good morning, everyone. it is august 1. >> we start with the forecast. drew: we are tracking isolated showers. we are tracking some monsoonal moisture streaming in from the south. this is where much of the action has been. working through middletown this morning and we are watching another shield of moisture working its way north. any shower that we have will have the chance for a within the showers. we are looking at some damp conditions. the shower chance is out here later on tonight. jordan: even though there is a limited chance of thunderstorms in the bay area, you can find a

drew: showing you isolated showers. this monsoonal moisture from south to north. it is not uncommon to get moisture in our neck of the woods. we have been tracking those showers, scattered in nature. that is where we find some of the action this morning. we are watching this shield of moisture on its way into most of the south bay this morning. we have not detected any lightning strikes with the showers that we are seeing on doppler seven.

few hours. another look at the weather in the next few minutes. julian: now to the fires burning across the state. we have learned at least two people have died with thousands more are forced from their homes. kumasi: it has burned several acres. several hikers had to be rescued. reporter: firefighters rushing to beat back the flames from the biggest wildfire in california this season. the mckinney fire went from charring several hundred acres to torching more than 2000 acres on sunday on over 100 structures and killing at least four other people. we spoke to the sheriff earlier

this morning. >> last night, primarily we spent trying to develop plans for today, which includes going out and trying to do an assessment of the damage, the best that we can, and we are trying to look for any obviously deceased persons in the burned area. reporter: the homes were evacuated. search-and-rescue cruz rushing to rescue dozens of hikers over the weekend. smoke began to produce the visibility levels. in some cases, all that remained was a mailbox on the ground or a smoldering track nearby. this time lapse video shows an eerie sight. it created its own weather system. lightning colliding with the bright red sky. now with more evacuations expected, there are concerns that the weather could change

the direction that the fire is going. what is behind me is what is left of this community center. over 100 structures in the area, it is completely obliterated. there were thunderstorms overnight. bringing a little bit of moisture, unclear if it is enough to make a significant difference. lightning is a concern and it might have triggered new fires that they do not yet know about. he is hopeful that the progress of the fire has slowed significantly over the hours and that he can protect the rest of the communities. kumasi: the oak fire is holding at just over 19,000 acres. there was no growth in the last day. at least 120 four homes have been destroyed.
