56 in redwood city. 60 in fremont with cap interest in the 70's out by the delta. we are three to seven degrees warmer. we have several days of over 100 degrees in the inland valleys. this is the excessive heat warning. heat advisory tomorrow morning until 8:00 on monday for the san francisco bay short and coastline. dangerous heat coming into play. 80's and 90's today. liz: governor newsom has declared a state of emergency as the mill fire has exploded. it is 0% contained and has burned over 3900 acres. 3000 people affected.

>> i see multiple homes on fire in lincoln heights. approximately 200 homes in the line of the direction good i would send every engine we have. liz: the fire was first reported at a lumber mill and quickly spread to dry vegetation close by. the cause of the fire is under investigation. the mountain fire is building just a few miles away from the fire in mead. you can see them both on our tracker appeared the mountain fire has doubled in size and has burned a 1400 acres and is 0% contained and forcing evacuations. we are now entering the fourth consecutive day of a flex alert from 4:00 to 9:00, all californians are being asked to conserve energy. right now we are on the low

of the artemis one. a change in fueling procedures have solved the problem. >> they have looked at it and the only thing that will get in the way if it does is summertime in florida, rain storms, lightning storms. but they are still looking. liz: this week i got the chance to talk more about the historic lunching with a nasa astronaut. so nasa is lunching this historic mission this weekend, at least we hope so. what can people expect? >> this is a huge moment for us at nasa. a long time to get the trajectory to the moon. this first mission, artemis one, is a big milestone, starting off a whole program of artemis missions and it is the final step in the testing of the

rocket and orion capsule with all systems integrated. it will go around the moon, 40,000 miles past the moon and will come 60 miles from the surface of the moon and then come back. it will be a 42 day mission. one of the important elements we are testing is the heat shield, the bottom of the capsule that protects the capsule when it reenters the atmosphere and protects the astronauts inside. a very important part for our standpoint. this without crewmembers. the very next one will have crewmembers. liz: this one is without any astronauts, no humans or what are you watching for that we are good and we can now send estimates to the moon? >> we will be analyzing the phases of the mission through its entirety, looking at the

systems, the thermal system, all of the different elements, even the structure, and in particular the heat shield. that is one we won't have any data on and we will have to wait and retrieve that after the castle -- capsule splashes down into the ocean and once we see how it performs, we will know whether or not there are any changes to be made or if we can put humans on the next one. we can anticipate that the mission would be two years later. that would be going to the moon and not yet landing on it. that will be a 10 date mission. artemis three will be the first landing on the moon. we are working together with spacex. they have the contract to build a lander for the first two. and then in the third one we will have a gateway, which is a

heat morning begins tomorrow morning at 11:00 through 8:00. a heat advisory from 11:00 on sunday for a san francisco, and the bayshore through 8:00 on monday here temperatures up to the 90's through that stretch. as for today, we are in the 70's inland. mid 70's in oakland. look at the piece of fog developing by 4:00 on the peninsula. we will see the mid 90's arriving in wine country, seven to 10 degrees warmer today. liz: another senior pastor way at a silty in walnut creek. told you about the 93-year-old woman who died on monday after she was given dishwashing liquid instead of juice. luz pena spoke to the son of the man who died who said there are similarities to his father's case.

luz: it happened again after tree maxwell died after being served dishwashing liquid instead of juice at this senior living facility. another family coming forward. this time the incident took place in walnut creek the resident was a 94-year-old. the facility said he appeared to suffer a negative reaction on august 23. he died on wednesday. >> the primary job of an assisted care facility is to enhance the lives of seniors and now we have two deaths. luz: this attorney specializes in elder abuse cases and is calling on the state to intervene. >> so far they have duct responsibility. it falls on the state to do something.

luz: he sent a statement -- they sent a statement saying it is likely food related and we await the official cause of death. the staff members involved have been suspended in the meantime. we spoke to his son on the phone who set a worker showed him the cleaning fluid they said he drank. later on, management said he ate hot cheetos and denied the cleaning fluid allegations. his son said medical records show his father had burns to his stomach and esophagus. we dug into the records of the walnut creek facility. social services department has investigated at least six complaints against this facility , some citing the facility failing to provide adequate staffing to meet residents needs and residents suffering injuries.

and victim's has yet to be released. this is the 27th homicide this year. police in lafayette looking for a man who grabbed a 14-year-old at a middle school right after she was dropped off by her parent on monroe avenue. she told police that as she was walking a man grabbed her i the shoulder and held on when she tried to break free. she was able to get away and tell police. this man is wanted in connection with an attempted rape and robbery this past sunday. it happened after 9:30 on parker avenue. the victim was walking down the street when the man armed with a gun approached from hind and tackled the victim to the ground and started sexually assaulting. the yelled but the man ran away and stole her cell phone.
