>> building a better bay area, moving forward, finding solutions, this is abc 7 news. liz: a federal judge conceals a search warrant used in the fbi raid of former president trump's mar-a-lago estate revealing two dozen boxes of government documents. in morning it is saturday august 13th, thank you for joining us on this busy week. let us look at the weather with lisa. lisa: good morning. we have our fog that is quickly scattering this morning leading to a sunny day. there is a look at our visible picture to the san mateo coast, half moon bay and pacifica looking at patchy fog. sunny downtown with 59 in the

city. 65, cal -- palo alto with a little bit of fog. sutro shows the fog really beginning to just be around the bay in patches. 61 petaluma. temperatures in the upper 50's in santa cruz going to the 80's today. we will be in the 80's by noon and 70's around the bay and made 80's bayshore. temperatures coming up today. tomorrow the hotter day of the weekend and wait until you see the week ahead. liz: we are learning from the release of the search warrant from mar-a-lago that the fbi seized two dozen boxes including highly classified documents and we know that federal investigators were looking into three potential crimes, one of them espionage. we have the latest. >> this morning the newly unsealed search warrant's shedding light on fbi agents were looking for at mar-a-lago and what they seized.

according to the documents made public by a federal judge, agents were searching for evidence of three potential crimes, violations of the espionage act, unlawful removal of public records and obstruction of justice by concealing, altering, or destroying records to impede an investigation. they found 27 box of government records inc sets i have been convinced all along that this case is bigger than just having or mishandling classified documents. it has to do with what has been done with the documents, why does the former president even have them. have they been transmitted to other people? >> trump attorney -- trump's attorney given this receipt given what was detail -- detailing what was taken by federal agents. four sets of documents were marked top secret sci, a classification reserve for the most sensitive intelligence and

national security information. typically only viewed in a highly secure location. it does not say what the classified information was. the washington post reporting that among the materials was some related to the u.s. nuclear weapons program. abc news learning that the doj issued a subpoena and sent a small group of federal agents to of ath documents before executg the search warrant. it includes an item marked the president of france, another executive granted clemency for roger stone. it included photos and a handwritten note. before the warrant was made public, house republicans calling for more information, demanding evidence of an imminent security threat to justify the search. >> the fbi raid is an abuse and overreach of its authority. >> democrats arguing that no one is above the law and reflecting

on the potential seriousness of the crimes. >> when we are talking about classified information about information that if it falls to the law -- into the wrong hands it could lead to the deaths of troops and intelligence officers. >> the white house has not commented on any of this saying that they were not given a heads up on doj's move to unsealed a search warrant. the white house says that president biden believes that the doj should be independent. liz: we sent this notification on our news app as we livestream a report on the findings. if you want breaking news alerts in the future download our app just search abc7news bay area. a man is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after being hit by a flywheel taxi in san francisco on vanness and mcallister after 8:00 last night. the victim was a pedestrian it is unclear what led up to the crash. the driver of the car is cooperating and drugs and

alcohol did not appear to be a factor. police are asking witnesses due to -- to contact -- to contact the department's tip line. two people are being arrested after the shooting of an uber driver which has rocked the local immunity in little saigon. tim johns spoke with the victim's fiance and shares her reaction. tim: on july 17 patrick was guns now -- guns down near little saigon in what i call an attempted robbery. their valence radio shows him sitting inside of his car before being approached by two people. when they tell him to get out and he does not the shot that he ended -- that ended his life could be heard. >> i could not sleep, or eat and i have a very harsh life in this moment. tim: judy spoke to us on friday with the help of two translators. earlier in the day the police department announced that they

arrested two people in connection with his murder. >> i feel a little bit comfortable because now the two killers were arrested. tim: in the aftermath the oakland chinatown improvement council set up a gofundme for judy and the rest of his family. it has raised over $100,000. it is a milestone that the group attributes to people being able to relate to the type of person he was. >> he was hard-working and took care of family. tim: the council has been in touch with her every day since the shooting saying that as crimes against the api community have risen they have become an more determined to stand up to their community and help people like judy. >> we are different. the asians are different now. we are more likely to stand up to crime. tim: the investigation is still ongoing as they continue to look for more possible suspects. for those that have already been

caught judy says that she hopes they are held accountable to the fullest extent of the law. >> i hope, ok they can -- the judge will set a hard sentence. liz: my heart goes out to that family. new details this morning, 12 people are displaced after a crash marked a large fire at an apartment tilting in san jose. a car clipped a gas line before crashing into the building. it happens near callahan park at about 4:00 p.m. yesterday, four units were significantly damaged and the fire happened in an instant. >> i was getting my from daycare and i saw the car burst into fire and the- and w builng went in fire bween fi-n five or six second the drid a firefighter was transported to a nearby hospital with minor

