remember 27 year old karina castro many of them are still stunned by the gruesome killing in this quiet, san carlos neighborhood at laurel magnolia streets on thursday afternoon, everybody holds together, you know them or not. you just feel you know for the family according to the sheriff's department castro was murdered in the middle of the street. she had her head cut off by a sword authorities say castro and the suspect we're in an ongoing relationship. she had her straining order against him since april on thursday child protective services to custody of castro's daughters. the one year old and seven year old girls were inside the home at the time castro's grandmother turned out to the vigil on this saturday night. i'm trying to be strong for karina mode. i want to support her. i want to make her proud. i want to get her children back. that's my goal. that's all i'm concentrating on. i'm gonna be in court. i'm gonna be in every office every thing can possibly do.

i'll spend my life and get them back if i can the 33 year old man accused of murdering castro, jose rafael. solano landera is now in custody facing murder charges many people out here came to support katrina castro and her family and many also came to take a strong stand against domestic violence. eric james is castro's uncle talk about domestic. abuse domestic violence and don't be afraid to to rise some feathers get out there and say something get out there and help somebody give him some information. the right places castro's death now, perhaps a reason for more people is speak out or take action. stop the violence. in san carlos suzanne fawn abc 7 news a man from merced was arrested today in newark in connection to the death of an eight-year-old girl dante jackson had been on the run for six months and is facing charges of murder and child abuse. eight-year-old sophia. mason was found dead in the home. he shared with sophia's mother.

she was arrested for murder days after sophia's body was found in march jackson's bail is expected to be set at 1 million dollars and he'll be booked at the merced county jail. well, it has been almost eight months since 24 year old alexis gabe of oakley was killed her body has not been found, but her family has recently been able to pick up her car from police. they tell abc 7 news reporter answer hasan. it feels like they have brought a part of alexis home. this is the moment that gabe family was able to pick up their daughter alexis's car which had been in police custody following her murder. alexis's mother rowena drove the car home it hurts because instead of her that we bringing home. it's just a car. so we just hoping that's it for the fbi took the car as part of

county. the so-called mosquito fire is burning just east of forest hill and continues to threaten structures and power lines that fire ignited tuesday and has scorched more than 58 square miles. there is no containment and evacuations are in effect for several communities. flames also forced the closure of more than a mile of the pacific crest trail crews. say the fire spread significantly overnight. and in southern california this after a dangerous heat wave and nearby wildfires. the fairview fire has burned nearly 30,000 acres near hemet resident avery. i've personally been really worried about this whole thing and i saw the fire coming and coming. i'm just like freaking out for them. so i'm just glad that the brain came and hopefully more comes to the fire can actually be gone. yeah, the relief and joy in her

24 hour temperature change now once again emphasize the heat wave is gone, but it is several degrees warmer in most bay area locations right now then at this time last night, here's the view from our suture tower camera clearview as a matter of fact looking at over san francisco where it's 64 degrees right now we have upper 60s in oakland and palo alto 72 at san jose santa clara 70 and 64 at half moon bay. also a nice clear view from the east bay hills camera. looking westward towards san francisco under mainly clear conditions right now, but the humidity is building up a bit. we have mid 60s santa rosa petaluma upper 60s find fairfield concord 71 and 74 in livermore right now and a nice view of calm conditions. looking from the exploratorium camera toward the bay bridge. these are our forecast features. it'll be a bit hazy and human again tomorrow. it's a slight chance of light showers, but we won't we're not expecting measurable rainfall and maybe even some thunder as possible down around the central coast, and it'll be cooler than average going into next week through most of next week.

in fact overnight forecast animation. looks like this. we'll see some of that post that tropical moisture coming up from what was tropical storm k. it has moved way out to see but that moisture is kicking up into the bay area and the likelihood of precipitation is greater down in southern california and along the central coast, but we could see us sprinkle or two here tomorrow overnight lows will be mainly in the low to mid 60s so mild along with the humidity might feel a little bit muggy, but tomorrow we'll see be a pleasant day with partly to mostly cloudy skies ranging from upper 60s at the coast. to upper 70s low 80s near the bayshore line warmest inland areas will be low 90s. so again, no heat wave now look at monday. it'll be even cooler on monday with inland highs mainly in the mid to upper 80s, maybe one location will hit 90 on tuesday cooler still wednesday even cooler. so a nice cooling trend going into next week and speaking of next week. here's the accuweather seven day forecast. look at that wednesday inland highs only up to about 80 degrees.

people who died aboard flight 93 bound for san francisco has just written a book that shares his long road battling depression and trauma. abc 7 news reporter david louis sat down with jack grant colas to share his story. the granite marker at the flight 93 memorial in union city is engraved lauren grancollis and unborn child. lauren was just three months along when the hijackers crashed the plane she was on into a field near shanksville, pennsylvania killing 40 passengers and crew members jack grancolas who was home that day in marin county decided he wanted to write a book dedicated to the boy or girl who would have been the couple's first child. i'll never have full closure always have the scar on my heart, but it's it's certainly a way for me to do something to memorialize the unborn child title like a river to the sea the book describes his years of
