miles right now running a little bit warmer this morning compared yesterday. 50's if not low 60's on the board. not terribly chilly out there, but it will be a cooler afternoon on the way. here is a live look from the exploratorium camera showing you all the fog out there over the city. here is how the day is shaping up. we have at partly cloudy throughout the day. temperatures generally in the 50's, 60's and 70's by lunchtime. this afternoon is a breezy afternoon, also cooler compared to yesterday. the cooldown does continue for tomorrow as well before tracking though showers for the upcoming weekend. all of those details coming up in about eight minutes. kumasi: there is a major development in the case of a missing oakley woman who hasn't been seen since january. a person possibly connected to the case has been shot dead more than 600 miles away as police tried to arrest him for murder. police say they will have more information to share with us

later this morning. >> investigators and oakley are calling this a significant update to the case. this morning, we are learning a deadly pollution in kent, washington south of seattle may be linked to the investigation. a task force assigned to arrest wanted fugitives shot and killed a man they wanted to take into custody at an apartment complex in kent yesterday afternoon. the u.s. marshals service would only say the man is wanted in connection with a "california homicide." reportg is morni ain seattle is homicide is th of al she arresto violent turn law enforcement ofs knocked and announced at the residence. the suspect came to the door and charged officers with a knife. three different members of the task force open fire, striking the suspect.

>> that unnamed suspect died at the scene and this is a stunning turn of events because oakley police have never classified the case as a homicide, only as a missing person. she vanished on january 26 after seeing -- saying she was going to her ex-boyfriend's house. investigators found the missing woman's cell phone case last month and increased the reward for information leading to an arrest to $100,000. there is no word on the identity of the wanted fugitive shot and killed in washington. we will be there at today's news conference in oakley with investigators sharing more information about the disappearance. reggie: a second man has died from a shooting that happened seven months ago on a gilroy councilmembers property. four people were shot during a house party on halloween weekend last year. an 18-year-old died that night. a 19-year-old passed away just this past friday. the two other victims have recovered. the shooting happened at a property where the woman was later cited for several

violations. kumasi: another mass shooting is under investigation in tulsa, oklahoma. the gunman killed four people inside of a hospital. police say they found the man carrying a long rifle and a pistol on the second floor. he took his own life before police were able to take him into custody. >> we are an organization that believes in the power of prayer and there is nothing more this community can do for us than to pray for the families and the love the ones and the victims of this senseless act. kumasi: authorities have not identified the shooter but there are reports that he may have been targeting a specific doctor inside that facility. reggie: the weather conditions and aggressive firefighting have helped to slow the old fire in napa county. the fire has burned close to 600 acres and is now 30% contained. evacuated residents are back home what uneasy about the constant fire danger. >> i just move back, i don't really want to move again.

are waiting for it to come to the earthquake tracker right now. what i got from twitter is that it was a magnitude -- and this is preliminary, we know when we get these initial reports about earthquakes, they tend to refine them over the next couple minutes or so, that i am just looking at the usgs website right now. the initial reporting is that it was a 4.1 magnitude earthquake, a pretty strong quake that you just felt, one of the stronger ones we have felt over the past couple of years. more recently we felt one on the order of three or 3.5 in terms of magnitude, but if you are breaking up with us this morning, it was a 4.1 magnitude earthquake that occurred just near pittsburgh. we had a lot of people feeling it. we had people feeling it in belmont, martinez, so a lot of us may be waking up to that in san mateo as well, just waiting to get the information in from the usgs at this moment.

back to drew with more on the earthquake. drew: we just got in from the usgs. a lot of us may be waking up this morning feeling like you felt an earthquake and that is exactly what you felt. you can see this pulsating. right there. we felt it at about 5:07 a.m., about six minutes ago. it was a magnitude 4.1 earthquake. the depth is pretty deep but when you have a magnitude quake over about four, that is when you can feel it in a lot of spots. a lot of reports from martinez, concord, antioch, even parts of solano county. wouldn't be surprised if we start feeling this in discovery bay. if you are just waking up and joining us, you might have been woken up by some shaking, you are correct. we are going to get the map in in the next couple minutes or so about how far this was felt.

