we are 58 in san francisco 65 in oakland 66 in san jose 59 and a half moon bay 57 here with highs in the mid 80s for santa cruz 56 santa rosa. it is 66 by the delta and in livermore, so we're warmer right now that afternoon will be warmer, but we get into the dangerous heat from 11 o'clock. tomorrow this says through tuesday, but i wouldn't be surprised if this is extended throughout the upcoming work week and our heat advisory for the bayshore the marin county coastline will be up tomorrow into monday. so we will have a sea breeze at a weekend throughout the next several days. but today we're well into the 90s inland and 80s in our east bay, but it remains comfortable at the coast to look at how long it's going to stay over 100 degrees coming up liz. all right, lisa. thanks developing news new video from overnight shows the devastation left behind from a fast-moving wildfire burning in siskiyou county. the mill fire has destroyed nearly 4,000 acres prompting governor newsom to declare a state of emergency to support crews in some good news. we now know it is 20% contained

the fire was first detected in weed. that's about 70 miles north of redding close to the i-5 heading towards the oregon border officials say it has 4,000 to evacuate weed and other nearby areas. family owns the ranch here and my dad's house burned up barn burned up down there lost all our hay or evacuated from our house over in lake shastina. what did you guys grab? some pictures our insurance paperwork wedding dress guns brian hoy says his family saw the fire coming and got out. it was first reported yesterday afternoon at a lumber mill and quickly burned through homes several people have been injured the cause of the fire is under investigation another fire. the mountain fire is burning just a few miles from mill fire in weed. you can see them both on our wildfire tracker there on abc 7. news.com the mountain fire has

new developments in the investigation of the fatal shooting of 23 month old jasper woo in oakland the chp release these photos of two cars. they believe we're involved in the freeway shooting that killed jasper on 880 near 980 interchange last november the cars are 2007 to 2010 great infinity sedan on the left and a great nissan on the right little jasper was mapped in his car seat in the backseat of his mother's car when a stray bullet hit him. the chp is asking anyone with information to call their tip line at 707-917-4491. and in pittsburgh last night at 12 year old is now recovering after being injured in what police believe was a road rage shooting there investigators say the girl's mother was driving with her in the car along with her six-year-old and six-month-old children officers. say nearby buchanan road at harbor street a man pulled alongside the car and fired a single round the 12 year old was

hit in the leg in the mom sped off to a shopping center. please say they have arrested one suspect. all right breaking news just in the nasa launch team is now recommending a no-go for the launch of artemis 1 today. it was scheduled there still is technically scheduled we're waiting for the final decision for this afternoon when it does happen. it will be the second attempt to get artemis 1 off the ground. monday's plan liftoff had to be scrub because of an engine issue nashville officials. say a change in fueling procedures seems to have solved the problem then we're still waiting to use the southern term. they have looked at it from izzard to gizzard. the only thing it's going to get in the way. it does is summertime in florida the rainstorms the lightning storms. but they're still looking. so again, we're still waiting right now to see what the final decision is going to be on whether or not artemis 1 will take off today as of right now. the nasa team is recommending

they delay the next time it would likely happen would be on monday tomorrow is off the table, but it isn't a very exciting mission when it does happen and on abc 7 at 7 this week. i got the chance to talk more about the historic mission with nasa astronaut jessica mere so this first mission artemis 1 is a big milestone because it is starting off a whole program of artemis missions and it is the final step. it is our test flight of the space launch system rocket and also the orion capsule with all the systems integrated and it will go all the way around the moon even further than the apollo missions did go 40,000 miles past the moon and will come about 60 miles from the surface of the moon and then come back. it'll be a 42-day mission and one of the really important elements that we're testing out is the heat shield itself. that's of course the bottom of the capsule that protects the capsule when it reenters the atmosphere and protects all of the astronauts inside so really important part for our standpoint. so this mission is without crew

day 64 in palo alto looking at 66 in san jose, and we haven't had any fog it is sunny in san francisco with 58 in petaluma 56 santa rosa and mid-60s to upper 60s in our inland valleys. so we are about eight degrees warmer from oakland to concord this morning and as we look out towards the golden gate bridge air quality is good. we do have a spare the air alert the south bay has moderate air quality and throughout the day the east bayne south bay air quality will be going down. so as we get the warmer temperatures we link that up with the air quality, which will be getting worse as we build on the heat day-to-day. so tomorrow we get into our excessive heat warning our heat advisory from the bayshore to the coast it is going to last through tuesday could be extended inland beyond that looking at the record highs are all-time records possible elevated fire danger and looking at mild to warm weather at the coast. we don't have offshore winds. we're surrounded by all that 56 degree water temperature along the peninsula here. so that's why we're going to see

