years. we will have a full breakdown of the ceremony coming up in sports, but first, let's get to reporter tim johns, who talked to both players and fans. tim: it was one of the golden errors in the history of giants baseball, the team taking home a whopping three world series titles between the 2010 and 2014 seasons. on saturday, the 2012 championship team was honored during a special ceremony at oracle park one decade later. >> feels like yesterday, for sure. i know it's been 10 years. tim: for many of the players, it was a reunion years in the making. >> getting back together with f. it makes me go back and remember the beautiful things. tim: but it is also a chance for the team to reconnect with local giants fans. fans that they say are the best in the league. >> they are extraordinarily passionate. every giants fan is unique in

and of themselves. tim: that passion was certainly on display saturday. many fans told abc 7 news they were thrilled to have the opportunity not just to cheer on the current team at this weekend's game but also to welcome the old players back home. >> i'm very excited. >> i really miss the game, but when i get on the field out there with the fans, it's like i do really miss it now. >> i think it is absolutely priceless. in my lifetime to see my team win three times, it is absolutely unbelievable. dion: what an awesome day. moving on, the effort to get people vaccinated for monkeypox expended today in san francisco.

for the first time, two clinics had enough vaccine to take walk-ins. cornell barnard visited those clinics undiscovered there were no lines like we have become accustomed to seeing. cornell: dan just got his monkeypox vaccine. he has been searching and waiting for weeks. >> under others who have tried really hard to go up into marin and even canada to try to get the vaccine, so i feel very fortunate. cornell: the hospital hosted its first week in clinic for monkeypox vaccines, improving access and equity to the vaccine. >> we realized some patients they not be able to take off time from work or come during the hours we have during the week. >> it was really smooth. we saw no long lines compared to earlier clinics where people waited for hours. hospital officials say they have streamlined the registration

process for eligible patients. san francisco received about 10,000 monkeypox vaccine doses earlier this week from the federal government, making this weekend clinic possible. >> we have been averaging about 600 to close to 1000 vaccinations a day. we have not turned anyone away. >> we are using the vaccine as quickly as we get it. >> kaiser permanente opened its first walk in vaccine clinic on gary boulevard. members and nonmembers welcome. >> we just want people to come out and get vaccinated if they qualify so we can do our part in ending this disease. >> it is about protection and about taking care of everybody. >> san francisco remains the hotspot in the area with over 500 confirmed cases. santa clara and alameda counties have over 50 cases each. >> we have seen hospitalizations over monkeypox increase over the last couple of days, so this speaks to the need to try to get

back. dion: a reminder, we have everything you need to know about monkeypox on our website, abc7news.com. in truckee today, a community concert was held to raise awareness about the disappearance of a 16-year-old. ♪ the concert was organized by friends as a way to highlight rodney's lifetime love of music. rodney played the guitar and several other instruments. she vanished several days ago after a campground party in truckee that was attended by upwards of 300 young people. a massive search has been launched to try to find her. quickly are playing her songs and playing things that we hope she can hear so she knows that we are going to find her soon. dion: investigators said today they are frustrated by the lack of leads in the case. they believe someone who attended the party has information about what happened to the team.

new at 11:00, san francisco police and the mother of a cold case murder victim are seeking the public's help to find justice. the 17-year-old was gunned down at the intersection of rove and baker streets in 2006. his mother and law enforcement held a small gathering in hopes information about his death will come forward. since his death, paulette round has become an advocate for families of murder victims. >> our children existed. i want mothers and fathers to know, don't give up. don't give up on your children. i don't care what they did. no one had the right to take their lives. >> a 250,000 dollar reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of aubrey 's killer. a bay area attorney who became a giant in the legal world has died. dennis riordan gained a reputation for freeing the wrongfully convicted.

one of his biggest vocal cases was in 2002 when he argued for a new trial for marjorie miller, who was convicted of second-degree murder after her dogs attacked and killed a neighbor in san francisco. in 1986, he also won a long battle for a black panther convicted of murder in connection with the deadly 1971 san quentin prison escape attempt. riordan died in -- on thursday. he was 73 years old. the panola police department held a free catalytic converter etching session today. residents lined up at public safety buildings this morning where police created a catalytic converter theft prevention program to track down thieves and to return stolen catalytic converters to their rightful owners. the department is working with a local auto repair shop to engrave license numbers. moving to marin county were more

than 1000 residents are now trained on how to properly administer narcan. that's the treatment for a drug overdose. the county holds first aid preparedness events every year. this year, there was a new component, though -- how to save the life of someone experiencing a drug overdose. all of it is in response to the alarming rise of overdoses not justan saves lives very quickly and with the opioid epidemic and so many overdoses everywhere, this is the antidote. >> the county distributed narcan doses to people who stopped by. participants also learned how to perform cpr and stop bleeding after traumatic injuries. coming up, there's a saying that goes it takes a village to raise a child. it is especially true for one east bay program, and today, we got to meet that religion who is helping low-income students

