by lunch we are right 80's and 90's. it is hot and hazy. 90's and triple digits this afternoon. the heat advisory will begin at 10:00. a closer look at how warm we get this afternoon in about nine minutes. kumasi: we are also facing a high fire danger. abc 7's news reporter is live with what people are doing to state will. ryan? ryan: you can start to feel it is warming up in the east bay in walnut creek, where the temperature according to the monitor over my shoulder just under 60 degrees. the sun is now rising and with that we know the warm weather will start to slowly follow. we know the east bay residents have been doing the best they can to stay warm over the next couple of days. we can't up with them yesterday as

the pool in waut creek. many people trying to beat the heat there. it was cooler. we know today will be hotter and that brings about the issue of fire danger. the national weather service says there keep an eye on the wind coming with this heat, something they say is going to hurt the fire danger. >> we are also watching offshore flow were north to northeast wind. those will definitely elevate fire concerns. ryan: it is something we will continue to talk about because this is a real concern and summer is only beginning. triple digit temperatures over in this area of the east bay. just last week we saw crazy fire breakout near neighborhood in pittsburgh and it was cooler in that neighborhood last week. now we are talking about much hotter temperatures and they are concerned about the wind and what that will bring.

those hot days. i know those pools will be grounded. that is what happens when it gets so hot. it is causing more concern about the fires. officials say the hun air will drive vegetation faster, making it easier to burn. >> mowing or do some yard work, anything that might cause a spark, do it before 10:00. >> got too concerned about the fire coming into our community, but at the same time we are aware that was of fire last week. it could happen. ryan: i was at that fire in pittsburgh last week. we saw how crazy that fire got close to those homes in that neighborhood. now we are talking about much hotter temperatures today. definitely on the mind of a lot of east bay residents. not just the idea about how they are trying to stay cool. that is one problem.

the teacher was seriously hurt and had to be airlifted to a hospital. the student injuries were minor. frech investigators say they are still looking into what caused that bus driver to lose control. it will be tested for alcohol and drugs. no word when the albany student will come home. registered nurses are planning to go on strike this week. nurses say the issues include a chronic lack of supplies, understaffing, and patient care issues. the disco day strike is scheduled for tomorrow and thursday on sullivan avenue. they will pick it tomorrow morning and hold a rally in the afternoon. hospital officials did not respond to the specific allegations made by the nurses, only to say they have made every effort to resolve the issues but cannot afford the wages the nurses are asking for. kumasi: if you drive across the golden gate bridge it will cost you more. darting july 1, tolls are going up.

the carpal rate is going up to 640. the bridge has the most expensive tolls in the bay area. summer travel is in full swing. the july 4 holiday is expected to be really busy. despite the record high gas prices, nearly 42 million people are hitting the road from holiday weekend. in the bay area of the company says the worst corridor to travel is westbound i-80. the busiest time will be next thursday from 5:45 to 7:45 p.m.. the court order will be 75% above normal. reggie: gas prices are still extremely high in the bay area but there is a glimmer of hope. prices are down this week. according to aaa the average price is 6:52 in san francisco which is down from last week. in oakland prices are down six