some comfortable weather and crowded beaches the fog comes back into play tonight and as you get into your sunday, we'll have patchy fog with the heat is going to climb and we're gonna see temperatures over 100 degrees for your sunday. let's skip ahead to when's day so the holiday is over but the heat still with us with 101 and concord hundred and danville. look at these pinks all the way up through wine country. be into our east bay valleys and even into the south bay and as we get to thursday looks like we could be even hotter for some areas. but notice we have the cooling from the city to the coast even to the east bay, but it's still hotter than average. we could see some records here and then taking you into friday. we get more cooling around the bay but the heat just does not want to budge from our inland valley so plan on a very hot week for the entire week with this excessive heat warning arriving for tomorrow today the coolest day out of the next seven you notice that ocean

our heat advisory the bayshore and the san mateo coast and marine county coastline where temperatures are climbing to the 90's. today we have a warm-up that is basically for our inland valleys where we flirt with 100 degrees. 80's on the east, sea breeze on the peninsula for san francisco, 75, but we will see the heat peak tuesday and wednesday. more details, coming up. liz: thank you. two pieces of breaking news to tell you about. first and foremost, nancy announced the artemis one mission has been postponed. it will not be happening today. they say their team was trying to fix a hardware issue but was unsuccessful. it is unclear when the next attempt will be. there will be a press conference with them later today. more breaking news mississippi, where it appears a small plane is down after officials say the pilot threatened to crash into walmart in tupelo. officials evacuated the store

and the governor treated that state law enforcement and emergency managers are tracking the situation. authorities believe the aircraft was stolen and working to determine whether the pilot is an employee of a local airport. police say the plane started circling earlier this morning and spent more than four hours up in the air. they have made contact with the pilot but it sounds like the situation may now be over. according to radar, it appears the plane crashed about five miles north of bridgetown, mississippi. in the north bay, members of the community are coming forward asking for justice after the takedown of a gardener. a warning, some of the pictures of the body camera video are disturbing. [chanting] >> justice for mateo! liz: they are saying justice for for mateo. they gathered last night to speak out against a video of a violent arrest of a man, mateo,

over an open container of beer in response to an investigation you will only see here on abc 7 news. this video, obtained by dan noyes, shows san rafael police approach a man with an open beer but wind up taking him down, beating him, and charged with felony resisting arrest. the san rafael police chief placed both of the officers on paid administrative leave. the victim has been cleared but is considering a lawsuit. another senior passed away at a facility in walnut creek. we reported on a 93-year-old woman who lived in atria park of san mateo. she died after she was given dishwashing liquid instead of juice. we spoke to the son of the men who died who says there are similarities to his father's case. >> it happened days after 93-year-old trudy maxwell died after being served dishwashing liquid instead of juice. at the san mateo senior living

facility, another family is coming forward, this time the incident took place at the facility in walnut creek. the resident was 94-year-old constantine. the facility said he appeared to suffer a negative reaction on august 23. he died on wednesday. >> the primary job of an assisted care facility is to enhance the lives of senior citizens, and now we have atria which has ended two lives in a week. that is about is an egregious track record as you can get. >> this attorney specializes in elder abuse cases and not involved in either case but calling on the state to intervene. >> what they have done so far is duck responsibility and the onus falls on the state to do something. >> atria sent a statement saying in part, "at this time, we believe it was likely food related. we are completing our internal investigation and await the official cause of death. the staff members involved have

been suspended in the meantime." we spoke to constantine's son on the phone, who says a worker at the facility showed him the cleaning fluid they said he drank. later, atria's management said that he ate hot she does and denied the cleaning fluid allegations. his sunset said medical records show his dad had burns to his stomach and esophagus. we dug into the records of the walnut creek solidity. since 2018, california social services department has investigated at least six complaints against the facility. some cited facility failing to provide adequate staffing to meet resident needs. and a resident sustaining an injury while in care. mccarthy said the state typically releases a list of findings three days after an incident of this type. it has been a week since the first death. all they are saying is "we are investigating." >> they can suspend licenses, so they have the ability to put someone out of business.

liz: we have resources to help ensure the elderly are taken care of safely and with respect. you can find them on our website, abc7news.com /takeactaction. san jose police say a man died after being hit by a car at 3:00 this morning between ridge parkway and center road. the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene. police say this is the 24th pedestrian death this year in san jose. in oakland, police are asking for the public's help to identify this man wanted in connection with an attempted rape and robbery this past sunday after 9:30 in the morning on parker avenue. police say the victim was walking down the street when the men, armed with a gun, approached from behind and tackled the victim to the ground and began sexually assaulting them. the victim screamed for help, the man ran away but stole the victim's cell phone. a search is underway in tennessee for a missing

$50,000 if you are single, and $225,000 if you are head of household. now, the price limits of the car is based on msrp. michael: the top price you can pay to get a rebate is $55,000 for a car, $80,000 for a truck, van or suv. play the system and you can save as much as $8,000 on a new electric or alternative energy car. now, the inflation reduction act allows homeowners to get energy credits that can save them thousands of dollars. there are no income restrictions, but if you buy the wrong products, you will not see government savings. >> $600 on any one item. $600 for exterior windows and skylights. 250 dollars for exterior doors up to the maximum of $500 a year. michael: and there are different rules for solar powered and powered storage, heating systems and hot water appliances.
