temperatures generally in the 50's and low 60's. it is a touch humid as we watched a cold front moved through. here is a live look from our exploratorium camera. overcast skies over the city. morning clouds and drizzle. mostly sunny skies as we head into the afternoon. by 9:00 p.m., patchy fog around the shoreline. we will pinpoint where the fog is and what you will see in terms of fireworks. kumasi: police preparing for the fourth of july with illegal fireworks shows. liz kreutz is joining us with more on what cities have plan. liz: good morning. despite the fire danger and pandemic delays, fireworks shows are back. some started last night.

in richmond, the show brought out huge crowds over marina bay. it is so fun to watch. that the fire danger we know is a concern, especially when it comes to illegal fireworks. in custer county, we spoke to the mayor of antioch and he said police are set to work overtime and they will respond quicker to illegal fireworks, including flying drones to identify people using it. >> in the past, we had a school parking lot taken over by spectators and people participating in huge illegal fireworks displays. we can deploy a drone and get the address and get the video footage you need as evidence and deal with them accordingly at a later time. this: over the weekend, there were seven fires in contra costa

road closures will be in place on grizzly peak on the fourth. th will be closed to traffic between skyline boulevard and centennial drive to prevent people from setting off fireworks, which are illegal in the city. there are a lot of events happening to celebrate the holiday. we have all of the information, including the fireworks shows at abc 7.com. reggie: people are having a rough time getting around this week to give more details on the difficulties on the road and in the skies. jobina: we know -- we all know someone who has been impacted. physis -- flights having issues. the airline issue and the federal aviation administration are stretched and with first. thousands of flights have been canceled and many more delayed nationwide. >> i spent $656 on a ticket and

check your flight status before you head to any airport to get your update. reggie: a small plane with four people on board crashed into hangar at the petaluma airport. the pilot walked away with minor bumps and bruises and nobody else was hurt. the faa has been called to the scene along with the building inspector. no word on where the fight originated. kumasi: the coast guard searching for three men who are missing after they jumped into the san francisco revert to save a child. this happened yesterday afternoon north of antioch. the child made it out of the water safely and not need medical attention. the coast guard has shifted this to a recovery mission. a similar incident happened close to home. a man died while saving his son. the county sheriff's office reports this is the second drowning at the lake in less than a week.

the father was not able to swing back and drowned in the reservoir. sheriff's office is reminding the public to wear a life jacket when in or near the water. reggie: the east bay, a sideshow took place near fairgrounds and highway 37 in vallejo. you can see the street packed with cars in hundreds were watching pay police lined up down the block and fireworks were shot into the sky as people were running and getting into cars. we have calls into vallejo police but have not heard back. san jose police issued 500 citations during a sideshow during the weekend. seven late saturday night one 200 cars took over the intersection of south 10th street and oma avenue. police released a photo showing police cars blocking sideshow and they made seven arrests on various weapons and firearms charges and confiscated two guns. five cards were towed and

california cities to set up a safe drug injection sites. >> the goal is help those addicted to drugs stay alive and get treatment. bill is sb 57, introduced by senator scott weiner, paving the way for san francisco, oakland and los angeles to set up safe injection sites, places people can go to legally inject drugs while under supervision. >> this is one tool in the toolbox to try and prevent people from dying provost leases -- dying from overdoses and get people into treatment. >> it could land on the governor's desk next month. >> if the governor signs this bill into law, it will go into effect january 1 and my hope is that the city will be prepared at that point in time to open one or more of these sites. >> san francisco department of

police in akron, ohio after a police chase. multiple agencies investigating the death of jayland walker. we have the body camera footage. jobina: city officials and akron releasing what they're calling disturbing body camera video showing the moment the officers shot and killed the officer. nearly a week of all, officers tried to pull him over for a traffic violation when they say a shot was fired out of the car door. chase happened and minutes later, walker slowed down and ran away. they tried to deployed tasers but missed. walker kept running and according to officers, he stopped entered -- and turned toward police and officers opened fire. they don't know many how many shots were shots. a preliminary report shows his body had more than 60 wounds. >> it was excessive.