dion: education is one way to help build a better bay area and in antioch, there's a push to help low income students get the tutoring they need. the program was born out of the

pandemic and has helped dozens of students. as abc 7 news reporter tara campbell tells us, the community is stepping up to make sure nobody gets left behind. tara: the sight and sound of bravery. bruno perez sharing his story, helping to raise money for the rnr learning center in antioch. >> i like this place and it makes me happy that i learn a lot of stuff and people help me with stuff that i don't get. tara: bruno is referring to the center's tutoring program. he is one of dozens of low income students it helped out. >> the interesting thing i learned here was doing my homework and staying focused. >> i'm going into the second grade and kind of nervous because i'm getting new friends and stuff. tara: elijah is getting the support he needs right here. >> i learned sight words and math and all that kind of stuff.

tara: born out of the pandemic, the program started as a pilot last summer. >> we did it for three months. it was a huge success. we have, like, 99% of the kids complete it. >> the focus is on getting students caught up in reading comprehension and math. >> we have kids in fourth grade reading at, like, a second grade level. that has been one of the challenges. tara: building off the success of the program, the goal is to offer it year-round. >> to run this program, we need about a few thousand dollars. that's what we need for the year. tara: and the community is getting behind them. ♪ antioch's very own wrapping math teacher -- rapping math teacher making an appearance. this video of him going viral. now lending his voice. >> as a teacher i know that it

can be really expensive and when they said it was free and for low-income students, i was like absolutely, what can i do to help? tara: as for bruno, he's hoping his help will -- his words will help motivate students. >> they will be inspired and do their work, and i hope people get a lot of good grades and be happy where they are. dion: so well said. a distinguished guest with bay area roots helped commemorate the 100th anniversary of the u.s. navy's aircraft carrier. [bell rings] alameda native vice admiral dan dwyer was the guest of honor at a celebration in his hometown. they put on a big tribute to recognize the role these floating aircraft have.

>> first time i came as when she opened as a museum ship, and lieutenant wire led the f-18 liar -- flyer. dion: the vice admiral was greeted to yet another flyover of navy f-18's. a pair as you can see just buzzed by. as you see there, blue skies. let's get to francis joining us from home. francis: it's going to be another gorgeous day to end your weekend. i'm going to start with live doppler 7 and satellite radar looping the last few hours. you will notice the wind coming from the northwest and with this set up, we will still see cooler conditions at the beaches, so temperatures will be in the 60's. check it out right now. temperatures range from near 60 at the bay, brentwood at 70 degrees and still hanging onto 73 in cloverdale.

things are going to heat up even more for tomorrow. here's a look at the forecast animation. we will start with some clouds tonight pushing in to the bay and into the east bay by about 7:00 tomorrow morning but noticed in the afternoon it clears quickly and we will see plenty of sunshine. temperatures will warm up once again. even a little bit warmer than what we saw today. you can expect another gorgeous day, but for tonight, temperatures will not cool off much, either. only near 60 degrees around the bay and in some of our north bay valleys will drop into the 50's because of the clear skies overnight, and then check out tomorrow's highs. the warmest spots will be fairfield, antioch at 96, cloverdale at 97. santa rosa at 93. san francisco, 73. plenty of sunshine with some partly cloudy conditions along the peninsula coast, but

everywhere it will be bright blue skies, and noticed things warm up even more into monday. this warming trend really kicks in tuesday which will be the warmest day, and that's where we will see temperatures near 105 degrees. in ukiah, cloverdale, clearlake, fairfax, antioch, it will be nice to get to the beaches. t-shirt and shorts weather through the day. notice temperatures cool down just a little bit inland. with that in mind, there is an excessive heat watching for solano county, so this is where we can see temperatures climb up to as much as 109 degrees, so the central valley is also going to have a tough time with this heat and high pressure building over the next few days. this is going to affect tuesday through thursday night. overnight lows only drop down to the mid 60's to mid 70's, so stay cool, stay hydrated.

he is the accuweather 7-day forecast. lots of sunshine, temperatures above average, so notice over the next couple of days, we will see mid 90's inland, near 100 and then creeping to possibly even past triple digits on tuesday for inland areas. around the bay, low 80's and mid-80's by tuesday and at the beaches, we will climb up into the upper 60's to near 70. the heat starts to ease thursday. we will see more clouds and temperatures start to moderate a bit, but we look like above average temperatures all week long with plenty of sunshine. stay hydrated and where that sunscreen. it is going to be a hot one for the kids to go back to school this week. dion: always a good reminder, some are definitely not slowing down. thanks. hmm. a lot of people were wondering what exactly they heard this