reggie: the u.k. throwing a once-in-a-lifetime celebration. queen elizabeth's platinum jubilee officially kicked off this morning. this is a live look at london where the festivities are well underway. thousands are gathering to commemorate her 70 years on the throne. the celebration will include everything from a birthday parade with the queen that a star-studded concert led by diana ross, to street parties across the country. inez is live in london with all the excitement. inez: good morning. so much excitement here, we just saw the royal air force flyover, which was really something. the nation celebrates 70 years of queen elizabeth. for the first time in history, british crown gearing up to celebrate a platinum jubilee.

queen elizabeth the second marking 70 years on the throne, the longest-serving british monarch. preparations for the next four days have been underway for weeks. kicking off today with the queen's birthday parade, what is known as trooping the color, a military ceremony where the queen can inspect the troops and later, she will light one of 3000 deacons around the country. despite recent mobility issues, the 96-year-old is expected to make two appearances. >> passing on some of the more physical work to the younger members of the royal family so she can really be as visible as possible throughout the platinum jubilee weekend. inez: we will also see her majesty's family. prince andrew will attend at least one event, as will harry and meghan. the pair touching down with their two children last night. the first time all four are back in england. >> for the queen, this is kind of a big family reunion. she gets to meet her namesake

really coming out of the east bay, but this was felt in a lot of spots. i want to zoom into a couple locations. the earthquake happened right underneath our banner, so you do feel moderate shaking and a lot of spots from richmond, berkeley. a lot of people are telling the on twitter they felt it in the hills. a lot of reports coming in from the oakland hills. concord, walnut creek. we even have reports in the city, some folks in the marina felted. along the peninsula, we have several reports. again, you look at the reports of your getting this morning, most people reporting weak to light shaking with this earthquake. as far south at the south bay has some reports, they felt some shaking, even a few reports in the north bay as well. i just want to show you the faultlines we have around the bay area. here is ready the earthquake was reported. the closest fault like we have to be earthquake, we will keep

they found most people who get covid test positive for longer than five days. 80% of cinematic people were still positive at five days. one third were positive at day 10. the cdc recommends people go back to work after five days of infection but one of the lead investigators of the study says that you can still be infectious even if you don't have symptoms. >> to the best of our knowledge, as long as you tested positive by antigen test, there is a high likelihood you are still infectious even at 10 days. kumasi: so when you're testing for covid, he is now recommending at home antigen tests instead of a pcr test, and he says pcr tests detect covid before symptoms appear, but the antigen test will let you know if you know if you're still infectious. we are tracking the very latest updates and headlines. just head to abc7news.c

om/coronavirus. reggie: four people murdered at a tulsa, oklahoma hospital. this one happened as bipartisan talks on gun reform continuing capitol hill. >> a bipartisan group of senators are reportedly making progress. the urgency is growing after yesterday's shooting in tulsa. the suspect killed at least four people at a building on the saint francis campus. several others were injured. investigators say the gunman took his own life when he was confronted by police. police are not at this time revealing a motive but a tulsa city councilmember tells a local news station the suspect may have been after a specific doctor. >> it is tragic that it happened in any town, and when it happens in our town, i am just glad that our officers got in their as quickly as they did. kumasi: the tulsa shooting

follows 15 mass shootings reported over the holiday weekend. and a week after 19 students and two teachers were shot to death at robb elementary school in texas. kumasi: happening tonight, the family of shawn mauck derosa will be holding a candlelight vigil to mark -- since the 22-year-old was shot and killed by police. the vallejo police chief originally said he wanted to terminate the officer who fired those deadly shots, that might not happen. an outside investigator found the officer violated policy, but recommended disciplinary action, not termination. they hope chief williams will remain his original intent to fire the officer. >> i think we are hopeful that he is going to continue to push for his termination. time and time again, we see that no officer is held accountable or responsible for there are --

actions. kumasi: the police she has to now decide to accept the recommendation or reject it and fire the officer. reggie: after many years, a police department is now one important step closer to no longer being under federal oversight. the department just entered a one-year transitional period. tim johns spoke with the police chief one-on-one about what that means. >> a monumental day not just for the police department, but the entire city of oakland. >> we police department entered the final stage one state to end its federal oversight. the department has been required to enact dozens of reform measures under the guidance of a federal judge and outside observers. at the time, opd was under heavy scrutiny after four officers were accused of brutalizing people on the street of some oakland neighborhoods. in a sit-down interview on wednesday, the police chief says the department of today is
