president biden revealed he was taken out over the weekend. jobina: ayman al-zawahiri was osama bin laden's successor. he has been wanted for decades, was found in a terrorist safe house in afghanistan and taken out by two hellfire missiles. he was taken out while standing on a balcony in couple. the president's announcement was clear to the nation last night. >> justice has been delivered. this terrorist leader is no more. people around the world no longer need to fear the vicious and determined killer, no matter how long it takes, no matter where you hide, if you are a threat to our people, the united states will find you and take you out. al-zawahiri was second in

place outside her san francisco office over that visit. organizers say the house speaker's trip would escalate tensions with china and might provoke a war. pelosi is currently touring asia, she is in malaysia today. the white house says they recommended against the trip, but have no power to stop it. china has called this visit a provocation. >> it is not uncommon for congressional leaders to travel to taiwan. it is very much in keeping with our policy, and consistent in support to our taiwan under the taiwan relations act. reggie: china views taiwan as a part of its nation and a breakaway province. kumasi: governor newsom has declared a state of emergency surrounding the key pox. he said he did it to support the states response to the vaccines rollout. good morning, ryan.

ryan: that state of emergency is designed to allocate more resources towards getting people vaccinated. the only problem is, it does not address the ongoing supply issue with the vaccines. local lawmakers say that relies on the federal government, and they are still working to get more vaccines from them. regardless, there are going to be more vaccines available at sf general. that clinics reopens -- that clinic reopens at 8:00 a.m. they were able to vaccinate people yesterday and are able to give doses out again today. 950 is not a lot compared to how many people need or want to get the vaccine. this ongoing issue of supply being the big issue here, lawmakers say there may to need the government's help to get them. >> we made an initial request of 35,000 vaccines.

we need at least 70,000. it is heartbreaking we cannot produce them ourselves and make them available. i wish that were the case, i wish there was more we could do. we are being very aggressive with the department of health and human services to get more. ryan: that is a big number when you consider how little many doses have been distributed over this month. today's clinic, the same rules apply as we have seen in the past. they open at 8:00 a.m. today, we have not seen anybody line up yet. at this time yesterday, there were already several dozens of people in line. that is good news for anybody planning up to go out today compared to yesterday. still expect a lot of the same issues we have been seeing, low supply and high demand. getting early is the best recommended method. ryan curry, abc 7 news. kumasi: we have everything you need to know about monkeypox, including vaccines and treatment.

the money will go towards strengthening to reduce efforts in shootings, the mayor is expected to be there. kumasi: near the oregon border, the mckinney fire is continuing to rage out of control. nearly 56,000 acres and burns since it started on friday. it has been a problem for firefighters, the rain has helped slow down the fire. the planes have -- flames have leveled several homes and wiped out small towns. >> this hurts, right here. it was standing so nice. i watched it from my bedroom, i watched everything come. it was headed right straight towards our property. kumasi: more than 2000 people have been told they need to evacuate. at least two people have died in this fire, this is the largest wildfire in california this

reggie: alayna mann dragon was killed in 2017 when officers fired into her car that she was writing and when trying to arrest the driver. in june, a federal jury awarded her family $21 million in damages. according to our media partner, the east bay times, the city is asking a judge to override the verdict or agree to a new trial. they say the damages are, "grossly excessive given the facts of the case." the family attorney claims this is an approach to delay justice. kumasi: a san jose police

officer could be facing criminal charges for a dui. were darius surrey was one of two drivers involved in a crash sunday night, he was off duty at the time. investigators say surrey displayed symptoms of alcohol influence and was booked into jail. the san jose -- will decide on charges. we are learning how many jobs were lost after the amy's kitchen plant in san jose shut down last month. our media partner is reporting 3300 jobs were eliminated. manufacturing jobs were hit hardest. operations at the plant are expected to wind down the next few months. reggie: tonight is the national night out block party, dedicated to improving relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve. there will be music, youth events and business from emergency personnel. here are a few of the events

s.f. general, that clinic opening at 8:00 a.m. as we have seen in past. issue we are dealing with is the massive issue on supply, not many doses versus a lot of people wanting to get the vaccine. the good news is about this morning, we are not seeing as many people in line. foreoplentested in getting this vaccine today, it is probably not going to be as intuitive, meaning, go now and get a good spot in line to ensure you can get a vaccine once the clinic opens later this morning. the state of emergency is designed to allocate as many resources to helping people get the vaccine. it is a promising sign that lawmakers say the governor is on board with this. they are not taking any issue right now as far as the supply, they say that has got to come from the federal government. again, mentioning this clinic today, they hope to give out as many doses as they did yesterday, which was 950. that is still not as many doses as you probably would think,

given the fact that so many people want or need to get the vaccine. with this governor's action, they hope lawmakers take more to get the vaccine supply up. >> when counties have to set up vaccine clinics to administer the vaccine, they have to pay staff. they have to pay for the site, for the outreach to make sure people know about it. they have to pay for the supplies, other than the vaccine shots themselves. ryan: that is where the resources from the state of emergency can help. it does not do much to address the low supply issue. lawmakers say the federal government is going to have to step up efforts to do that. they are going to need them to spearhead the issue to get the vaccines to the supplies they need, and order to get them into the arms of people who need to get the vaccines right now. we are seeing action from lawmakers, that should hope lee help people in the community wanting to get the vaccine or needing to get the vaccine.