>> building a better bay area, moving forward, finding solutions, this is abc 7 news. dion: one of former president trump's lawyers signed a statement in june saying all federal documents at his mar-a-lago home had been turned over to federal investigators. it now appears that was not the case. karina mitchell has developments tonight. karina: the unsealed search warrant for monday's fbi raid at mar-a-lago is raising questions about the handling of some of the nation's most sensitive documents. the warrant revealing the fbi was searching for evidence of violations of the espionage act, obstruction of justice by concealing, altering, or destroying records to impede an investigation. agents searched the mar-a-lago

residence only after they were unable to retrieve the documents following two subpoenas and a visit from the fbi in june. agents say they seized 11 sets of classified documents on monday including 4 marked top-secret, and one marked sci, a class occasion for some of the most sensitive national security information. >> when you have information that is so sensitive, who else has had access to it? but maybe more importantly, what has he done with it? karina: in his defense, trump claiming he did declassify the documents, but he did not offer any proof. following the search, republicans were quick to accuse the justice department of playing politics, but no word

from republican congressional leaders since the warrant was made public and now growing concern over threats of violence. abc news getting a look at a joint intelligence bulletin. >> there has been an increase in threats and acts of violence against law enforcement and government officials ever since the rate at former president trump's florida estate. the bulletin also says some of the rhetoric coming from public officials is only escalating the threat. karina: meanwhile, the house intelligence committee chair and house oversight committee chair have sent a letter requesting a damage assessment from u.s. intelligence officials. dion: the suspect accused in the attack on renounced -- renowned "satanic verses" author salman rushdie has pleaded not guilty to murder and assault charges. he's being held in a western new york jail after friday's assault. that is him in the black and white striped jumpsuit.

police say he stabbed rushdie several times as he was introduced during a lecture. the 75-year-old novelist suffered serious injuries and is still in the hospital. today he was moved off a ventilator and is talking according to his publicist. the governor of new york is sending a health warning to residents after polio was detected in the wastewater in new york city. health officials worry the virus is silently spreading. the 1950's polio epidemic impacted over 50,000 americans causing over 3000 deaths. at least 20,000 were left with paralyzing disabilities. recently, a 20-year-old man experienced paralysis in his legs and was diagnosed with virus. americans vaccinated decades ago are wondering if they are still protected. >> if you are vaccinated, it is not something you really have to worry about, but in communities where vaccine coverage is low, we do worry about spread. dion: health officials are warning people who are

unvaccinated to get up-to-date on their vaccines right away. a delta jet backed into another jet at boston's logan airport yesterday. a passenger on the los angeles-bound flight shot photos of the damage. the boeing 757 clip tale of a regional jet as it pushed back from the gate. both flights were canceled because of the mishap. no one was injured. that's the good news. the flyer who took the photo said it was like getting into a fender bender in rush-hour traffic. actor lin-manuel miranda is suing a christian church in texas after he put on an unauthorized performance of hamilton. the church located in mcallen, texas, is under fire for adding an unauthorized christian spain on the play without permission -- unauthorized christian spin on the play without permission. it compared homosexuality to alcoholism and drug addiction.

dion: she's known simply as miss tilly, a san francisco dance icon who has been teaching ballet now for more than 50 years. reportedly on melinda's sat down with matilda abby, as she prepares to retire -- reporter

lyanne melendez. >> ms. tilly's dance studio first opened in 1969. >> one of my very first mothers was nancy pelosi. lyanne: richard nixon was president. ronald reagan, governor of california. san francisco was the heart of the hippie movement. bellbottoms were in. the beatles disbanded, and miss tilly was about to become a household name among many families in san francisco. >> it's just a lot of years. it is most of my life. >> miss tilly did not always teach kids between the ages of three and 12. at a young age, she joined the san francisco ballet, even taught there. she then decided to start her own school. the children left learning much more than ballet. >> it is a question of learning how to -- having them learn how

to follow rules and how to respect each other because so often, children will get in little groups and make fun of somebody else, and that was never allowed in my school. lyanne: alana young was in one of miss tilly's classes, and more recently, her daughter. >> really, this total nostalgia. i think miss tilly has the formula down, and she has just been doing that for years and years. lyanne: but unforeseen circumstances have no force her to retire at the age of 82. >> the pandemic was really difficult because i was sitting down for two years, really. lyanne: like many businesses, when her lease expired, missed tilly found it difficult to pay the rent. >> it was already difficult to pay the rent, and now they are asking even more. lyanne: miss tilly never had a chance to say goodbye to all of her students.
