of the search warrant related to monday's fbi search of his mar-a-lago estate. we have additional details regarding that. what we know is that sources tell abc news the documents were classified and had national security implications. they also say some of the documents were labeled special access, which is the highest level of security access. he was subpoenaed for the documents earlier this year. the search on monday came only after the justice department concluded he had not turned over everything demanded by the subpoena. >> that could explain why the department of justice felt the need to go in there with a criminal search warrant. maybe this is the explanation for why they had to use these more intrusive means, that because they tried to subpoena, they tried to get the documents and did not get them. jobina: merrick garland announced yesterday the doj filed a court motion to unseal

the search warrant and show what was taken by fbi agents. a judge has given trump's lawyers until noon our time to report back on whether trump opposes a motion to unseal. based on postings on social media, it does not appear he will. reggie: following the search, there has been a sharp rise in violent and extremist rhetoric online. representative eric swalwell. a verbally abusive message was left for his district office with 55 profanities, multiple swearwords and racial slurs. he is certainly not alone. for a period of time on monday, the phrase "civil war" was even trending on twitter. he says the growing trend poses a grave danger for the nation as a whole. >> our country is at a very dangerous point right now in its history. i would say democracy is on life support. reggie: swell well is worried

that fringe ideas are now becoming more mainstream. despite the rise, he says he still holds much hope for america. kumasi: an important part of building a better bay area, this morning, the nation's top public health agency is relaxing some covid-19 guidelines because most americans 16 and older have acquired some level of immunity. ryan curry live in walnut creek with more on what local health experts are saying. ryan: good morning. the cdc essentially dropping the major social distancing requirement saying that most of us have some sort of immunity either by actually getting covid or by getting a vaccine. here in the bay area, abc 7 spoke with local health experts about what this possibly means for our region. they say this is about reality matching up with recommendations. that six feet of social

distancing is no longer recommended, nor is the test to stay practice for k-12 schools. they're also relaxing quarantine time if you have covid. these new recommendations are that if you have covid, you can and isolation after five days if you have a fever. if you are fever free, for 24 hours. you should still wear a mask in that 24 hour period. local health experts say this was bound to happen eventually. >> we are exposed constantly because there is so much virus going around that i think pragmatically, the idea of quarantining was out the window a long time ago. ryan: the cdc's message is minimize the impact the virus has on health care systems, people and our communities. walnut creek, this place usually on a friday or saturday night is bustling with a lot of people going to bars or restaurants. we remember a scenario not too

long ago where all of that was shut down during the beginning parts of covid. it has been back to as close as normal as possible, but with these new relaxed guidelines, now, it is feeling much more comfortable. reggie: thank you. a napa doctor will be sentenced in november for selling fake vaccination cards. he pleaded guilty last year to one count of wire fraud aof she fired her attorneys and tried to vacate her plea in court wednesday saying she did not break any laws. a judge denied that request. federal prosecutors say fake vaccine cards to at least 200 people. they also said she sold -- falsely claiming those doses provided lifelong immunity to the virus. a heads up if you are looking for a monkeypox vaccine. san francisco plans to open a second walk in clinic tomorrow

at kaiser permanente sf medical center. that clinic will be from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. zuckerberg sf general's clinic will also be open tomorrow for walk-ins. kumasi: the bacteria that causes legionnaires' disease has been found that more locations in napa county. it was also found in a pond at the embassy suites on california boulevard. last week, the bacteria was also identified at a link tower at the same hotel. it is caused by bacteria that grows in warm water, often from air conditioning units, hot tubs, fountains or plumbing systems. 13 people in napa county have been diagnosed since july 11. one person died and two others are still in the hospital. reggie: governor newsom is

spencer: how high will our high temperatures go? we expect temperatures in the upper 60's at the coast. even milder around the bay shoreline with generally mid 70's. some locations near the bay will be even warmer. inland, generally in the mid to upper 80's. we will see a few low 90's. we are going to have generally moderate to good air quality even as tempers are rising going into early next week. here is the accuweather 7 day forecast. temperatures especially inland rising two to four degrees each day going into monday which will be our hottest day. a bit of summer sizzle inland with highs near 100 and the hottest spot. temperatures will start to moderate a bit going into the middle and end of next week. jobina: it has been a pretty light morning for your commute. you should not have any problems if you need to head out the door. metering lights are already on at the bay bridge toll plaza.

