speaking of awards, i am also going to honor some very deserving and talented individuals tonight. acting is one of those jobs that seems very, very glamorous. sometimes it is. but in reality, it can also be very tough. when i first started out, i had to supplement my income by being a substitute teacher, a yoga instructor, a hostess at a restaurant. so it meant a lot to me the first time that i qualified for that sweet screen actors guild health insurance. [ cheers and applause ] i mean, honestly -- how messed up is it that republicans believe that marriage is a decision made between a woman and a man, but a woman's abortion is a decision made between 60 dudes on capitol hill. "daddy's got to meet turbo." i went to go meet turbo. beautiful little dog, beautiful little puppy. and he -- so this is how amazing i think the universe and god works. >> kerry: amen. >> in amazing ways. he was going to get euthanized. >> kerry: oh. >> and so my wife took my daughters to this arts and crafts place. they left the arts and crafts place. true story. they smelled what they thought was doughnuts. and this was over the weekend. so my little daughters were like, let's follow our noses! they started walking down a sidewalk to where they thought it was, strip mall. no doughnut place no sweets, nothing. they're like, wow, this is really weird. they look, and there is this adoption agency, wag more, in front of them.

they walk in. lauren says, well, we're here, do you have any puppies? they bring out turbo. i go meet turbo a few hours later. i'm speaking to the woman. all wonderful staff. they were telling us not only was he going to get euth noised -- not there, but at another place, and they rescued him. a family came the day before to get turbo, fell in love, we'll take him. went to get the papers, came out, the family left. what happened? so he was just left alone again. >> kerry: he was meant to be yours. >> he was meant to be, so we have turbo now.
