weapons to enter his rally that morning. >> overnight we learned some of hutchinson's testimony is being disputed. abc's jay o'brien begins our coverage. >> reporter: this morning abc news has learned the secret service is preparing to dispute the explosive claims made yesterday by cassidy hutchinson. the former white house aide testified that former president trump got into an altercation with secret service agents on january 6th. hutchinson who was an assistant to then chief of staff mark meadows testified to the january 6th committee that trump insisted on leading the mob of his supporters to the capitol. >> i found mr. meadows in his office on the couch, he didn't look up from his phone and said something to the effect of there's a lot going on, cass, but, i don't know, things might get real, real bad on january 6th. >> hutchinson says after trump's rally on january 6th he was under the impression he was headed to the capitol in his

presidential suv, but hutchinson testified that she heard a second-hand account of how trump became irate when his lead secret service agent robert engel refused to take him to the capitol. >> the president said something to the effect of i'm the effing president, take me up to the capitol now, to which bobby responded, sir, we have to go back to the west wing. the president reached up towards the front of the vehicle to grab at the steering wheel. mr. engel grabbed his arm, said, sir, you need to take your hand off the steering wheel. we're going back to the west wing. we're not going to the capitol. mr. trump then used his free hand to lung towards bobby engel. >> reporter: sources say the secret service agents involved are willing to respond under oath and plan to say there was no physical altercation in the vehicle. it comes as new questions emerge about a handwritten note shown

by the committee. hutchinson testified she wrote the note as a potential statement for trump to release about the capitol riot but eric herschmann claims he, not hutchinson, wrote the note. hutchinson's attorney tweeting overnight ms. hutchinson testified under oath and recounted what she was told. those with knowledge of the episode also should testify under oath. former acting white house chief of staff mick mulvaney also supporting hutchinson saying i know her. i don't think she's lying. meanwhile, hutchinson said trump was furious, more people were not allowed near the stage at his rally before the attack, some apparently unable to get through the mags or metal detectors because they had weapons. >> i overheard the president say sig to the effect of no effing care if they have weapons, they are not there to hurt me, take the effing mags away. >> reporter: hutchinson testified that mark meadows and rudy giuliani wanted presidential pardons. giuliani denies t meadows did not immediately comment.

and hutchinson provided new insight into the trump white house, describing the president leaving a trail of ketchup on the white house wall after attorney general bill barr declared there was no fraud in the election. >> i first noticed there was ketchup dripping down the wall and there's a shattered porcelain plate on the floor. the valet had articulated that the president was extremely angry at the attorney general's ap interview and had thrown his lunch against the wall. >> reporter: throughout the hearing trump denied much of what hutchinson said calling her a total phoney. as to the claim that he had an altercation with secret service agents trump called the allegation sick and fraudulent. jay o'brien, abc news, washington. >> members of the january 6th committee say they're learned trump's allies are trying to intimidate witnesses. congresswoman liz cheney read a text messages allegedly sent to

tragedy hits close to home. >> i came here when i was 14 years old in an 18-wheeler as well and i passed out from the heat. i was lucky that i woke up. >> reporter: officials say at least 62 migrants were stuffed into the back of this tractor-trailer abandoned monday in the texas heat, temperatures topping 100 degrees. by the time first responders arrived most of the men, women and children were already dead. >> the floor of the trailer was covered with dead bodies. >> reporter: the survivors rushed to the hospital, some in critical condition. san antonio's archbishop visited them in their beds, the only one with the strength to speak was a 16-year-old school. >> they were all with tubes, they couldn't talk at all. >> reporter: at least three people have been taken into custody including the truck driver. investigators tracing the truck's registration to a home in san antonio and detaining two men from mexico on weapons charges. human smuggenling a growing problem because of the record surge of migrants arriving at the border from central america
