morning for the man accused for the ghost ship fire in oakland. 36 people died. he served years in prison after pleading no contest to involuntary manslaughter. reporter: today's proceeding is a probation hearing. the alameda county prosecutor saying derek violated probation, and a petition filed to send him back to prison. his attorney and wife are defending him. he could go back to jail after serving time for the deadly ghost ship fire. it is a crime for a person on probation to own or possess ammunition. authorities didn't find a gun but a bullet. his wife says it was in on an altar she made to honor those who died from gun violence. court papers say police found a machete and 10 archery bows with

50 arrows. she says she uses a machete to cut back the brush behind their house and they enjoy shooting targets with their kids. >> he was a manager of the baseball team and his kids were playing. he had bats. just for sport. i wasn't going to hit anyone. it is a dangerous weapon. you are next felon with a dangerous weapon, you have your baseball bats. it is as absurd as that. reporter: derek saying i would never knowing having any weapons of harmon my home, especially after what happened. the das office is declining to comment because it is a pending case. an update on that hearing today. reggie: your health, one of the main aspects of building a better bay area, san francisco

wants to fight the spread of monkeypox. currently 800 confirmed cases here. a pop-up clinic is opening today. reporter: a disproportionate level of cases have been found among gay men of color. san francisco is working to connect in a different way by bringing them somewhere other than this traditional daily clinic at zuckerberg general. the department of health has partnered with an organization dedicated to eliminating health disparities in the black and marginalized communities of san francisco to offer a pop-up clinic today at their location on cesar chavez street, noon to 3:00. they launched the monkeypox

vaccine equity pilot program in hopes of boosting outreach to those groups. the goal is to get vaccines to smaller venues with the help of trusted community-based organizations. >> cdc will provide them with vaccine, materials and tech assistance needed to realize local interventions and it will help us learn what works to get vaccine services to populations. we have allocated 10,000, up to 50,000 doses of vaccine for the smaller equity interventions. reporter: hope is on the horizon. new cases in the u.s. down nearly 50% since early august. if you are still looking for a vaccine, zuckerberg general will continue offering monkeypox vaccines all day today until
