>> shark attacks are very rare and two in one location in two months, that is even rarer. dan: rare but reality. new details from monterey coast each goers who witnessed a shark attack today, this time a paddleboard border and his dog escaping without injuries. think you for joining us. i am dan ashley. ama: and i am ama daetz. this is the second attack at the beach in months. amanda del castillo has more. amanda: the weather conditions offered the perfect opportunity to get outdoors. kensington sampson edwards was there with her family. she noticed kayakers and paddle borders rushing to shore. she learned there had been a shark attack. a man and his dog walked away unscathed. >> he told us what happened and

said that the shark was about as long as his second -- paddleboard. >> there was only one shark in this area that could have done that, and that is a white shark. amanda: david ebert estimates that the shirt could be two or three years old. >> they start out with green mammals, and they will start investigating paddle boards more because they moved to larger prey. amanda: hebert says it is likely because the shark was only exploring, adjusting its bite in the process. pacific grove police say the paddle border and his diver were about 100 yards from the peer. >> he was taking his dog out and there was a life vest underneath, so it could have gone bad. amanda: concerns swelling as

today, kiely rodni's parents spoke at a town hall meeting hoping for more information. j.r. stone has been tracking the story and joins us tonight. you spoke with a friend who was with her when she disappeared. j.r.: a teen told me earlier this evening there is lots of drinking going on at this party, but said that kiely didn't seem to be having any issues with anyone. this evening, her father spoke to people in a crowd in truckee. >> we need answers. my daughter is a straight a student. on her way to uc santa cruz. at 16, she is 16, going to college. this is tahoe. this is not supposed to happen here. j.r.: this surveillance image was taken friday afternoon just hours before kiely rodni went to

that party and told hundreds of teens were there. not only from the lake tahoe region, but a number of people from the bay area where there too. her phone was turned off just after 12:30 a.m. on saturday. her whereabouts unknown since that time. for five days, crews have searched and they have updated their efforts in the tahoe region earlier today. >> we do not have any new leads and that is very frustrating. we are struggling with clues, so the searches are not super successful. at this point, we have a point last seen and we are expanding beyond that in a systematic way. j.r.: there are dozens of fbi agent's now involved with this case. a neighbor living near the party site took this photo on tuesday as the fbi questioned those in the area. also a picture of this sweatshirt was released today.

it has song lyrics on the front that read, you do not want to be forgotten, you just want to disappear. the police say that kiely rodni were in possession of that sweatshirt, but those at the party said it was hot outside and do not remember her wearing a sweatshirt. they have had divers in the water, but those folks have not found any lose. -- any clues. was this an abduction? sadly, officials do not have those answers tonight. dan: we are waiting for those answers. in the east bay, people in the community made their voices heard in oakland about the protest at a closed ousd school. a man who was stopped by police says he is now planning to sue. tim johns was there and has more , including the superintendent's response. tim: anger and frustration

outside of schools and oakland. entrance -- tensions have been rising over the closure of several schools at the oakland unified school district. parents who occupied those schools clashed with officers. >> someone said, take them down. i went down, sustained injuries. i was put in handcuffs. tim: roscoe showed us bruises on his arm and along his lip, injuries he claimed that he got within encounter from one of the security personnel. >> also my neck. tim: roscoe says he plans on pressing charges, but he tells us he is determined to keep fighting to reopen the now closed schools. after wednesday's rally, he joined dozens of other parents at ousd's first school meeting

to criticize the events that unfolded. the meeting was the first time that the public has heard from ousd officials the incident. >> there were physical confrontations between the individuals attempting to enter the tilting and security staff who were trying to keep people out. the incident is officially under review. however, the district does not condone violence anyone. casey: -- tim: not all members agreed with the move. >> this is the thing that makes it hard for us to move forward as a community. even when there is an effort to do things the right way to change the direction, we fall back and we fall back in a spectacular fashion. tim: with school board elections coming up in november, orozco himself says the fight is far from over as he plans to run for a seat. >> we will hold every single
