forced to curb force to the curb and evacuated from san francisco airport's international terminal police are investigating a bomb threat and suspicious package this all unfolding during one of the busiest periods of the week to fly traffic also is now backing up outside the airport. good evening. i'm amidates. let's get right to abc 7 news reporter tara campbell who is live at sfo terra. latest yeah, alma we've been sent over to domestic departures to make sure we're not getting in the way of the investigation bart is also not making any stops at sfo right now and as you can see it is quite quiet behind me here, but a much different story at the international terminal at around 8:15 sfpd here at the airport got word of a bomb threat and shortly after we're able to locate what they're calling a suspicious package with a possible explosive. ice travelers in the international terminal terminal worry evacuated out of an man pd about it to social media causing

better bay area tonight more local counties are saying they need more vaccine oakland's vice mayor penned an open letter to health officials marin's top doctors requesting more doses amid, two more possible cases. and in the south bay, there's a vaccine distribution strategy. that demands doses be given to those at highest risk first, but abc 7 news reporter am castillo highlights potential for some relief across the region it seems like we just can't catch a break from covid-19 to monkeypox south bay assembly member evan lowe pointing to the overlapping public health concerns from a distance. he's witnessed the urgent demand for the monkeypox vaccine hours long lines amid limited supply while the percentages are relatively small given our population. we know that this can easily grow quite rapidly. so it's incumbent upon us as government officials to nip this in the -- as soon as possible a member of the lgbtq legislative caucus himself low says it's

last week. that number has since grown exponentially. some people are concerned that upcoming street fairs with large gatherings will spark an outbreak. wish you'd have learned from the previous epidemic that we had than being more proactive or taking action. the federal government ordered an additional two and a half million doses of the vaccine today, but those doses aren't scheduled to arrive until next year and in berkeley an update to a story we first brought you on abc 7 news at 11 this week the management of a club that held a vaccine clinic is explaining their planning changes for next time some people who are waiting in line to get the vaccine at steamworks wednesday complained after paying members of the club. we're loud inside first today, the general manager explained many of them were wearing. robes and bath towels and had to receive the vaccine inside. he said it was a misunderstanding and told abc 7 news from now on all vaccines will be administered outside next week. the plan is outside.

because we want everybody to be involved. social science is great. it's one of the things that we all know something about -- biases, stereotypes, how we engage one another, how we perceive one another. all of those things are things that we do all the time. and what social science does is, it gives you some tools to be reflective. >> our world right now is very polarized. it's very easy for us to think in terms of us and them, and what this exhibition is helping people do is kind of broaden our sense of "we." we are all in this together, so let's take care of one another, look out for each other and just have a greater understanding of one another. this is my favorite exhibit. it's called unseen stories. and here, people get to explore the stereotypes that people put on them and also the stereotypes that they put on other people. so here at this exhibit, we have two different cards that you can fill out. one of them says, "because i...", "people think..." "but actually..." and that's a way to talk

about the stereotypes that we experience from others. so, for example, this person wrote, "because i have a mean-looking face, people think i am intimidating, but actually i would love nothing more than to have a conversation." >> the best thing about the kind of education and science learning that we do here is it's really dependent on a person engaging with the stuff of the world. and in this case, part of that stuff is other people. so it's not just about engaging with an object, it's about starting conversations, and it's about gaining insights through dialogue. and that's such an important part of understanding the world, how you learn not only from the world but from each other. and what we've done here is developed a set of tools that help with that process. >> i am the site manager, and i come here, i set up all the tables and chairs, and just to prepare to welcome guests as they come to middle ground. so when they come in, you know, i will allow them to first