are viable. kumasi: the former san francis co police commissioner is entering the district attorney race. he resigned from the police commission back in april after a disagreement with the police chief. reggie: san francisco's castro theater, committee members pushed the new management to rethink renovation plans. among the projects, redoing a section of seats. protesters showed up thursday night in opposition. they don't want the historic theater to be ripped apart. another entertainment plan plans to open the ceiling and take out lower-level seats adding tables for standing and sitting. >> save the seats. >> they obviously believe they

we have upper 50's and most other locations. we are going to warm up to about 90 in the warmest inland spot today. most other inland areas will have highs in the upper 80's. mid-seventies around the bay and mild upper 60's on the coast. lovely friday. reggie: we now turn to your health. one of the pillars of building a better bay area. the cdc has made a major announcement on covid-19 guidelines. it includes changes to social distancing, recommendations for quarantining and what to do when you are exposed to someone who is positive. mariah carey is live in walnut creek raking down what we need to know. ryan: good morning. it is a really big change or changes coming from the cdc about these covid guidelines. a lot of the recommendations that have been in place for the last couple of years are now being relaxed, especially the social distancing guideline. that six feet of social distancing no longer being recommended by the cdc. abc 7 news did speak with local

sort of requirements are not out of the realm of possibility as well. jurisdictions still have the power to implement things like mask mandates and other sort of requirements. that comes when we see surges of covid-19 in the area. we are not really seeing that right now so a lot of these recommendations being relaxed. a sense of normalcy. we keep saying that, being returned and recommendations and requirements being relaxed. kumasi: new details this morning about the man police say tried to break into the fbi's field office in cincinnati. that suspect was eventually killed by officers after an hours long standoff. this is coming as law-enforcement officials confirmed there has been an increase in threats against agents. jobina: the investigation is focusing on social media posts

that call for violence in the days after the fbi search at mar-a-lago. abc news has reviewed a series of recent posts. two accounts believed to have belonged to the suspect. his posts called for war and for fbi agent to be killed "on site." in one post yesterday, he detailed his failed attempt to enter the fbi office building. previous social media posts also claimed he was present at the u.s. capitol during the january 6 riot and reportedly mentioned the proud boys. authorities say yesterday morning, he dressed in body armor with an ar-15 and a nail gun, tried to break into the visitors screening facility. >> he was unsuccessful and fled that area. jobina: he then drove 60 miles down a highway shooting from his car. officers managed to corner the suspect in a cornfield. they say they shot and killed him after he raised a gun toward

officers. reggie: new developments about the san francisco high-rise that has been shut down for months after catastrophic flooding. there is no more flooding at 33 tahoma. the first flood forced residents of from the building. this week, another week forced the evacuation of construction workers fixing the building. one of the residence says she discovered more than just water damage. >> we have missing items from our appointment -- apartment. there are late-night intruders coming in and being caught on our neighbors cameras. those of them who are lucky enough to have internet. reggie:nt to the ne, the have security on site and residents should notify police and the company if there is suspicious activity in their apartments. they also address accusations residents are being forced to pay utility bills for their

units. they say that is misinformation and the company will cover the cost of utilities at this time. kumasi: an investigation is underway after 21,000 fish used for research were found at uc davis. species of fish including endangered gen x salmon were found at the uc davis center for biology and aquaculture. it seems these fish were exposed to chlorine. only a small amount of them have survived. uc davis says they are going to hold themselves accountable to prevent this tragic incident from happening again. faculty members are working to contact collaborators and funding agencies about the incident. reggie: the house is expected to pass the inflation reduction act. the $50 billion bill includes a $300 billion investment for clean energy and reform. medicare can negotiate lower prices for prescriptions and a cap can be placed on those prices.

the bill will put a 15% income tax on large corporations making more than $1 billion. kumasi: today, kamala harris is returning to her hometown. she is joining the mayor to promote the generation fund. this is a $50 million cause i endowment supporting every low income public school student and baby born into poverty through 2035. the fund will expand the program establishing a $500 college savings account for each baby born to medi-cal eligible parents. the other children will get $1000 a year for scholarships while pursuing college degrees or trade certificates. in all, the generation fund will serve about 30,000 oakland students. reggie: there is a state investigation into the recall campaign against the former da. the commission is looking into allegations campaign finance laws were violated.

the complaint says neighbors for a better san francisco advocacy created an earmarking scheme to hide information about individual donors who helped fund the recall effort. california law bans contributions through an intermediary unless properly disclosed which the complaint says the organizations did not do. so far, none of the groups have responded to the accusations. kumasi: an initiative designed to improve traffic safety is getting a boost. city leaders announced they are getting $10 million in additional funding from the state. the new round of funding will go towards safety improvements along the east san jose corridor. >> this is the dangerous of those corridors. attempting to invest in making these corridors much safer throughout our entire city, but we have limited resources in both money and staff time. kumasi: the goal of san jose's vision zero initiative is to

eventually eliminate traffic deaths by pushing for improved safety measures, lowering speed limits in some areas and making sure police are enforcing traffic laws. reggie: there is one hour a day where bay bridge traffic is busier than pre-pandemic levels and it is right now. the chronicle reports new numbers show congestion on the bridge between 6:00 and 7:00 on friday mornings. of course, i am looking at zero traffic on the bridge right now. i don't know. that is with the number says anaytraffic is quicker to subsie now than it was before the pandemic. the most popular days on the bridge has also shifted. saturday became the most popular day pre-pandemic. now, it has been pushed out of the top three by thursday and wednesday. overall, traffic is still down across all bay area bridges compared to this time three years ago. kumasi: we are closer to