injuries after the vehicle' exploded. >> unfortunately the vehicle hit where the meter is, so we were unable to get to get the actual shut off valves which is why we are working with pg&e to dig up the line. liz: they were able to knock down the fire and they are working on the scene to monitor hotspots. the fight to reopen oakwood school continues. avril doesn't people gathered yesterday outside the now closed parker elementary school. they held a vigil in solidarity with those occupying the school, any who have been there since may. it is one of schools that the school board voted to close due to budget concerns. the district condemned the vigil saying the group's trespassing and they are not allowed to host any events on campus. even so they plan to hold a town hall meeting at parker tomorrow. san francisco remains a hotspot for monkeypox with over 500 confirmed cases. santa clara and alameda counties

have over 50 cases. getting the vaccine in san francisco is getting easier. zuckerberg san francisco general hospital is offering shots right now and lena howland spoke with the hospital ceo about the unexpected clinic. lena: morning after morning people seeking the vaccine have lined up at zuckerberg san francisco general hospital. >> i hope -- i think the whole gay community is getting vaccinated. at first it was so hard to do it. i mean, we have to have it, so i am glad to get it today and i hope everyone else can get it. lena: he has been trying for weeks with no luck because of limited supply. will: it is so frustrating, we need this and we are hearing more stories of folks who contracted monkeypox and it is horribly painful, and it is outrageous that we have not been given the vaccine. lena: the hospital ceo says that is about to change as they are

offering their first weekend vaccine clinics in an effort to provide equal access to the vaccines for everyone. >> now what we want to make sure is that we are available to everyone in the community because we want to make sure that we are as convenient and meeting people where they need to be met as possible. lena: san francisco received 10,000 doses at the beginning of the week. >> we get what we get when we get it, and we will be open and have been open this week with 10,000 doses and we will be open tomorrow. we might be open again on monday. and then we will be waiting and seeing what vaccine will be there. lena: the fda offered due to guidance on how the vaccine could be administered to get more doses out of a single vial. her hospital is not doing that at this time. >> we have a lot of clinical experts who look at the data and decide what is the best way to handle a scarce supply of resource, and right now based on

through half moon bay and pescadero. in the upper elevations, the air is dry. here is a look at all the sea lions and we are getting sunshine in the city. and it is not solid deck towards the coast so we will even get some sun there. the wind will be with us keeping temperatures quite comfortable. it is 60 and the city, 63, oh -- oakland and 60's palo alto and san jose as well as santa clara with 60 one half moon bay. as we look at mount tam, temperature is in the low 70's, relative humidity at about 27%. it is dry. 61 santa rosa and 68 fairfield, concord. a look at the golden gate bridge there is fog but it will be not quite as dense as we look at the next couple of days. the ring layer might be compressed so we will have dense

areas at times but it will not make an inland intrusion like it has been. coastal morning fog with warmer conditions around the bay and england looking at warm to hot weather tomorrow near 100 degree heat inland next week and the heat and humidity increased by the middle of the week as well. that is right on through the weekend. as we look at what to expect for sunday, lots of 90's coming into play, not only in the east bay about north bay. made 80's in the south bay. it is pleasant but the sea breeze will be confined to the coast and around the bay. it weakens into monday and 101 by fairfield. mid-90's for danville and santa rosa. well into the triple digits for clearlake, lakeport, ukiah and cloverdale. 90 degrees in san jose if not before tuesday, it has not reached 90 since july 10. it has been a wild four weeks

that we have been stuck in this mild pattern. we are mixing it up today for 72 downtown, mid and upper 60's along the coast and 90's for santa rosa and made 80's a napa looking at 91 in concord and 84 san jose. if you are coming in for the giants game, the pirates, hopefully we will do it again with upper 66 :00 and breezy wind through the 60's overnight, towards 10:00. overnight in the 50's. mid and upper 90's arriving saturday and sunday inland. the bayside communities warm up as well monday and wednesday. very warm inland to hot with the 80's around the bay, staying comfortable at the coast but get ready for summer time sweating and the humidity comes back this week. liz: that humidity has been tough lately. competing and inspiring. at the age of 94, meet the man

liz: in the north bay a championship diving competition is bringing the best of the best together. among those competing a 95-year-old east bay man. cornell barnard shows us bob sherman is still diving in. cornell: divers from across the country are making a splash at the usa masters summer diving championship at -- in nevada. bob sherman from lafayette would not miss his chance on the three meter springboard. at 94 years legend on the diving circuit. >> my special is probably a front dive, full twist. it is thrilling. what could be more exciting. cornell: a navy veteran from

world war ii, he has been in the water since he was a kid and founded the sherman swim school. >> i learned this from mini oakland, i was about four or five years old. cornell: he has been diving for more than 50 years. >> he was one of the founders of this event, and he comes out and does incredible things and he has the whole country cheering for him. cornell: later this weekend he will be taking his diving to new heights on the five meter platform. my best advice is to not look down. he has done backflips off the five meter before making it look easy. he checks the competition roster and no surprise that he is in a league of his own again. >> unfortunately i do not think there is anybody in my age group. cornell: not many divers are willing to take the plunge but bob is and explain spot -- why he will never retire. >> you have to stay vertical at my age because i have friends

