remaining roller skating rinks in the bay area is having a renaissance. we're really happy manuel duarte has been the golden skates general. manager for the last 25 years. he says the boost in attendance is a recent phenomenon starting the business rolled down every single year until the last cup before the pandemic. we are really think it's to close down because we're not really busy at all. the rink was scheduled to close down at the end of july and be transformed into housing units, but after the proposal fell through news of the rings closure spread throughout the community there was such a surge in attendance that now the set to stay open for the foreseeable future. i just finished lacing up my shoes here. i haven't done this in about 20 years or so, but according to duarte. i'm exactly the type of person that golden state is trying to get to come on back. it's also people like william haynes who came out to skate with family and friends for the first time in decades. let's say 40, 45 years ago pain
6:18 am
says establishments like the golden skate are more than just somewhere to have a good time. they're also places to eight memories with loved ones grow a sense of community and pass down traditions generation to generation someplace else for kids to go and just enjoy themselves somewhere safe indoors. and be together list some music have some food. so for now the golden skate will remain open and if the people out here have any say it will stay that way for a long time to come save the ranks, man. in san ramon tim johns ab 7 news. well, i'm glad to see it back open and people having a good time last night. it's a good thing to do lisa when the rain is here is a little dreary little gray. yeah, absolutely, and we're going to see that for the next 24 hours or so. so yeah some different plans not potentially the best day for outdoor activities, although you won't be getting wet. we just have a slight chance of
6:19 am
showers. it's more that we won't have the sun that we're so used to having as the low deck of clouds. because we have high and mid-level clouds. here's a look at live doppler 7 and you can see the activity. it's been to the south of us, but as we go in closer, you can see it offshore and this is moving up from the east south east and then we'll see more of it as we get into later on today a little bit more moisture-headed our way and then into monday so a couple opportunities for a few showers. there is an outside chance of a thunderstorm and that would lead to the potential for lightning which is not what we want to see because that course could start a wildfire lots of fog here though in san francisco. it is 59.16 oakland 62 in palo alto. so with all those extra layers of clouds, we are slightly milder this morning. there still is some patchy fog and drizzle at the coast. there's a look at the cloudy south bay 58 santa rosa 57 in petaluma. it's 60 by the delta. those southwest winds keeping it breezy once again throughout the day today.
6:20 am
so not only is our typical on shore flow with us today, but we the layers of clouds moist. moving up from the south and the possibility of a few showers out there. the humidity will be higher maybe even a thunderstorm. the chance is low, but we have to put it in there because we're looking at some of the elements coming together that could make this more likely a tg mechanism he coast and then that moisture coming in from the south. so here's a look at the next several hours and you notice the green represents the possibility of moisture out there, but then throughout the afternoon, we'll get some clearing not totally clear though. we'll partly cloudy and then here's the better chance of those rain showers and thunderstorm activity coming into the east of us the sacramento valley the san joaquin valley the foothills the sierra, nevada and then into monday notice. we still have moisture off the coast. and so we're keeping that chance of a slight chance of a thunderstorm right on through the day on monday, and then there is the cloud cover even
6:21 am
into tuesday. so we do see this this time of year, but rainfall amounts notice as we get closer meal notice that not a mounting too much but that's the interesting part of a thunderstorm. you really don't know where it's going to sit and put down that rain so we'll look for that chance throughout the next 24 to 48 hours. in the meantime. we've got a lot of cloud cover locally here with temperatures from the lodeman 60s downtown 70 in oakland 75 in fremont looking at mid 80s a little more sun inland with those hazy conditions the accuweather seven day forecasts slightly humid chance of of a shower or thunderstorm today. tomorrow then we'll get a mix of clouds and suns slightly warmer and we get back into the middle of the week. our usual weather pattern is with us, and we're going to crank up the heat especially inland for those mid-90s and a little bit warmer around the bay. alright lisa. sounds good. thank you a british mathematician belief. she has come up with the perfect formula to wake up in a positive mood and marie emefidin focused on 2,000 people and says that
