responding to the six alarm edgewood fire burning east of highway 280 in redwood city. my wife called me and said there's a fire in the edgewood park which is right over here. and told me get home right away. we found a long time resident dennis mendes watering his front yard flames in the distance. cal fire says 9 one calls came in just before 2:30 tuesday afternoon first responders found the now contained colton fire and the edgewood fire burning a short distance from one another the surrounding ra tight narrow roads with plenty of properties intermixed with vegetation what this does show us is we have extremely dry fuel. we're talking about the middle of june right now, and we're seeing fire behavior that's weeks ahead of where we typically are califiers says at least one firefighter was injured while working on the fire line and was taken to stanford hospital an afternoon of air attacks and on the ground firefighting highlighting the threat of fire danger for residents. kind of scary how close i got

it's getting real the edgewood fire forced significant evacuation orders for the town of woodside part of redwood city and unincorporated portions of the county. we found residents even without warnings ready to go it took me five minutes. yeah, so it's just it's a a reminder of what matters and for this evacuated resident who wanted to be identified only as chris what mattered most was her 35 year old icelandic pony named fudgy the pair live right next to edgewood park where she and other residents report hearing an explosion in the area of a pg&e substation and always a huge bank what? huge bang and and then i just didn't really understand and then my neighbor called and said, you know get fudge. and we know fudgy is doing okay. however, that injured firefighter we have not gotten an update on their injuries or their condition meantime crews will remain on scene overnight.
