it is not. >> she was one of many who encouraged the bcdc in favor of the new ballpark with the theme this is bigger than baseball. even the chief operating officer for the port of oakland says the board can meet future needs without howard terminal. >> it is not operationally viable or financially feasible and if it is not today, it will not be in the future. >> those said the report is flawed because so much of it is based on speculation. >> of forecast is just that. it goes out into the future where none of us can see clearly. the further out we go, the more uncertain it becomes. >> giving up howard terminal amounts to privatization of public land.

>> it will inherit the makings of a new task force that will study how to improve the district high schools. the mayor of san francisco announced a $4 million investment to make students here more college ready. in san francisco, leanne melendez, abc7news. >> some developing news in college sports. usc and ucla are planning to leave the pac-12 conference and instead, join the big ten. both universities made it official just a few minutes ago, they will join the big ten at the start of the 2024 and 2025 school year. they already have 14 schools in there now. ucla says this will help them secure better television time slots for road games and usc says the conference move will help their student-athletes gain more exposure.

people are under arrest in home invasion robbery cases. they hope that other victims may come forward. the fourth person under is a minor. dion them has been tracking the story for weeks and spoke to several victims. in several cases, the victims were tied up and threatened. they say they appear to be repeat offenders. >> they need to remain in custody. you have one that was arrested and walked out of jail and the day after that, committed another violent home invasion. >> in one case, a father and his baby son were held at gunpoint. investigators were asking anyone who has surveillance video of the crimes to contact them. >> happening now, a live look at
