nicco. >> hi everybody. let's jump right in and show you what we are seeing. the wind right now are blowing ever so lightly. that is the saving grace. we have three of the four conditions needed for easy fire starts and movement. the one condition we don't have is wind. we have extremely hot temperatures and dry air and extremely dry fuel. it does not take much, just a spark, to get a fire going. you are seeing a light northeasterly wind at about one to four miles an hour. that is why you are seeing some of that smoke slowly drift. look at the temperature. this is our emerald lake hills reporting station. it is 100 three. that is if the firefighters on the ground will be dealing with and all of the equipment they carry. 14% humidity. they are going to remain fairly

light up at this higher elevation. if this does somehow climb down to lower elevations, it will find the same temperatures and humidity, but also faster wind in the lower elevations flowing out of the west at 20, possibly dropping down to five after the sun sets. that is the concern i have now, if this thing marches to lower elevations, it is going to find more oxygen to spread. >> housing there as well. thanks for keeping us posted. temperatures in the east bay topped 105. leslie brinkley is live in relatively balmy walnut creek. what is the temperature? >> gosh good i just checked. 102 right now. that is in the shade. it is supposed to edge up to 104 in the coming hour.

to the world, now you know. breaking news and that breaking news is out of san mateo county where moving wildfire has forced to evacuations near redwood city. the fire has now burned 20 acres in his burning near edgewood road and crestview drive. it is not that far from 280. the smoke is visible to drivers and is causing a bit of a slowdown on the freeway. cal fire says there is a second fire in the area, but it is contained we've seen firefighters throwing everything they can at the flames from sky seven that includes a plane dropping retardant and a helicopter doing water drops as well. are some power lines in the area we did see some poles that appear to be singed by the flames. we have not heard though, if anyone has been hurt our abc 7 news reporter amanda delka. castillo is now on the scene. she joins us live
