they were in full suits it was very scary. >> they were there for this man, 76-year-old james gary. he was arrested for homicide. >> it is a family household and i have a lot of children and they frequently play in the neighborhood and wave at this man. >> it is not just the arrest that bothers her but the extent of what he is alleged to have done. thanks to dna evidence and modern technology, several law enforcement agencies have been able to link him to unsolved murders going back more than 40 years. >> forensic analysis, dna analysis were all premature at that time. they were in their infancy. >> the first murder was that of a union city murder of a woman in her home in 1980. gary is accused of a sex crime in solano county in 2021.

alexis home facebook page. kumasi: oakland police are looking for a man accused of trying to kidnap a two-year-old at a bus stop. these are surveillance photos from the transit platform at high street and international boulevard on tuesday. the man threatened them and try to take the toddler, assaulted the child's mom. a good samaritan intervened and the man ran away. reggie: a fire burning has spread into santa clara county. the fire has burned 120 acres and is 25% contained. there are reports that one home and a garage have been destroyed but no injuries have been ordered. kumasi: tonight is another big drawing for the mega millions jackpot. the prize is now $660 million. nobody won earlier this week so the jackpot went up a lot. ryan: good morning.

reggie: a former ufc champion is appealing a judge's ruling to keep them in jail while he awaits trial for attempted murder he. his lawyers argue he was unconstitutionally denied bail by a judge. he is charged for shooting at a man who was charged with molesting his young son. in court documents, the judge ruled releasing him would pose a risk to the victims and the public. kumasi: layoffs are hitting lyft. lyft rentals was a rental car service you could book through the app. lyft said it will be focused on

race to vaccinate as a number of infections rise. there will be a vaccine clinic at 8:00 a.m. for appointment and a limited number of drop-ins. yesterday, the hospital did 500 doses and every person who went there for a drop in got the shot. as the number of infections continues to rise, there is criticism of the federal government's response. he compared the slow response to the aids crisis. he said the federal government was slow to stockpile and distribute monkeypox vaccines. >> they seem to have done the bear minimum, being dragged along each step of the way in what turned out to be a woefully inadequate response, where we have significant community spread. reggie: this week, san francisco received 4000 doses of the monkeypox vaccine from the federal government. the city has asked for 35,000.

relatively quick. a lot of people get covid and then after a month or two, things start to settle down. we have not seen that at this time. reggie: he says vaccinations are helping keep this wave from being as deadly as others. he suggests the best thing to do is to continue wearing proper masks. kumasi: there is data this morning that a generational gap between how employers do remote work. executives who spent a long time in a traditional work environment were less interested in creating flexible schedules. younger employees are more open to the idea. surveys have found that women and minority workers are more likely to want to work from home. reggie: senate have unveiled a long-awaited proposal to legalize marijuana. chuck schumer introduced the cannabis administration and

opportunity act that would lift the federal ban on marijuana and defer regulation to the states. the legislation would require those that already resist --for exist for alcohol and tobacco. >> it is time to end prohibition on cannabis. this gives the best framework for updating cannabis laws and reversing decades of harm inflicted by the war on drugs. reggie: he said he hopes to move the legislation forward sometime this year. it is likely to face an uphill battle in the senate. at least 10 republicans would have to support the measure for it to pass. kumasi: the supreme court ordered the biden demonstration to enforce a trump era policy on immigration with arresting and deporting migrants in the states . the decision came yesterday 5-4 that will remain in effect until the court hears it in december.
