>> building a better bay area, link forward, finding solutions. this is abc 7 news. >> the warriors on the celtics ready to face off. tip-off that td garden is now less than 24 hours -- in less than 24 hours. they are only one win away from being crown champions. good evening and thank you for joining us. i am dan ashley. ama: i am ama daetz. dan: we have team coverage beginning with sports anchor chris alvarez. chris: what a ride it has been for the championship trio of stephen curry, klay thompson, and draymond green. in 2015, they won their first of three titles. it will be title number four. stephen curry taking some time to appreciate the u.s. open trophy. the major golf tournament being held just to down the road this week.

today, reminiscing on this decade-long journey together and a special moment on the trip to boston. >> it's funny. we were sitting on the plane yesterday and we sat at the same table. man, you guys are funny. y'all still sit together. he's like, y'all don't understand, 10 years, this does not happen. >> i don't want to see him too many times so that's funny. that happened two days ago. i was half-asleep. they were chatting their hearts away for six hours on the plane right. i was trying to get some sleep. good times. >> in the locker room, on the plane, at the hotels, whatever it is. we know how to have fun. and keep things light but also understand what we are trying to do and why it all matters in terms of winning games.

nba countdown. game six tips off at 6:00. keep it here for after the game. dan: more on the warriors in a few minutes. it is something parents have been waiting for. kids five years and younger are soon expected to be eligible to receive covid-19 vaccines. regulators took the first step towards regulation today. tim johns is in the newsroom with more on this milestone. tim: while there are a few more steps before the vaccinations can actually happen, some are expecting them to be available as soon as next week. >> every single patient asks when. tim: on wednesday, the answer became clearer. an fda panel taking the first step and authorizing shots for kids aged between six month and five years. at golden gate pediatric, the doctor says it is an important milestone. >> we are busier in our office then we have ever been in my 44 years of being here. tim: the doctor is encouraging

all parents to get their kids vaccinated. the assumption that younger people don't always get as sick with the virus is untrue. >> the children are extremely sick, running fevers for five days, 104, 105. tim: it is something she worries about with her 23 month old daughter. >> the amount of exposure she will have tethered kids and just the possibility for her to get it if she is unvaccinated is that much higher. tim: both she and her husband have been vaccinated for some time. they still had to make changes to their lives in order to protect her daughter. >> -- their daughter. >> we are living a hybrid life. it is slowly turning back to normal for myself and my husband. because we have a young kid at home, we have to be that much more fearful. tim: a reality she is looking forward to putting behind her. >> we really think she has missed out on opportunities she would have otherwise had. we are looking forward to being able to take her to a museum and not be scared about being around

a ton of people. tim: if you have a child you would like to have vaccinated against covid-19, the best thing to do is to reach out to your pediatrician. dan: thank you very much. in the south bay, the san jose community is rallying around six siblings who were orphaned in new murder-suicide this past weekend. the children will now live with their aunts and grandmother in a two bedroom apartment for the time being. the devastation is not only emotional but also financial print the file -- financial. they were arguing with the kids still around. a security guard tried to intervene but the father shot him. -- him, erica, and then himself the children saw everything. >> the oldest who saw the whole incident is still -- she still cries and she cannot understand why her father would do that. dan: their aunt says her sister

had separated from the father and was working to support the kids. san jose police officers association have set up a link for people to donate to help his family. ama: in the south bay, bus operators with santa clara valley presentation -- transportation authority feel targeted. they describe recent attacks on bus drivers as unrelenting. amanda del castillo details the concern. amanda: at least 14 attacks on bus operators in the last few months alone. >> it's a disappointing time for the community and for operators to have a feeling that they are being targeted or that there has been an up tick in attacks on operators or frustration with operators. amanda: lisa is the deputy director for vta. she says is sentence have ranged -- incidents have ranged from spreading to serious assaults. the transit agency turned to the

