61% saying yes to the recall with 39% saying no, an estimated 33% of the total vote. this one was not close. speaking to supporters after they were -- after the results, boudin made it clear he will not stop the search for justice. >> he is the first district attorney to be recalled in san francisco history. while the recall succeeded, boudin said, "this is a movement, not a moment in history." >> i want to be very clear about what happened tonight. the right wing billionaires outspent us three to one. they exploited an environment in which people are appropriately upset. voters were not asked to choose between criminal justice reform in some thing else. they were given an opportunity to voice their frustration and their outrage, and they took

the rise of attacks against asian americans over the last few years. >> i was pushed into the streets in downtown. my mom was verbally assaulted on the streets as well. >> supporters say despite boudin's recall, san francisco stays a leader in criminal justice reform and this is still a progressive city as opposed to. a swing to the right. >>. we have the best example -- as opposed to a swing to the right. >> we have the best example of which justice reform. we hope this movement -- we helped this movement. >> governor newsom defeated a recall effort in september and last night, he crushed the field of nearly two dozen rye merry. you can see gavin newsom has 56% of the vote, with 96% estimated of the total vote against his competitor here. he's going to face him in november. in the race for attorney general, governors and --

governor newsom's appointee expected to advance to the november general election, and then a highly contested race in san jose we would like to share with you. the race for mayor. you can see 55% of the vote over the closest competitor, with 18% of the vote. cindy chavez in that mayoral race coming in with 39% of the vote. >> despite some big races in the south bay, voter turnout was low . the santa clara county registrar voters website listed turnout at around 18%. fewer than 200,000 ballots have been returned out of more than one million registered voters. those who took the time to vote in this election cycle say it is a privilege they would not pass up. >> to have my voice heard and hopefully see some change. >> i want more police on school campuses. i want to provide resources for

homeless. we have people who are mentally ill. we need to take care of them. >> the next update is expected at 5:00 p.m. today. >> san jose voters of womanly approved an effort to boost voter turnout. here are the results from the measure that would island the city's merrill -- city's mayoral elections with national election years. this would increase voter turnout among underrepresented groups. opponents worry that local issues would be lost in the national debate during a presidential election. >> more results in santa clara county now in the race for sheriff. rob johnson is in the lead with 34%, and kevin jensen with 30%. 90% of the estimated total vote is in. they would replace the embattled sheriff who has faced corruption

allegations within her department, and in the sarah clan to -- in the santa clara county das race, if we can pull up those results -- nope, that is the sheriff -- there is the d.a. jeff rosen with 59% of the vote and daniel chung with 24%. 90% of the vote in there. >> voters and several bay area counties have a district attorneys race on their ballots. here are the results in alameda county. , price in the lead with 40%, followed by terry riley with 31%. this is 100% of the estimated total vote here. no matter who ultimately wins, alameda county will be getting their first black d.a., so this is really a historic race. in contra costa county, the incumbent is running against one opponent, and you can see she is in the lead right now with 56% of the vote. in solano county, the incumbent running against one opponent here, sharon henry.

warm air. six teas and as we go hour-by-hour. it is a really nice morning. we just need that light layer, but you can get rid of it pretty early on throughout the day. i 2:00 p.m. come our warmest spots in the 70's and 80's, so not excessively hot i any means. warm and sunny midweek. 74 in oakland, but it is breezy across the city today. 82 in san jose, 87 in santa rosa, 90 in fairfield, about 74 in san mateo. looking at the next three days, today it is comfortably warm. tomorrow we are heating up pretty quickly. widespread 80's and upper 90's away from the coast, and then friday we are tracking a very hot day across the board. even the coast will feel warm in the 70's. around the bay shoreline we are going into the 80's and 90's, and we expect our hottest spots inland to meet or exceed 100 degrees. so an excessive heat watch will be in effect for a lot of us on friday. we will look at those details and preview the we can in about nine minutes, but first let's

thousands of fans are going to pack into the arena to cheer on the dubs like they have been all season long. ryan curry is live with what we can expect. >> good morning. without a doubt, this place is going to be rocking come game time in about 12 hours from now when that game kicks off around 6:00 p.m.. fans will be allowed inside to watch the game tonight, hopefully willing the team onto a much needed win back on the east coast. we know the warriors are no strangers to watch parties throughout this postseason. thrive city has been crowded so many times, and some of those parties got so crowded, security stopped letting fans and on some occasions. a few of them paid a lot of money for parking. to help alleviate some of those issues, the warriors decided to open up chase center for fans together and watch the game on the large monitoring the center of the arena. they will still have that watch party going on outside for fans