>> building a better bay area, moving forward, finding solutions, this is abc 7 news. liz: good morning and thank you for joining us we will start with a look at the weather so let us get back over to lisa. lisa: good morning, waking up to sunshine and here is a look at after fo -- sfo where there is some remnants of cloud cover. 66 palo alto and meadows -- met -- mid 60's. look how pretty it is from the exploratorium camera, 61 santa rosa and upper 60's fairfield and concord. as we get through the next hour, look at the 70's and 80's arriving by noon and on the peninsula the fog is all but scattered out. the wind will pick up a good sea breeze but san francisco warms to the low 70's. 3:00 you can see the 90's inland and more 90's and the north bay.

the south bay will be in the 80's. the fog is still with us but we are hotter into next week and i will be back with a full seven day outlook coming up. liz: u.s. government employees in tijuana and baja california have been instructed to shelter-in-place after reports of violence. the u.s. consulate put a tweet out saying that they are aware of reports of multiple vehicle fires, roadblocks and heavy police activity in mexicali, rosarito, and takata a. many people took shelter in tijuana after burning cars appeared throughout the city and what is suspected to be a court needed active organized crime. we will keep you updated on any developments. developing news from spain, local officials say one person is dead and 17 others are injured after a stage collapsed at a music festival. you can see the crowd of people sitting through the gust of wind, the wind is what brought

down part of the stage at this medusa festival. management suspended the festival for the time being while emergency crews work on site. the national weather service posted on twitter that warm breezes were producing strong wind that impacted the festival. back at home president biden and democrats celebrating a major victory. yesterday the inflation reduction act tightly passed along party lines and is the biggest climate fighting investment in u.s. history helping people with prescription drug costs that it is receiving pushback. karina mitchell has more. karina: a big win for president biden. on friday the house passed a historic $740 billion package on health care and climate change including tax credits for purchasing electric vehicles and tax breaks for americans who install solar panels on their homes. >> it is going to put us on a

trajectory to lower co2 emissions by 40%. karina: it also lowers premiums for americans buying their own insurance, and allows medicare to negotiate the price of certain drugs and limits out-of-pocket prescription drug costs for seniors on medicare to $2000 per year. it also raises taxes on the largest corporations and the wealthiest americans. the nonpartisan congressional budget office says changes would be have a negligible impact the next two years, a sentiment echoed by the analysis at the wharton school at the university of pennsylvania. republicans believe that bill will hurt middle america. >> if you think that the tax code is so complicated and difficult to enforce, maybe simplify the tax code which would be the proper solution instead of trying to catch middle america in their mistakes which they will make on taxes. karina: president biden says he

will sign the bill into law the next week and hold a celebration next month. liz: the inflation reduction act might be a bit misleading because the biggest component is actually an unprecedented climate investment. billions of dollars will be spent to combat climate change. alex padilla says some of the money will go towards wildfire prevention as well as the current drought. >> the inflation reduction act will reduce carbon emissions by 40% in the next eight years, 40% by the end of the decade. the measure includes billions of dollars to address catastrophic wildfires and historic drought in the western united states. it includes $5 billion in grants to support healthy, higher resilient forests and forest conservation. liz: another aspect of the inflation reduction a wil jobs e

driving down energy costs. new developments as the city of sacramento will pay stefon clark's parents $1.7 million ending the family's lawsuit for settling the final remaining portion filed. in 2019 the city agreed to pay $2.4 million to his two children and his parents became sole plaintiffs. stephon clark was killed after being shot in march 20 18. officers mistook a cell phone he was holding as a firearm. vice president kamala harris was back home where she made a big announcement that will impact thousands of oakland kids. the generation fund is a $50 million investment in savings accounts and scholarships. oakland will deposit $500 in a college savings account for every baby born into a low income family and that is the first step. >> this beautiful city will give every graduating oakland public school student from low income

families a $1000 per year scholarship to attend college or learn a trade. liz: the generation fund will serve 30,000 oakland students with college savings and scholarships combined. it will be available through 2035. climate safety concerns especially downtown is prompting action. police department announced it will have an increased presence across the area this weekend and they will be limiting traffic. it follows two deadly shootings early last saturday where two people were wounded. the increased violence was the topic of town hall meetings hosted this past week. one by one cruise lines are dropping their covid-19 vaccination requirements. next month four major cruise lines are making the change. for trips less than 16 days carnival cruise lines and princess cruises will no longer require guests to apply for
