latino, a community that was also significantly impacted through the covid-19 pandemic. >> every time we think we are getting out of it, there comes another one. >> more than informing latino men about the risks of monkeypox, he says spanish speakers and greater outreach. >> they don't even know about it. we need more information among the community in general and in spanish. >> a doctor says regardless of race, most if not all identified cases in the county have been among men who have sex with men. a majority involves those in their 40's. today marks the focus of a monkeypox vaccine clinic, with hundreds of appointments already booked. cody says even with the current low vaccine supply, more doses are on the way. >> this comes from the federal government to the state government, and then to the counties. we will get a little over 700 doses additionally coming into

it is not clear when vaccines will arrive. we have everything you need to know about monkeypox. just had to our website. reggie: a wild road rage incident in san francisco started yesterday with a gunshot fired in the marina district that ended after a chase downtown. investigators say there was a road rage incident and crash between the driver of a white audi and another driver near the intersection of lombard and laguna. the audi driver ultimately fire. >> my coworker said it sounded like a gong, the impact and the noise. like a bomb went off. reggie: the chase finally came to an end when the driver crashed into and flipped the white truck on market near front street. neither driver got hurt,

somehow. law enforcement detained two from the suspect vehicle. kumasi: after bart lifted its mask mandate, a vote tonight on reinstating that rick berman. our porter has more -- our reporter has more. >> the board talking about whether they want to reinstate the mandate that just expired not long ago. 10 days ago, they had the mask mandate. it expired. they are talking about putting it back in place. bart, masks are strongly recommended on the trains. the board will take up the topic this evening. if it passes, the mandate could be put back in place as early as tomorrow. that means any paid area on bart, you will be required to wear a mask.

reggie: this morning, and air quality advisory for the bay area has been extended because of smoke coming from the oak fire. we are still seeing hazy skies. the good news is, containment on the fire is growing. it is up to 36% this morning. there is no real jump in acreage. so far, more than 18,000 acres have burned. 63 homes have been destroyed. highway 143 through yosemite national park is back open. nothing actually inside yosemite

is threatened by the fire, but visitors will experience poor air quality. >> what we are seeing in mariposa is it is quite smoky in the morning. as the wind shifts, it lows the smoke out of the community of mariposa and toward the east. reggie: tony mcdaniel from the tourism bureau is urging people not to cancel their trips to the area because of the big impact it has on the local economy. calfire expects the fire will be fully contained by august 6. drew: we are looking at the smoke forecast. the smoke thousands of feet up in our atmosphere, coming from the oak buyer. we will call it hazy sunshine out there. the smoke not able to reach the surface, keeping air quality good to go. here is the tan camera. on the horizon, you see that haze, that orange glow, the hazy atmosphere. the fog and marine layer, the fresh air continuing to affect the air quality through the

drew: 6:24 a.m., and we are going to take you to kentucky, where severe weather including life-threatening flash flooding and heavy rain -- get this. up to eight inches of rain fell overnight in some areas. you get all that rain in a short time. officials are morning people to stay off the roads and moved to higher ground. more than 22,000 customers lost power. many trapped in their homes because of the water. rescue crews have been unable to reach several areas because of the fast-moving water.

rena: up to 40% of the food produced in america goes to waste. the cost of the average household of wasted food is more than $1800 a year. a lot of food is wasted because consumers do not understand the expiration date labels on food products. the food and drug administration says confusion about date labeling accounts for an estimated 20% of consumer food waste. i like to say the best buy date -- there are no uniform requirements. experts say if you have something passed its best buy date, examine it for signs of spoilage like changes in color, consistency, or texture. >> people tend to throw things away as soon as the date is over, but you can get more longevity if you just make sure before consuming that you don't see mold or it does not smell wrong. reena: another tip is to beh for pantry that is near its expiration date. >> i like to do a simple search on line. what can i do with salsa and chicken to mark you come up with

quarters. analysts are saying the poor results are because digital ad sales have than low. kumasi: san francisco's board of supervisors is calling on the federal government to step in and because the outgoing transfer of patients from laguna honda hospital, after four patients died shortly after they moved to other facilities. they passed -- they are voting on resolutions that urge the health and human services secretary to intervene and urges governor newsom to take action at the hospital. laguna hospital was decertified in april after it was found to be out of compliance with standards of care. they are working to get recertified before it is closed in september. reggie: uc hastings law school is getting a new name, probably. the board of directors unanimously agreed on changing the name to the university of california college of the law san francisco, aka uc law sf.
