the search warrant was based on an fbi informant who told agents them are classified documents hidden at the mar-a-lago estate. fbi director christopher wray was asked. about the search yesterday. he said he could not talk about it but many republicans demanded answers. >> how come you did not negotiate something with the president like you did with hillary clinton about her emails? jobina: yesterday, trump was deposed by new york's attorney general during a separate investigation into his personal business. he answered a question about his name and then cited the fifth amendment. it is something he attacked opponents about. trump said he had no choice because of what he feels are partisan attacks. kumasi: a central coast beach is closed until saturday after a shark attack in monterey bay.

a paddle border and his dog escaped without serious injury. >> for lovers point beachgoers in pacific grove, wednesday morning's weather conditions offer the perfect opportunity to get outdoors. a 10-year-old was there with her family, getting ready to enter the water when she noticed kayakers and paddle borders rushing to shore. she learned there had been a shark attack. a man and his dog walking away unscathed. >> he told us what happened. he said the shark was long. >> paddle boards are typically 10 to 11 feet long. the shark that attacked it left behind clear bite marks. >> there is only one shark in this area that could have done that and that was a white shark. >> the director of a research center said the shark could be two to three years old. >> things like paddle boards and

skin and that require special training. one doctor was among those taking part in a call to discuss the change. >> the main topic of the meeting was how this might rollout across the state. it will be a game changer for us. if we can use five doses per vial instead of one. reggie: health officials say they do not know if the vaccine will work as well when administered like this. it will be at least several days until most counties make the switch. vice president kamala harris is in the bay area for a roundtable discussion about reproductive health there in san francisco. tomorrow she will attend two events in oakland. kumasi: governor newsom today will be talking about climate change. his office says he will announce water supply options to help california adapt to drier weather. ryan curry has the details.

ryan: good morning. the governor will be here to talk about the state's transition to hotter and drier conditions as we continue with this ongoing severe drought situation. new plans are to be announced by the governor about what the response is to combating this long drought situation we are now facing in california. a look at the current map shows most of california is in a pretty severe drought situation, especially in the bay area. we are in the "severe" category right now. we are still in the middle of summer and that hot weather is expected to come well before we see any rain. governor newsom a year ago asked californians to be mindful about their water usage. he wanted to stay to cut back usage by about 15% and not many in the state did that. we are expecting more action from the state to combat this issue.

drought experts say water usage should be limited especially in urban areas. >> you are looking at more efficient plumbing fixtures, reducing outdoor water use for lawn irrigation, those kind of things. -- ryan: conservation efforts in any effort can help. the governor is expected to talk about the impact climate change has on this current drought situation and how the state plans to combat that. he said many of the two are correlated. that announcement comes later this morning as we expect responses about how to handle the state's drought. spencer: let's take a look at what is going on with our weather. we have calm wind around the bay area, except for san francisco, 26 mile per hour winds.

parker elementary in oakland. a man protesting the closure plans to sue the district. he said guards hurt him last week. tim johns was at a school board meeting where the man spoke. tim: anger and frustration at a rally outside la escuelita school. tensions have been rising over the closure of several schools in the oakland unified school district. they reached a boiling point. this video was provided to abc 7 news by some of the protesters. >> someone said take him down. i went down, sustained injuries. i was put in handcuffs. >> max orozco was one of those protesting. he showed us bruises on his arms and a cut on his lip, injuries he claims he got from a fight with security personnel. >> my chest, back and neck. >> he said he has been to the

governor newsom is set to announce a new water supply strategy. he will be in contra costa county to provide details about the plan. ryan curry is live in lafayette with more on what we can expect. ryan: the governor is expected to talk about how climate change has affected the current drought situation, leading to hotter and drier conditions as we have seen far too many times this year. he is expected to talk about new leadership taking over the state's infrastructure. we talk about the current drought situation. the map showing how severe it is throughout the entire state. in the bay area, we are in the severe category. we know other parts of the state are in much worse shape, especially the further south you go. conservation efforts have not on the way governor newsom originally wanted.

reggie: we are learning new details about a july crash involving an amtrak train and a union pacific maintenance machine. four people were hurt. an ntsb report found the crash caused $265,000 in damage. gate arms were working. the crash happened as the machine was coming off the tracks near 50th avenue. kumasi: the u.s. department of transportation is fondling millions of dollars to san francisco for safety upgrades. according to city records, there were 152 crashes on howard in five years. more than half of those involved bicyclists or pedestrians. $23 million pledged will go to work safety improvements. howard street will be reduced to