committee for help finding this man. they say he is responsible for a may 25 assault at the transit center that left a bus driver with a concussion and laceration to his face. in many cases, attacks are completely out of the blue and unexpected. >> i have had on three separate occasions guns pulled out. i was hit with a baton over the face. i was assaulted by a lady. amanda: the bus driver says he was sent to the hospital after that woman scratched him and broke scan. in his 10 days of experience, he blames covid-19 for cutting passenger patience down to zero. with the change in behavior comes change in the safety blueprint. vta says its modified policies and more, even putting up physical barriers between

operators and passengers. >> i use it religiously because that gives us a fighting chance for anything. amanda: beyond the barriers, vta says it's working with the santa clara county da's office and local law enforcement to send a message. it is a serious situation when you attack a public servant. >> these suspects commit these crimes. >> these people are trying to serve our community and get people to where they need to go. they should not be targeted and we will work to do whatever we can to make sure folks know we will not tolerate it. amanda: i am amanda del castillo, abc 7 news. dan: parents in need of baby formula will have to wait longer because of a new issue at a production that. abbott once again has been forced to stop production at its facility in michigan after flooding from severe thunderstorms. two weeks ago, the company resumed making it specialty

formula and expected it back in storms around the beginning of next week. that is not going to happen now. in march, the fda shut down the plant because of contamination issues. ama: interest rates went up today for the third time this year. the hike is an effort by the federal reserve to try and cool an overheating economy and bring down record high inflation. >> i think a recession is possible. economists are bad at predicting recessions but i think the fed has a decent and reasonable chance of achieving what jay powell calls a soft issue landing. -- soft-ish landing. ama: a similar height could come in july if the economic data does not improve. a new effort to lower sky high gas prices. president biden sent a letter to major oil companies blasting them for raking in record profits and calling on them to increase production. dan: the final trip home.

forecast and see what it will be like as we head toward the weekend. ama: meteorologist sandhya patel is here with what is coming our way. sandhya: we are going to drop those temperatures the next couple of days and then for juneteenth and father's day celebrations on sunday, bumping them up. get ready for a roller coaster ride. let me show you what will bring about the change. started noticing the cooling along the coast and the day. inland areas will notice it tomorrow. this area of low pressure continues to work its way towards the pacific northwest. it is certainly enhancing the offshore -- onshore winds. as we get back sea breeze reaching our inland communities tomorrow, you are going to go from the 90's inland today that you experienced to the 80's. even some 70's showing up. emeryville camera looking back toward san francisco, here is a look at the temperature change. 84 today in santa rosa, dropping five degrees. 14 degrees cooler in concord

tomorrow from 93 to 79. i think you will notice that. redwood city dropping 12 degrees. fairfield down 11 and gilroy, 14 degrees cooler. it is already cooler across parts of the bay area. 11 degrees drop in livermore and that is free what's going to be the trend into tomorrow. temperatures in the comfort zone. 40's to 60's unless you are out towards brentwood. 72 degrees. for the nba final game six, warriors in boston. if you are at the watch party here tomorrow night, make sure you grab a jacket. it's going to be breezy. 61 degrees at 5:00 p.m., dropping down to 57 degrees. here is the view looking at san francisco. much cooler bay and inland with temperatures falling below average friday and saturday. tomorrow morning will have the low clouds and higher clouds and then some sunshine in between but you will definitely notice a change in the air as those winds pick up. in the morning, it is a little

breezy but it gets gustier by afternoon and evening. tomorrow as you head out the door, look for temperatures in the 40's to 60's range. afternoon highs will look like this, windy along the coast, breezy inland, upper 50's to low 80's, so certainly a change in the air that will continue on friday. as you look at the seven-day forecast, dropping another 10 degrees inland. windy and cooler. upper 50's to low 70's. below average for the first half of your weekend but the second half of the weekend, temperatures begin to come up and as summer returns, the heat returns as summer starts on tuesday. mid-90's inland, mid-60's coast side, and then coming -- staying in the 60's to 90's range. dan:
