vaccine is getting easier abc 7 news reporter. bernard visited those two clinics in san francisco now offering the vaccine in cornell. this is really promising news it is and you know deon we were very surprised because there were no long lines to the clinics compared to week's past due to high demand in short supply now a new shipment of doses seems to be allowing better access to the monkeypox vaccine. stating what you might be able to expect as far as the side effect to the vaccine dan. kalshan. just got his monkeypox vaccine at zuckerberg san francisco general hospital. he's been searching and waiting for weeks. i know others who have tried very hard to even go outside the city up into marin and even in canada to try and get the vaccine. so i feel very very fortunate the hospital hosted its first weekend monkeypox clinic for walk-ins and those with appointments improving access and equity to the vaccine. we realized that some patients may not be able to take off time from work or come during this sort of hours that we had during the week.

yeah. it was really smooth. we saw no long lines compared to earlier clinics where people waited for hours hospital officials say they've streamlined the registration process for eligible patients san francisco received about 10,000 monkeypox vaccine doses earlier this week from the federal government making this weekend clinic possible. we've been averaging this week about 600 to close to a thousand vaccin. a day, we've not been we've not turned anyone away. we are using the vaccine as quickly as we get it kaiser permanente opened its first walk-in monkeypox vaccine clinic on gary boulevard kaiser members and non-members welcome. we just really want people to come out and get vaccinated if they qualify so that we can do our part in the ending this disease, i mean, you know, it's about protection and it's about taking care of everybody san francisco remains the hot spot in the bay area with over 500 confirmed cases, santa clara and alameda counties have over 50 each. we actually are seen increasing numbers of people coming in to get evaluated treated.

san quentin state prison escape attempt. reardon died of cancer on thursday. he was 73 years old. over in the east bay a man is accused of a deadly hit-and-run that killed a bicyclist and a second car crash that injured a driver. us before for this morning police respond to church lane and willow road a 57 year old man died after being hit by a car then about two miles away a car was going the wrong way and hit a second car police. say the driver who caused that accident was involved in the earlier hidden run. they arrested anthony greenwood of fairfield. happening tomorrow parents protesting the closure of oakland's parker elementary school plan a town hall there several dozen people as you can see gathered yesterday outside the now closed school. they held what they called a vigil in solidarity with those occupying the school many have been there since may the district says the group is trespassing parker is one of several schools the school board

recently voted to close due to budget concerns. moving now to marin county where a sign of the times is happening a free training session on how to use narcan which reverses the effects of a drug overdose. the county holds life-saving first aid training seminars every year, but this year participants were taught how to administer narcan this event was at the village oaks shopping center in novato one of several throughout marin. he's very quickly and with the opiate epide mic everywhere this if administered quickly and correctly the treatment can save someone from dying from a drug overdose the training also included cpr lessons and how to stop traumatic bleeding. developing news now california's biggest wildfire of the year is now 90% contained. the mckinney fire has burned 95

beaches because we have that northwest seabreeze moving at around 36 miles per hour in san francisco even gusting up to 30 miles per hour sfo. and so this will help push the marine layer. overnight into the bay and into the east bay. in fact, i'll show you the forecast animation. we've got we're going to have some low clouds right now along the peninsula coast and then overnight that will expand into the bay and even into parts of the east bay and then notice by lunchtime. mostly sunny skies throughout the afternoon until tomorrow 7 o'clock tonight. it'll start to move in or rather tomorrow night start to move in once again, so we have a very similar pattern in store for the next few days overnight lows will be upper 50s to near 60 cent oakland 60th, san mateo 60, but we'll see some mid 50s through parts of the north bay a little bit cooler there with the clear skies overnight. hi tomorrow little bit warmer compared to today but plenty of sunshine once again in san francisco 73 oakland 79, san jose 85, so we're a little bit warmer than average. we'll see some mid-90s for some