latest results in the 2022 primary election. here's a look at some of the statewide races and a congressional race. >> we are going to start with the gubernatorial race. gavin newsom coming in with 56.6%, total for the state. when we zoom into look specifically at the bay area, he does even better here, looking at 73% for alameda county. let's check in on san francisco county, 75%. the closest republican to him is going to be brian dolly at 6.8% when we look specifically at san francisco county, where governor newsom did perform the best. when we do totals again, looking at brian dolly around 16.7%. moving over to the california attorney general race, a little bit of a different story. this is where it gets interesting when we look at the

republican race. when we zoom into our area specifically for the bay area, check this out. we are going to poland alameda county, and then it switches, 10.6% over nathan hodgman. nathan hodgman jumps up top around 10%. that is something to look at. then we also want to check in on district 16 because this is who is going to replace congresswoman jackie spear. anna eshoo checking in. richard kumar, 15%. >> san francisco has voted to recall district attorney chesa boudin. 61% voting yes. he was elected i ocrinrefo

recall proponents say the city needs reform, but wouldn't -- but boudin was not adequately prosecuting criminals. he said that this was a movement, not a moment. >> we have already won because we have shown san francisco and the world that we do not need to rely on fear mongering or exploitation of tragedy to build safety. we have already won because even as our juvenile incarceration population fell by 50% and our adult jail population fell by 40% and our state prison population out of san francisco found=== -- out of san francisco county fell by 30% -- >> this is shaping up to be a sad election for civic engagement across california. analysts are predicting record low turnout for this primary.

as of this past weekend, just 13% of registered voters had turned in their ballots. according to the santa clara county registrar of voters, that may total 4% by the time all are totaled. >> it has actually been really quiet. gubernatorial elections are historically low turnout. right now we are only at 17% from this morning, but we are hoping to get 35% to 45% by the end of the election. >> santa clara county is the largest in the bay area, but the registrar says it is also the county with the largest percentage of people who vote by mail. they estimate 90% of residents use mail-in ballots, so there's typically low turnout for in-person voting. exact totals will be available later this morning. get updated election results online at abc7news.com/electo -- abc7news.com/election.

the regulators in the coming weeks so what will be available as a fall booster. >> knew details on a story we have been tracking for more than three years involving a family run bay area business accused of human trafficking and a labor scheme. the california attorney general's office announcing guilty verdicts in the raymo brighton best acacian. the family operated six adult and child care facilities called rainbow bright in pacifica, daly city, and south san francisco. from 2008 to 2018, members of the family forced employees to work long hours and live in the care homes, making them sleep on floors and in garages. some were raped. the ag's office says many of the victims were threatened with deportation. three men were so the family were convicted and will be sentenced in august. >> a grandmother who pled no contest to vehicular manslaughter and the death of a lafayette school crossing guard was sentenced. the judge sentenced phyllis

ramp-up. we will track that 80's and 90's away from the coast, and that it is a hot day on friday, tracking 90's around the bay shoreline and even 100 degrees in our warmest spots inland. a large portion of the bay area shaded in red will go under and excessive heat watch starting at 11 a. that just means with these hot temperatures, the risk for heat exhaustion or heat is elevated because of these warm conditions. we will to get closer look at these temperatures in about nine minutes, but first let's say good morning to jobina and see how we are doing in traffic this morning. >> my mom is from boston. they are known for their baked beans, which is weird, right? you would think it would be clam chowder. >> that's why they call it beantown? >> they kinda do, but it is not cute. i don't of that they necessarily embrace it. >> we are learning. we are growing. >> hey everybody. thankfully, no injuries involved here or anything like that, but this is in sunnyvale and it is going to slow you down on northbound 101.

a big rig apparently was carrying a lot of stuff, and then a tractor broke and it also into the roadway. not a great way for this person to start their morning. we do have another crash in san jose on northbound 101, involving multiple cars. you are looking at around 19 miles per hour for your speeds, and the we have some wind advisories for the antioch bridge and the bay bridge, but not the san mateo bridge. walnut creek looking great on 680. if you are looking to get a new clipper car, bay area transit officials say use the app version instead. they are waiving the three dollar fee because of supply chain shortages for the physical cars. the clipper app can be used in the same way to purchase tickets across the bay, which is pretty cool, and you save the planet by using less plastic. we will be right back.

the orioles will be letting fans inside -- the warriors will be letting fans inside to watch the team play. when they made this announcement for the indoor watch party, they did not into the pate that the outside watch parties would be so popular throughout the playoffs. now they are doing but they watch party inside the arena, as well as outside on the big monitor. tickets for the inside party or to five dollars. that money goes to the warriors community fund. outside is free, but the warriors ask that you register ahead of time. it will be crowded, so arrive early if you are attending. the warriors need a win on the road in order to win the finals, or else they won't win it. the team know the position they are and which is why the support from the fans means everything. >> just find a way to get it done and be in hostile environment where you get tested, you get pushed, and our experience kind of shows at the right time, so obviously in this
