overturned. judges in two of those states, utah and louisiana, have temporarily banned the trigger law, saying states are unprepared for such a significant change. the judges have granted temporary restriction -- restraining orders, allowing for more time for the courts to hear challenges. the white house is downplaying calls to build abortion clinics on federal land. >> what is most important right now is that we ensure that the restrictions the states are trying to put up that would prohibit a woman from exercising what we still maintain is her right, that we do everything we can to empower women to not only see, but receive care where it is available. jobina: on pharmacies, placing limits on the emergency contraceptive known as plan b. it is not the same as the abortion pill. prescribed by doctors.

oakland police say officers chased the accused driver. >> in back to back weeks, oakland is mourning the life of another person killed by a high-speed driver. >> it echoes the fact that we need more traffic enforcement to slow people down. >> this time, the family of a 28-year-old hayward resident leaving flowers and candles feet from where he lost his life. his brother said he was walking back to his car after getting food, when he was struck by a vehicle early sunday morning. oakland police confirmed the driver had been chased by officers, who are now on administered of leave pending investigation. >> prior to the collision, two officers attempted to stop the vehicle, traveling at nearly 100 miles an hour. the officers could not keep up with the vehicle, the officers disengaged vehicle.

the vehicle continued down international boulevard, where the nissan struck another vehicle in the roadway, causing that nissan to spin out of control. the nissan struck several parked vehicles and motorcycles within the 5400 block of international boulevard, which struck a pedestrian on the sidewalk. >> according to oakland police chief, three pedestrians were injured. officers arrested a 19-year-old male who police say was previously involved in a sideshow. chief armstrong bringing up another incident where an incident -- an innocent cyclist was killed by a high-speed vehicle. >> lost his life in front of his children. >> oakland councilmember said additional funding went into traffic measures last year, but the city department of transportation is understaffed. >> our speedbump team, the individuals who install speed bumps has been deactivated. they are not operational now. >> councilmember five is demanding for increased urgency and straight -- street safety.

cooler weather tomorrow, especially into wednesday. reggie: the end of an era for generations of families across northern california. great america's parent company has announced the theme park is shutting down, but you have a lot of time to enjoy the fun. why this is going to be a long goodbye. >> a long and sad goodbye. a lot of people do not want to see this part way, including myself. i have a lot of memories here. it is going to be a long goodbye, probably in emotional for some. the long-term plan is very unclear at great america. the company operating the park says it will be stopping operations once its lease expires in 11 years. cedar fair, the company that operates the park, sold the land to this bay amusement park to a real estate developer for around

the park. that plan is unclear. we know the current company plans to stop operations. speaking of first jobs, my dad's first job was at great america. my family and a lot of other families are going to be sad to see this place go if it does end up closing in 11 years. kumasi: this morning, an investigation happening in a rural part of missouri after a deadly amtrak train crash. at least three people were killed. jobina: we are learning the crash happened outside kans city, the train hit a dump truck. cars flew off the tracks. two of the three people killed were on the train. the other was inside the truck. up to 50 people were injured. >> seats were coming apart, bats were going everywhere. after it stopped, you could

smell the fumes. people started panicking. we tried to get out as quick as possible. jobina: the train had 243 passengers and 12 crewmembers on board at the time of the crash. a troop of boy scouts sprung into action to give first aid to people, even the truck driver, who died. the national transportation safety board is sending a team today to investigate the incident. reggie: at least 46 immigrants have been found dead inside a tractor-trailer in san antonio. in a suspected human smuggling case. a nearby business owner made the discovery after hearing a faint cry for help. 16 people survived, including four children. authorities say they are being treated for heat exhaustion or heat stroke firefighters say there was no water, no working air conditioner, even though it was a refridgerated truree pe a. kumasi: a man who admitted to

killing a federal security guard in oakland has pleaded guilty to kill the -- killing a sheriff's deputy. he could have received the death penalty. he is facing a sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole. earlier this month, he was sentenced to 41 years in prison for the oakland shooting. former air force sergeant was allegedly a member of an antigovernment extremist group. reggie: we are learning the identities of three people who died after a car near brentwood. the car was crossing a dirt road to attend a fundraiser for a funeral on sunday. julia and -- from dixson and mercedes rigoletto all died. three other people in the vehicle survive. two other have critical injuries and are in the hospital. >> this is not the first time

this has happened. there is a monument down there, a person about four years ago. my opinion, people are not used to going across river tracks where there is not a signal. >> the crash is under investigation. federal officials say four similar collisions have happened in that same location in the past two decades, one was deadly. kumasi: voting on a measure to help provide narcan and other fentanyl prevention resources in schools. it would make funding available for schools to buy narcan, which can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose. >> while we can make this resource available, every school district, every school board and every school have to make this decision for themselves. we are trying to make the resource available to them. kumasi: according to the county, fentanyl overdose deaths have gone up in recent years, up from 29 in 2019 to 135 last year.

officials say they are not aware of any overdose deaths on any school campus in the county. toyota's first fully electric vehicle is off to a rough -- rough start. thousands are recalled over faulty wheels. the recall includes 2700 toyota crossovers and subaru crossovers. toyota says the bolts on the wheels can get loose, even detached, causing the wheel to come off the vehicle. if it were to happen while a person was driving, there is higher risk the driver could control and crash. reggie: if you have seen the huge reservoir off highway 52, it might be getting bigger. the st. louis reservoir, a proposal would raise the dam at least 10 feet. the project would strengthen the dam for earthquake protection, the reservoir supplies farmlands
