coverage of the pride parade. it starts at 10:30 this morning wherever you watch abc 7 news. we wanted to give you a look at the parade route. it travels up market street and ends past eight street at the civic center where the celebration will follow. developing news on the impact of the supreme court decision to overturn roe v. wade. more protests happening across the country in reaction to the ruling. a resistance movement is on rise, looking different than it did in the 1960's. abc news reporter christina sloan has the latest. christine: the supreme court ending constitutional protections for abortion sparking protests across the country. in rhode island, a candidate for state senate set her opponent, a police officer, punched her at a rally. the officer has been charged with simple assault.

station and they got into a physical altercation and a firearm was produced. someone was hit in the head with it. a shot rang out. we can't tell you what happened after that because we the floor. stephanie: the man was gone by the time bart police arrived on the scene. the shooting victim was the grazed gunfire. he is taken to the hospital and expected to be ok. art has resumed -- bart has resumed full service. on friday at 26-year-old man was arrested for killing a man in san francisco. jury has awarded $21 million to the family of the pregnant 16-year-old killed by fremont police back in 2017. she was in the passenger of a car undercover officers tried to stop.

police were said to be arrested -- attempting to arrest the driver of the car. in 2018, the district attorney's office concluded that the fatal shooting was justified. a police pursuit saturday and with a crash, killing the driver and critically injuring the passenger. police say the chase began after the car failed to stop when an officer tried to pull over the driver. the pursuit reached dangerous speeds when the car rolled over hill and crashed. the car was reported stolen out of richmond. new developments in sexual assault claims against windsor' former mayor. a woman in montana filed a lawsuit against a man, accusing a man of raping her several times in 2020 when she was 18. 21 women have now made sexual soul or harassment claims against him.

seven have joined him in a lawsuit. he said he is innocent and looks forward to being fully cleared. a fire scare in alamo after a blaze that began and house spread to a nearby bush. it moved rapidly, damaging another home. tim johns was on scene and tells us why fire crews say residents got lucky. tim: a close call saturday afternoon. around 3:00, a house caught on fire before eventually spreading to nearby grass. >> my husband was home and we had to get the dogs out and i was thinking of things of importance, a begins and the dogs. tim: crews were able to quickly contain the blaze. one person has been transferred to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

there is no word on a cause and the fire remains under investigation. even though things turned out ok, crusade it could be a lot worse. they are using this as an example to get everyone ready for the upcoming fire season, things like creating defensible spaces and maintaining brush are critical. >> if the wind had been blowing harder and if it been hotter and residents had not done their defensive space. tim: neighbor say given the drought conditions it is still too close for comfort. several will update fire bags and get evacuation plans ready. >> we have to knowledge we don't have such a plan but this is a wake-up call. tim johns, abc 7 news. stephanie: a wildfire burning in the oak and pine forest near highway 17 and hutchinson road. the fire is at 1.5 acres so far and is 75 percent contained.

gets going. there is a system offshore and we will see more of the breeze through the inland valleys bringing temperatures way down. as we look at the low clouds, you would think we were getting the inland push and that will bring some relief but it is not going to because we have a strong ridge of high pressure in place for the next few days. once we get the system off of the coast, that is when we get the cooling throughout the middle of the week and into the upcoming weekend. as we look at san francisco, low 60's today with the sun coming out at 9:00 at noon. 78 for the afternoon. then fog will come back after 5:00 or 6:00. for tomorrow, no change. 70's to near 80 in the south bay peer the north bay will have some warm days through tomorrow but by wednesday it is a cooler day for everyone.

highs today with the cool coast and hot temperatures inland from the upper 60's to 70's downtown and mid and upper 90's inland. 86 in san jose. 87 in napa. mid 70's in oakland. the inland heat continues for monday. little change into tuesday. wednesday, or cooling against. as the ridge fades away, typical low clouds and fog with average temperatures inland with highs coming down at least 10 degrees by the middle to the end of the week in the inland valleys. stephanie: it is nice to see the cooldown. fire danger top of mind for many. what is it for this week? lisa: we are so dry that we will have the risk of high fire danger but next weekend generally through the fall. even with the cooler temperatures, it is to dry.
