linked to more burglary cases. reporter: as he entered a san francisco court room, he told the sheriff deputy he did not want to be there. we were asked not to show his face. it was his first appearance after being arrested last saturday for a couple of thing at the cvs pharmacy. employees told police he used the same tactics as he did a year ago when he was caught on cellphone video leaving a walgreens on a bicycle with a plastic garbage bag full of stolen products. >> it is the same exact going into the store, filling up a bag. reporter: he now faces second-degree burglary and grand theft charges. he was on probation when he was arrested last saturday. he served time for shoplifting a

year ago. here is what transpired. i june 14, he was caught on camera shoplifting. a few days later, he was arrested. he was held in jail for a little bit more than nine months while he waited to be tried. in april 2022 he pleaded guilty and received a 16 month sentence. but the penal code allows for halftime credits. therefore, he was immediately released. police say they have reason to believe he shoplifted from the cvs store multiple times and at other establishments. >> the same story and we have reason to believe there are other stories as well. bail was set that $75,000. anchor: sky 7 is over chase in oakland right now. you are taking a live look. it has reached speeds of over

100 miles per hour. this is happening on mlk near 980. this car is just turning through 30th st. it has been on interstate 580, 8080, all over the east bay and peninsula. police are keeping an eye on it. they have been tracking the driver for about an hour. it looked like the case was going to end, but as survivors -- officers surrounded a, the driver took off. the pursuit started in san mateo. about 10 or 15 minutes ago it got on 580. it is a porsche suv on 29th st.

the porsche has been all over the place, crossing valdes street, now going straight. chp continues to follow this porsche suv essay makes its way with speeds over 100 miles per hour. it went right through that stop sign and then it made a turn. it is on vermont avenue. now it is behind an amazon delivery truck. this is a fluid situation. it could get dangerous. anchor: that is always the concern that somebody could get hurt. zipping along at ominous speeds.

trying to get away, it will be very easy for somebody to get in this person's way. ama: going into the gas station, through the gas station and out on the other street. this started in san mateo. police have been following for about an hour now. it went over to the east bay. 880, 580. it has been all over the place, blowing through that intersection. it has gone through stop signs, making a left on 46. was that a motorcycle? dan: i think so. you have to wonder what is going through that person's mind. what do they think they are going to do. how do they think they are going to get away? in all the years we have done this, we almost never see them
