a 16 year old boy was shot and killed in oakland tonight. it happened a few blocks away from mills college on 64th avenue around six o'clock this evening oakland police chief laurent. armstrong says they his injuries alongside another person who's now in stable condition. i think everybody should be concerned when a child is gunned down and i hope anybody who has any information related to this unfortunate homicide just like we do it every i hope they bring that information forward cannot allow people that engage in this type of violent. behavior remain in our community right now oakland police do not have any suspects, but do know a high-powered rifle was used in the shooting. the chief says he met with the victim's family and they are understandably distraught as you can imagine devastated in an effort to curb gun violence the oakland police department will hold its first gun buyback event in nine years this weekend.
