south line of showers, downpours and thunderstorms. let's go up to the north bay where we have had the greatest number of thunderstorms. downpours reaching parts of marin, sonoma and napa counties. farther south around the bay shoreline communities and through the south bay and into the santa cruz mountains it got heavy downpours and strong gusting wind. current wind gusts ranging from 25 to 35 miles per hour. despite the localized intensity, this is a level 1 storm on the abc seven storm. expect showers and downpours, gusting wind, roadways and i will have more later. dion: sounds good. thanks. across the bay area the storm toppled trees and canceled events. abc7news reporter cornell barnard continues live team coverage in mill valley. you do not have your hood up anymore?

cornell: better now that where is my umbrella? it has been pouring all day today in the north bay. certainly took a lot of people by surprise. we are getting a break in the weather right now, but it has toppled trees, caused power outages, and chased a lot of people away from this long time a arts festival here in noe valley. >> came outcome my car is not damage, so i am happy about that. cornell: a sunday morning surprise in santa rosa. half of this tree splitting and toppling overnight, hitting a car. >> last night we had a lot of wind and it came down. cornell: the national park service shared this picture after wind down a tree on auditors hill. steady rain it driving treacherous. chp says it likely because to the driver of this car to spin out, strike a tree and roll over on whitehall lane. two people were sent to the hospital with injuries.

the storm caused about 4000 pg&e customers in napa to lose power after a utility pole sparked. >> the dog started barking at 1:00, i looked out the window and something blew up on the telephone pole. cornell: at this church held sunday services in the dark. for its parishioners. >> if they are doing this to the service, the power went off, so we opened up the doors for the air to circulate and a little dark and so on, but we have been able to praise the lord. cornell: in mill valley a steady rain fell most of the day, leaving this festival all wet. >> we are going to probably let people get out before the next squall. cornell: heavy downpours forced to the arts festival to be scaled down quickly. >> this is pretty tragic, considering the physical impact, obviously.

truck spun out of control. you can see their crews were able to clean up the road nearly four hours later. some people are without power tonight. this is the pg&e outage map, where you can track everything live. if you thousand customers are without power in the south bay as we mentioned. there are outages for several hundred north bay customers, as well as smaller outages in san francisco and over in the east bay. and a reminder, you can get live updates on the weather every hour on our abc bay area streaming app. just downloaded now for free to monitor those conditions. shifting to sports, the 49ers won their home opener against the seahawks, but starting quarterback trey lance suffered season ending injuries. sports anchor chris alvarez joins us with the latest and it is just a bummer. chris: it really is. 49ers starting cornerback trey lance carted off the field with a right angle injury. kyle shanahan confirming that he did suffer a season ending

injury that will require surgery tomorrow. it happened on this play in the first quarter. trey at running a quarterback power, the option, and he goes up the middle and unfortunately gets his right ankle rolled up underneath. cannot see it there, but it was bad. a test was put on hisnd a he was carted off the field, clearly in a lot of pain. a broken right angle and he will have season ending surgery tomorrow. both teams say they are sending well wishes. jimmy garoppolo takes over as quarterback and coach shanahan frustrated for trey but hopeful for the rest of his career. >> it is unfortunate for him. we are really hurting for him and hoping to see a lot of him this year, so to have that bad of an injury where you cannot come back from it, we feel for him. but if anyone can do it, it is him. chris: football can be a brutal game, but this is why the 49ers brought in garrotte below, the insurance policy could extended highlights and reactions, you can watch it here and what he said about the guys.

extended reaction coming up in just a couple of minutes. dion: thanks. a major art delay left riders frustrated. services brought to a halt after 11:00 this morning. two trains broke down, one in west oakland and the other one nearly the 12 street station. service was stopped in the transbay tube. >> taking the subway to the airport. but it seems like we are just waiting around to see what is going to happen. if we are going to be able to get across. dion: this video shows the train telling one of the disabled trains. service was restored nearly two hours later, but delays persisted until just about 30 minutes ago. moving on to developing news out of puerto rico where hurricane and fiona made landfall this afternoon. the entire island is now without power. the territory is about as prepared as it can be an officials learned lessons from

hurricane maria back in 2017. the dominican republic is also expected to see a lot of rain. a man was found dead yesterday in the france caribbean island of guadalupe bay which was hit by rain and flooding. speaking in armenia, house speaker nancy pelosi condemned the recent deadly attacks. she led a congressional delegation to the capital after an outburst of fighting with neighboring azerbaijan killed more than 200 troops. >> in person, to contend with azerbaijan's recent attacks. make no mistakes, this is unacceptable. much needed peace agreement. dion: the delegation includes bay area representatives jackie and anna. speaker pelosi told the armenian parliament that the u.s. will be closely monitoring the situation between the two x soviet countries. which have been locked in a decades old conflict.

