again, investigators say that attack was unprovoked. >> system of these are our most vulnerable residents. and when they are attacked it tends to draw a lot more attention from people. dion: they will interview the suspect to determine whether racial bias has anything to do with the assault. yerby is facing numerous assault charges. this has prompted the asian-american community to mobilize for answers against the aapi comm community. activists had a strong message. reporter: community activists called for violence against the aapi community to stop. >> people are scared.

out of northern california with the effort to put out the mckinney fire. the biggest blaze in the state this year is burning siscu county near the oregon bored and has wiped out dozens of other buildings. four bo bodies have been found n that fire zone. the fire erupted on july 29th and has been fueled by wednesday from thunderstorms. it is just 40% contained. firefighters say they're making good progress and slowing down the yeti fire. it was starts by lightening on july 29th and started the very same day the mckinney fire broke out. fire officials say the entire southern edge has been contained. the yeti fire has burned about 8,000 acres. burning near yosemite national park is now close to full containment. that fire has burned close to 20,000 acres most being homes. it has been burning since july
