get more vaccines to cities like san francisco that have some of the highest case numbers in the country. the search for vaccines. >> i spoke to the cdc's senior advisor for the monkeypox response team should he acknowledged the limited supply and even though the federal government is working on getting more doses, he said it will not be enough. san francisco continues to be the city with the most monkeypox cases in california. the latest count, 215 infections. >> we have monkeypox coming from africa and coming from the congo basin. the congo basin is a little bit more aggressive but the one currently spreading as the west african one and has less mortality than smalltalk's or the cot -- smallpox or the congo basin. >> vaccine supply is limited. today the monkeypox clinic at san francisco general hospital closed after running out of vaccines.

the sf aids foundation has some of the last but they are all accounted for. >> even though we have 300 doses, those will be used to address our waiting list which is currently 6500 individuals deemed eligible . >> we questioned the cdc advisor for hockey puck's response team why the supply has been so scarce. he says there depending on one company that makes the vaccine. >> we do have a supply and demand problem. it is really important to get folks vaccinated but also that they know there are strategies that could prevent transmission. some examples are avoiding anonymous or multiple sex partners if you can. avoiding venues where you could have sexual interactions or other skin to skin interactions. >> there is no timeline on when he pucks -- a one san francisco will get vaccines. >> expectation is that will be

vengeance over the weekend. drag racing at cinema raceway. this event drawing thousands of fans. many camping out overnight. but the flying of a confederate flag at this campsite was disturbing for sonoma county aymbol for flag carries and it is when it does not feel welcoming or belonging. >> when she called the raceway to report it asking if he removed, the news was met with some pushback. >> the vice president of commit occasions did follow-up and said they would look into it but even when members drove later -- drove by later that evening, the flag was still mounted. >> since 2018, cinema raceway has had a strict policy banning confederate flags and banners during race events but the naacp questions how dedicated the track is to enforcing it. >> when we set policy, to be able to have process in place to get sure it's followthrough. >> the raceway says it monitors

the popular berkeley kite festival was called off. >> many fans were hoping it would return. leslie brinkley caught up with the founder to find out why it is not coming back for 2022. >> young or old, there is nothing like the thrill of a kite. every year since 1986 on the last weekend in july, the kite festival has drawn crowds of 30,000 over three days. the pandemic forced the cancellation of the kite festival in 2020 and again in 2021. this year it has canceled over funding. the price went sky high. >> a bit of a rhythm to it. >> we would always pay permit fees and food vendor fees and things like that. in addition to those, we were asked to pay 45,000 additional

dollars to recompense the city for expenses they felt they incurred as a result of the festival. >> things like police, fire, garbage and extra staffing should >> that would have doubled the operating cost. there was no way we could do that. e h iicat is not willing to subsidize special events like the kite festival. they even canceled the fourth of july event this year. the city of berkeley declined to do an on camera interview but told abc7news the city council passed a new ordinance in 2019 that mandates what it costs to hold an event is what it costs in fees to the organizers. other future options could include sponsorships or donations. for now, the festival is not able to take off this year much to that is meant of those who like to see the colorful kites floating by the bay. >> to see the kids joy, i always loved the. gas prices are finally going

>> metta, the parent company of facebook and instagram has been hit with two lawsuits from families of young girls. the lawsuits claim instagram called -- because the girls to become addicted to the service and to develop depression, anxiety and eating disorders. lawsuits claim metta failed to verify the age of the users and instagram's algorithm encouraged eating disorders. metta has not yet commented. we don't know the specifics but let's start with you. we have had this conversation before about the prevalence of