dion: taking a live look now at westminster hall in london where it is about 2:00 in the afternoon. mourners have just a few more hours to see queen elizabeth's casket as it lies in state ahead of her funeral. as you can imagine, securing the funeral for the royal family, the 500 royals of state and the public is an enormous task. jim dolan is in london where he talked with a former member of the security detail about the complex operation. jim: it london on the night before the funeral of the queen. police escorted motorcades filled with dignitaries from around the world. there are so many world leaders here. scores of them wrote in chartered buses.

the streets are riddled with people hoping to see, but most of the people here tonight will not be here tomorrow. >> tuning in to witness the morning of the queen as a citizen. jim: that may be the wisest choice. simon morgan spent a career protecting queen elizabeth on her security detail. he says the biggest threat tomorrow probably is not to the members of the royal family, but to the thousands of people waiting to see them. >> when you are looking at what the threat is and who it is against, it will be against the general public. jim: stopping cars and trucks blocking streets, that is the easy part. that does eliminate an important threat. but the idea here is to let people in, so that they can experience the funeral procession of the queen and think of the boston marathon bombing. think of individual subway bombings in new york stopping

a high school gym as the quake hit. it because the ceiling to collapse in the middle of a volleyball match, but somehow, everyone made it out safely. the earthquake caused the collapse of one bridge and damaged multiple others. four people were rescued after being trapped under the rubble of a building. the u.s. geological survey has warned of tsunami waves along coastlines. for us, the news of the day when it comes to whether it is the excessive rain and it does not look like it is letting up anytime soon. >> there is much immediate rainfall, if you are caught in a downpour, here is a look at what is going on on radar. in the north we got an outbreak of thunderstorms and lightning flashes. coming down south a little bit, you can see a line of showers and heavy downpours from cloverdale through parts of eastern sonoma county, over into napa county, down through vallejo and through the east bay shoreline into the south bay.

it is wet in those areas. we see those downpours. it is windy just about everywhere, gusts right now ranging from 25 to 35 miles per hour. here is a view of top -- dark clouds over san francisco. current temperature readings are in the mid 60's. san francisco, oakland, palo alto, san jose, santa clara, half moon bay. where it was dark and dreary a minute ago we've got breaks in the clouds now. blue skies showing through. mid 60's in santa rosa. at 70 degrees in napa, concord and livermore and 68 at fairfield. one mart live view from emeryville, you can see raindrops. the rain will continue along with wind through tomorrow. slippery roadways for the morning commute tomorrow. give yourself some extra time and drive slowly if you are going to be out there. showers will tape off tuesday and wednesday with warmer weather on thursday and friday. this level 1 storm is still producing some showers and heavy downpours and will continue to do so through tuesday as we take a look at our abc 7 exclusive storm impact scale.

gusting wind will taper off overnight but we develop tomorrow and the slippery roadways will be with us for a few days. here is the forecast showing the storm breaking up into scattered showers after midnight tonight, but showers will redevelop and re-intensified late tomorrow going into the late afternoon and evening hours. by tuesday evening, we will be looking at rainfall totals between half an inch and an inch, but in the north bay and over to fairfield, some locations may receive over two inches of rain. overnight, low temperatures will be generally in the upper 50's to low 60's. highs tomorrow, mid sixes of the coast, low 70's around the shoreline and mid to upper 70's in the inland east bay. here is the accuweather 7 day forecast. put another one at ranking for tuesday, even though the showers on tuesday will be widely scattered and not very widespread at all. not heavy, but still the remnants of the current storm. wednesday, slight chance of a lingering shower. thursday, autumn begins at 6:04 p.m. along with sunny skies and warmer weather.

the warming pattern under a bright sunny skies will continue through next weekend. >> now, abc 7 sports with chris alvarez. chris: 49ers starting quarterback trey lance was carted off the field today with a right ankle injury. after the game head coach kyle shanahan confirming lance broke his ankle and it will require season-ending surgery tomorrow. 49ers home opener against seattle, lance confident coming out of the tunnel pregame. then late first quarter, here is the play. running quarterback option power, what everyone a collet, trey tackled and the ankle gets caught up in the pilot. he will have surgery tomorrow, out for the rest of the season, disappointment on the fans in his face. you can see. looks like he is holding back tears as he is carted off. that means as he gives the thumbs up to the fans, jimmy garoppolo is back at quarterback. in first full drive, jimmy finds ross dwelley, 38 yards, reveling in the end zone. 13-0 san francisco. jimmy fired up late second
