national park, about 150 people were evacuated after they were stranded for hours, due to impassable roads. >> nobody knew what time we could leave. we thought maybe a couple hours. we didn't know we would be there all night. >> reporter: every weather station is reporting above average rainfall in the area. drought conditions that have parched the soil for months mean a sudden burst of rain can trigger life threatening situations zblfl if this rain come down too heavy too fast, you can see parts of texas with exceptional drought. that is the concern, the flooding and the flash flooding. >> reporter: in utah, the search is underway for a woman swept away in floodwaters at zion national park. authorities say she was one of several hikers taken off guard by rushing waters. all of them made it to higher ground except her. her brother said she cannot swim. now the northeast is bracing for much needed storms. states in extreme drought including rhode island,

connecticut and massachusetts could get more than an inch of rain through tomorrow. delta and united are already issuing travel waivers for anyone who might be impacted by the weather at some northeast airports. it comes days after transportation secretary pete buttigieg sent a warning to airlines saying to improve customer service including help to travelers dealing with delays. 24% of domestic flights have been delayed this year. we'll take a closer look at the weather forecast. breaking overnight, victim and survivors of the school massacre in uvalde, texas, are now part of a massive civil rights lawsuit. an attorney said they'll be seeking $27 billion from law enforcement, city officials, and virtually anyone else who can be held responsible. they claim the victims' constitutional rights were violated during a response to the shooting. >> while they were hearing children screaming, children bleeding, children sending 911

investigating. a developing story from california. there's word that a teenager missing from a camp ground may have been found. not by authorities but by a special dive team made famous by social media. >> reporter: this morning a possible break in the case of a missing teen who seemingly vanished weeks ago. a dive team finding a body and a vehicle in a northern california lake where they've been searching for 16-year-old kiely rodny. the vehicle matches the description of her suv and was found in 14 feet of water a couple hundred yards away from the camp ground where the teen was last seen. rodny attended a party at the camp ground with more than 100 people. some of whom were reportedly drinking. >> we're trying to find out exactly what happened at this point. we believe that someone knows. someone saw her. but they're not coming forward. >> reporter: her mother said she texted her daughter during the party and the teen was planning to drive home that night. >> i asked her to wake me up when she got home. she said she would.

we want to show that modern-day miracles can still happen. >> he's in the hallway with the nurses and he's able to stand up and take some steps. and we couldn't be more grateful. >> reporter: it was a week ago, he was with his little league team from utah. the snow canyon little leaguers. they were in williamsport, pennsylvania, gearing up for the competition when easton suffered that devastating fall. doctors early on giving his family a grim prognosis, that easton, nickname tank, is now beating with every step. i'm just grateful that he's still alive, because i was pretty much told he had a 0% chance to live, his father told the associated press. we feel very fortunate. >> it was a rapidly progressive hematoma. exerting enormous amount of pressure on his brain. >> reporter: after emergency surgery, he's not only learning to walk again, he's able to sit up and drink. >> that boy, he's like, can i get a 44 ounce? >> reporter: his father saying there is a chance of a full recovery.
