richard no political figure spoke at the ground zero ceremony, but vice president kamala harris and second gentleman, doug em off joined new york city, mayor eric adams and former mayor, michael bloomberg. president joe biden commemorated the anniversary at a remembrance event today at the pentagon american airlines flight 77 was hijacked and crashed into the pentagon killing all 64 people on the plane and 125 people in the pentagon. mr. biden honored those victims and spoke about securing american democracy first lady jill biden spoke today at the flight 93 memorial in shanksville, pennsylvania. we're forty passengers and crew members on the flight made the decision to breach the cockpit and wrestle control from the attackers stopping the terrorists from crashing into the us capitol. plane went down in a field killing everyone on board two men on that flight todd beamer and mark bingham were from los gatos. biden said the attacks showed

new developments tonight in the murder of eight year old sophia mason from hayward. we've learned yesterday that suspect dante jackson had been arrested in newark after avoiding capture for six months. today police said three women were also arrested for helping jackson. they're from san jose newark and merced. jackson was able to loot his capture over the last six months because he had the help of several female acquaintances providing him with money. shelter and transportation police say sophia was subject to long-term physical abuse by her mother and jackson her body was found in march in their home in merced the mother samantha johnson was arrested at that time. coming up in an upcoming improvement project could cause water woes for one bay area city plus a moment. fire crews have been waiting for a progress report in the fight against the largest wildfire burning right now in, california. i'm spencer christian looking at a week that will bring us an almost fall like cool down.

earlier in 1964 that the initial concept to link the region's nine counties had its roots in a 1947 army navy study that promoted a transbay tube. details are included in a book on bart's history written by retired public affairs director, mike healy. they were concerned that if the bridge were knocked out for some reason during a wartime. they would need a way to move troops back and forth and they felt an underwater too would be the answer to that between east bay and west bay voters in san francisco, alameda and contra costa counties in 1962 approved a 792 million dollar bond measure to create bart even though marin and san mateo counties had pulled out over cost santa clara county pre-tech boom didn't see the need in the case of marin. there was no interest in building a second deck on the golden gate bridge for the bart trains, technically the vote for the bart bond failed to win by the required margin in contra.
