrichment, it will be windy. mid 70's with the breeze around the bay here, where temperatures will be in the low 70's.

77 in santa rosa. inland, nice and clear and sunny with numbers at about 72 in richmond, el cerrito, low 70's. some did one in berkeley. more 70's from union city to san leandro, inland. temperatures in the upper 70's to near 80. here is the warm up, anywhere from 4:00 -- four to six degrees. the sea breeze kicks up and it will be warmer. i want to show you something that looks interesting. that is what we want to see by the end of the workweek. checking out a possibility of a little bit of moisture headed our way. there, we are stopping this saturday night. it does rain in june, if you forgot. we look at the totals, really stacking up in the pacific northwest. i see a little bit down through the city. 2011 comes to mind when we saw over an inch of rain in san francisco. in june. who knows? we will wait and see. upper 70's inland, brighter and windier.
