made in nigeria,. cornell: there's a chance for local small business owners to shine. it feels like more visibility. cornell: lake merritt was celebrating juneteenth in a big way. richard johnson was talking with his grandson about why the day is so important. >> we need to have more days like this because this is a day where everybody comes out and feels free. cornell: there were extra police officers on duty and street closures around the lake near the scene of gun violence at last year's festival where one man was killed. chef deion greene wants to move forward with what is good. >> we hope we can continue and let this festival get bigger and bigger, keep it positive.

cornell: in the east bay, abc7news. dion: on juneteenth, the bishop released a video apologizing to those who have experienced racism by the catholic church. >> i also apologize to anyone here who has suffered any form of racism from members or official representatives of the catholic church in your lifetime. dion: the video is from last month. in 2020, bishop barber announced the formation of the diocese of oakland racial justice task force. it is charged with addressing the issues charged i systemic oppression and racism. juneteenth falls on a sunday this year. the federal holiday will be tomorrow, which means the government and stock market will

be closed. in the east, two instances of anti-asian graffiti at the same house are being investigated as a hate crime. san leandro police say yesterday someerday someone vandalized a for sale sign with an anti-asian message. this morning, the message was found spray-painted on the home's barrage door. investigators say the realtor, property owners and most recent tenants are all of asian dissent. abc 7 is proud to help celebrate pride all year round. san francisco's 62nd annual pride parade is next sunday, and abc7news spoke with susan ford who explained why this year's celebration is so special. >> i think the resilience of the lgbtq community in the face of the pandemic will be on center stage. the history of the community in san francisco is marked with

dion: the national average for a gallon of regular gas has dropped below five dollars. there is a similar trend in the bay area. san francisco's average is now $6.54, dropping $.10 compared to last week. oakland's average, $6.51. thousands of self-proclaimed birth bunnies are pounding the pavement in order to save soil. the music concourse in golden gate park, one of the sites for a series of walkathon's. it is a group dedicated to our soil. the group calls for the use of more organic material being used in agriculture. >> 52% of agricultural soil is already degraded, and in 60

dion: a new development in the case of a stolen bike belonging to a nine-year-old boy. he is riding high once again. >> surprise! asked the council to build benny a new one. his uncles got to work to help, and he got his new bike today. >> i thought i got my bike back for a sec, but i saw the designs, and it was a new bike. a new seat, bigger. a cool trophy on the front. dion: 2.0. you may remember when benny's bike was stolen last month, we were there. the warriors chipped in to make a donation to the little writer council to help pay for the cost of the new bike. i love this story. such a community coming together, the warriors and their outreach, always impressive. spencer: the warriors are just doing good stuff all around, right? tomorrow, we will get to see the parade. i'm happy for him. here is a look at our weather.

we've got calm conditions in terms of sky conditions. sunny skies, mild weather, but it is breezy once again. gusts as high as 30 miles per hour in some locations. we do have sunny and mild conditions, much warmer conditions than we had at this time yesterday. san francisco, three degrees warmer. that is a hint of what is coming our way the next couple of days. here is a look from san francisco. it is 62 degrees in the city. 81 in mountain view. upper 70's at san jose. here's the view from emeryville. we have temperature readings, 83 in santa rosa. napa, 81, 82.

77 at livermore. santa cruz beach, which may be a popular spot over the next few days, temperatures continue to rise. sunny and warm tomorrow. triple digit temperatures prevail inland on tuesday and wednesday. this heat will ease gradually as we head towards the end of the week. maybe a patch or two of fog, but it will be a sunny day tomorrow, and the warm up will continue. overnight low temperatures will be mainly in the mid 50's as we go inland and the east bay, the lows will drop below 60 degrees. antioch, 64. it is going to be pretty warm, may uncomfortable. tomorrow, the warriors victory parade. by midmorning, it will be nearly 70 in the city under sunny skies. early afternoon, look for

temperatures in the low to mid 70's, which is pretty mild. highs in the south bay, mid to upper 80's, low 90's. 91 will be the high. mid to upper 60's on the coast tomorrow. downtown san francisco will top out at 74 degrees. 89 in sonoma. oakland, 80. the inland east bay will be our warmest region with low to mid 90's in every location. on tuesday, it heats up with numerous locations, about a dozen or more locations experiencing highs between 100 and 105 degrees. the gradually eases. there's a pattern developing going into thursday, and here's the accuweather 7 day forecast. mid 90's inland going into the weekend. it is going to be a warm first few days of summer. >> now abc 7 sports with chris

alvarez. chris: the warriors will celebrate their fourth title in the last eight seasons and seventh overall in franchise history tomorrow in san francisco. our abc 7 live parade coverage begins at 10:00 a.m. let's give it up for kevon looney. he is now a three-time champion. loon played in all 104 games for the warriors this season. he was plagued by injuries earlier in his career, including two hip surgeries. he enters the off-season as a free but says he would love to run it back with the dubs. >> real special for me with everything i had to go through and with the team went through to make it back to the mountaintop, it's an amazing feeling. i always want to be back here. i've been here my whole career, but it's a business, and you never know what is going to happen. i just want to come back and be part of some thing special
