out by hellfire missiles. the strike is so precise he was taken out while standing on a balcony in kabul and there were no civilian cable to use -- no civilian casualties. >> justice has been delivered and this terrorist leader is no more. people no longer need to fear the vicious and determined to kill her. no matter where you hide, if you are a threat to our people the united states will find you and take you out. jobina: al-zawahiri was second in command to osama bin laden. he took over as al qaeda's leader after bin laden was killed in 2011. the strike comes one year after president biden ordered the withdrawal of u.s. troops from afghanistan prompting taliban forces to seize control of the nation. kumasi: bay area families are reacting to that announcement.

what governor newsom's emergency order means in the fight for more vaccine. >> good morning. that state of emergency is designed to allocate more resources and get more people vaccinated. it doesn't seem to address the ongoing problem of the supply when it comes to this vaccine. they still need people to get more vaccines out to the people who need them and they say that's going to have to come from the federal government. we are going to see another vaccination clinic here this morning. the good news they were able to vaccinate more people yesterday at 950 doses. 950 is still not a lot compared to how many people want or need to get the vaccine. lawmakers say they are going to need more doses and they are

kumasi: a san jose police officer could be facing criminal charges after being arrested for dui. the officer was one of two drivers involved in a crash on sunday night. he was off-duty at the time. investigators say he displayed symptoms of alcohol influence and was booked into jail. the santa clara county district attorney's office will be deciding on formal charges. he is a three year veteran of the san jose police department. reggie: elaine i'm on dragon was killed when officers fired into a car she was riding in. in june a federal jury awarded her family damages. the city is now asking a judge to override that verdict, lower damages or agree to a new trial. they say the damages are grossly excessive given the facts of the

ryan curry is live in the city with with this order might mean for vaccine demand. >> we are here at san francisco general. that state of emergency just allocating different resources to help people get the vaccine. not necessarily addressing the supply issue we've been seeing and that ongoing high demand that a lot of people want when it comes to this vaccine. we are seeing a good amount of people in line trying to get the vaccine dose. lawmakers see this as a good key that a blind eye is not being turned to this issue. in the last half hour or so it has grown significantly. the good news, a lot of people yesterday were able to get vaccinated at around 950.

but 950 is still not nearly as many as the people who really want to go and get vaccinated. talking about the demand for thousands of doses, they are going to need more. >> when counties have to set up vaccine clinics to administer the vaccines, they have to pay staff, they have to pay for the site, they have to pay for the outreach to make sure people know about it. they have to pay for the supplies other than the vaccine shots themselves. >> that is where the resources can help. that way people can get the vaccines they need. the clinic starts at 8:00.
