ignitions are still allowed. the fun on wheels inside golden gate park. just got a little smoother and a lot more colorful. a new mural at the 6th avenue skate park gave visitors one more reason to dance this weekend the san francisco recreation and park department hosted a free event to celebrate the installation of the mural titled psychedelic golden gate skate. it's the of a local artist. the skaters here people who have come together and build this community for decades now have a dedicated place. they have a mural and they have a street that is closed off to cars. the skate park just reopened earlier this month after multiple closures over the past few months along with the new mural. there's also new asphalt for a much smoother ride. meteorologist francis deglassen is tracking the forecast and francis. what can we expect for today?

father's day june teen? yep. yep, and then this week you're saying get ready for more heat get those fans back out. yeah today. it's gonna be really pleasant sunny warmer still breezy this afternoon, but not quite as windy as we've seen the last few days. so that's gonna allow temperatures to warm up and if you are head to golden gate park anyone do some roller skating you might be able to wear your t-shirt and shorts today. it is going to warm up. san francisco live doppler 7 showing us quiet conditions. we did see some clouds off the peninsula coast but check out this preview from mount ham looking south temperatures in the 40s and 50s, san francisco 53, oakland 52 mountain view, santa clara and half moon bay still in the mid-tapper 40s in san jose currently at 53 degrees and this time from the east bay hills were looking out west you can see towards oakland there in santa rosa petaluma and have 47 degrees right now fairfield in concord 55 livermore 50 degrees and here's a live shot of santa

cruz because this is where you might want to go towards the middle of the week sunny and warmer for father's day and june 10th, and then we're expecting triple digits inland tuesday and wednesday even santa cruz might get up to 90 degrees by about tuesday and luckily relief is insight because the heat will start to ease towards the end of the week. so the winds will start to pick up again around four or five o'clock this afternoon, but notice they're closer to more like 20 25 miles an hour versus over 30 miles an hour yesterday, and that's going to allow things to heat up. so in san jose look for high of 81 even santa cruz getting to 79 today sunnyvale 77. we'll see upper 70s on the lower part of the peninsulaic, palo alto mountain view and low six seas of pacifica and half moon bay daily city not as much fog later. on today should be clearing by late mornings downtown san francisco 70 degrees and nap is going to hit 81.

distintoscolores, karen cruz is reading a book about the world to a group of mainly latino children. she's participating in a new pilot program the pairs high school students like her with young kids in the predominantly hispanic mission district. spanish is my first language, you know, so i speak both but i feel more comfortable speaking spanish with them because they mostly speak more spanish dixie carranza leads the mission education program the beauty of it is that the high school students are supporting younger students and we want the students to see themselves in their teachers. you see the food in the stores and restaurants you of food on tv. mary paris is getting paid as an intern as part of the program. she has to take a said city college on the latin american diaspora. the goal is for her to eventually pick a career in education. i feel like we do need more latino teachers because i feel like in the district. we don't have many like it's very much needed and that's true
