see the smoke in the atmosphere and the orange as the sun gets up indicating that the smoke is a loft. fog first thing, it's all about hazy sunshine is the veil of smoke slowly drifts in. the air quality near the surface remains good, hour-by-hour we will show you the smoke forecast coming up in a few minutes, guys. julian: thank you. oak fire, developing news, burning out of control outside yosemite national park. 15,000 acres so far. making this the largest fire in the state so far this year. at least 10 buildings have been destroyed, hooting some homes and thousands of structures remain threatened. 6000 have been asked to evacuate. jobina is tracking that for us this morning. jobina: dry summer heat and drought conditions making for a dangerous combination. calfire says the fire activity

wasn't as extreme yesterday but that the fire was able to burn over a ridge and inch closer to mariposa pines on the east side of the fire but that there is a lot of dry fuel and it is difficult to put out, essentially. >> further down the road the fire starts to intensify. the trees will be coming down here we see the result of all of that debt available fuel-burning with a high intensity. jobina: damage inspection teams were able to get in yesterday and the governor to a state of emergency over the weekend allowing additional resources and aide to respond to the fire. kumasi: firefighters from the bay area are on their way there this morning and they gathered bay overnight. pleasanton is where we find ryan. ryan: good morning. the cruise should be on their way now to the oak fire. they left just around 4:00's morning.

or just after. they are making good progress in heading towards the fire where they will be assisting the any crews already working hard to get this as contained as fast as they possibly can. this is not the first crew from alameda county to head up there. a crew on saturday did as well and they stop a home from burning completely saturday afternoon. more than 6000 people have been forced to evacuate so far from this fire. the crews are working around-the-clock both in the air and on the ground with some of the shots coming from the airside areas lig fire burning e hillside. according to alameda county and calfire, the fuel in the area, as we mentioned, burning so fast. >> we arrived right around daybreak after traveling. ryan: if the goal is again to arrive around daybreak today,

left to make their way to the oak fire. it's 2.5 hours to make their way, they should be on their way towards getting closer. they are not the first crew from alameda county to be heading towards the oak fire. there is another that made their way to the fire on saturday and their goal was to get there by daybreak. if today's crew is trying to do something similar it explains why they had to leave so early in the morning. the crew on saturday stopped a home from burning. already, we mentioned this fire was up to 50,000 acres. very dry fuel causing it to burn very fast. any help that will be needed, residents, the evacuations, they are feeling the impact. >> they happened to be on a country road and they found the home engulfed in flames and went into action to try to save the garage in the in law unit.
