elementary say they will discuss their next steps. this is a last ditch to prevent the schools from closing. throughout the entire year, we've seen many parents try to get the district to reverse the decision but it doesn't seem like that will happen. yesterday, we saw heated moments of the school board meeting with one member threatening to leave the audience to confound the board members. -- confront the board members. the board is still proceeding with this plan to close several schools this fall. the school district is heading for a budget shortfall and enrollment has been declining over the last few years. closing schools they say was their best way of avoiding the shortfall. the problem, most schools are set to close in predominately black and run neighborhoods. >> i don't believe we have the resources to maintain the number of schools we have. it stretches our resources too thin. >> i will ask you to hear us again, but the community and children first. >> the board process is a sham.

funding for out of state travel. reggie: the budget also includes tens of millions of more for clinics that serve trick californians, provide security and provide outreach. the budget is headed to governor newsom's desk. history will be made at the supreme court. the first black woman justice is going to be sworn in as the court wraps up one of its most controversial terms any of us can remember. jobina: today there will be two major decisions followed by the retirement of justice stephen breyer after three decades in the court. he went to low high school and stanford for undergraduate years. among the 83-year-olds justices final acts on the high court, he will swear in his replacement, former law clerk, ketanji brown jackson. the change is not expected to shift the ideological balance of the conservative majority court. >> she will take both oaths
