hassan joins us live in the newsroom with the latest tehon, sir. good morning liz as you said the washington fire continues to burn out of control and yosemite national park. it's grown to over 2,000 acres with zero percent containment in the race is on to say the parks iconic sequoia trees. the washburn fire has been burning since last week or than 500 firefighters are on the front lines the virus burned so intense that sent debris hundreds of feet in the air fire officials are working to protect the mariposa grove, which is the largest area of the ancient sequoia trees. most of these trees are thousands of years old. in fact a sprinkler system was set up around the grisly giant. it's the park's second largest tree at 209 feet. it's estimated to be about 3,000 years old now another big concern air quality in and around the park, which is reached very unhealthy levels and air quality advisory has been issued for the bay area for we're hopeful that we don't have any type of issues like the orange sky or any type of serious smoke impacts to the

community most of the smoke that you will see will not be at the ground level. so it won't be affecting people. 700 people staying nearby at a campground. we've told you evacuate but some are choosing to wait it out now yosemite national park is over a thousand acres and some parts of the park are still open, but do require a reservation to visit in the newsroom ansar hassan abc7 news answer thank you firefighters are making progress on the electra fire in amador in calaveras counties. cal fire says all evacuation orders are now reduced to warnings there. the fire is now 85% contained but about 150 structures are still threatened that's down for more than 1200 last week. the fire has burned nearly 4,500 acres. the marin county fire department is adding personnel as fire season heats up our media partner the marine independent journal reports. the department is doubling its cruise. thanks to new funding from the state budget annual funding will increase from 8 million to 13 million dollars and that money will allow the department to
