ryan: abc 7 spoke with students about the incident. they said they are shaken up about what happened. the video shows why it was hectic for kids of all ages. new video shows the moments kids ran out of oaklands bay tech charter school after gunshots at the complex. law enforcement can be seen in the hallway with guns drawn in an effort to get kids out of school safely. police chief lerone armstrong said more than 30 shots were fired in close proximity to run still high school and the campus. the shooting left six people injured. at the police chief says it is connected with other episodes of violence in oakland. >> we believe this is related to ongoing conflicts in our city that has driven violence throughout our city. we believe this incident is group and gang-related. ryan: oakland has seen a lot of violence recently. this time it involved shooting near a school. the police chief believes at

least two shooters and an accomplice were involved. no arrests have been made yet. they are still investigating. he says the six people shot were not the intended targets. >> among the victims is an ousd carpenter that was installing a glass display case when the shooting happened. luis piña spoke to the worker who said one of the bullets grazed him in the head. >> from his hospital bed, jason arbuckle is speaking from the first time. he went from working on a trophy case inside this oakland school to hiding from gunfire. >> about 12:45, i know because i called 911, gunshots started. i heard, pop, pop. i dipped to the ground really quick. as i was dipping down, two more

shots went off. one of those grazed me. it went in my head as i was turning. it came out front under my scalp. one of the student said, man, you are bleeding everywhere. >> jason remembers hitting the floor. he found refuge in a bathroom. >> a teacher came by and i said, i have been in here and i have been shot. he said, we have a classroom with other people that have been shot. they took me in. >> he recalls walking into a classroom with a teacher. he said at least one of the students there had been shot. >> the guy took me under the sink to try to get it cleaned up. then he started taking something and tearing it to wrap my head up like a bandage. >> jason now thinks that teacher for wrapping a cloth around his

head to stop the bleeding. >> it was not my time to go yet. >> as he recovers, he cannot stop thinking about the five coworkers next to him. one of them was also shot. >> i am worried about a coworker that i know was shot, possibly, through the abdomen. i am worried -- more worried about him than me. i know i am fine. >> doctors told arbuckle they were unable to remove all the bullet fragments from his head. there is a chance he might have to undergo surgery in the future. he was released from the hospital yesterday. as for the coworker that was shot, the family has not given an update on the condition. two candidates vying to become alameda's new district attorney shared their thoughts on the shooting. pamela price and terry wiley took part on a candidate forum on his zoom yesterday and addressed gun violence across the county. >> there is a certain feeling of

jobina: explosive new details rocking two neighborhoods in the south bay. rudsdale four victims of cell --julian: four victims of sex trafficking rescued in san jose. jobina: amanda del castillo leo spoke to the neighbors waiting for the action. amanda: residents along bassitt street recently found this flyer, a plea to report suspected prostitution to police.

it is an alert that this neighbor says only highlighted months of suspicious activity. >> they had made changes to the entryway to make it easier to find. we had coming and going, cars parked across the street, all men, all hours of the day and night. amanda: san jose pd thursday confirmed thursday this location was part of two residential brothels, units searched by the human trafficking department tuesday. >> they had bullhorns, swat teams, there were armed police throughout the area announcing for tenants and residents to stay in the building until they cleared it. amanda: between the bassitt street location and another on winterberry way, four women were rescued and provided resources. according to sj pd, two men suspected of running the brothels were taken into custody. one was arrested for an unrelated outstanding warrant for commercial sex trafficking. officers commended residents for their role in keeping their

and ready to help. julian: new developments in a story concerning the poisoning of several people at a senior living facility in san mateo. a second lawsuit has been filed against atria park. the children of 93-year-old trudy maxwell are suing for negligence and wrongful death. maxwell died after being served dishwashing liquid instead of juice. another residence, 90 three-year-old peter schroeder also died. -- 93-year-old peter schroeder also died. in a statement yesterday atria said "our hearts remain with the residents affected, their families, and loved ones." the facility is working with the department of social services to reviews incident and they say it was an accident. jobina: at last weekend's portola music festival in san francisco, a woman says she was trampled saturday when concertgoers pushed through a barricade. you see multiple videos at the p or 80 side showing people pushing into the vendor -- into

the venue. samantha montauk tells abc 7 she was caught in the middle. >> the metal barricade fell over. people were stepping all over me. like dominoes, everyone was tumbling. people were stepping on my hair, my arm. i was not able to get up. jobina: she says she got hurt and has a huge bruise on her arm and leg. on sunday the promoter called the incident minor and said there were no injuries. that is something that upset samantha. >> i'm still not able to use my arm. i am having to miss work. i was really frustrated to read that they commented there were no injuries or anything like that. jobina: we reached out to the promoter again, but have not heard back. julian: next week is fleet week. more than one million people are expected to converge on san francisco. the warning is to plan ahead and take public transportation if you plan to come to the city.

will exhaust all options to figure out what happened on the campus. i will not speak to any evidence recovered. dan: oakland unified school district spokesperson denied it. >> is not correct. dan: former oakland city council president ignacio de la fuente tells me that rudsdale school officials have a history of failing to protect students and oakland unified has not done enough either. >> the school district to have their own police and they threw them out because they did not want officers in campuses. these things happen because we allow them to happen. dan: my sources tell me this is part of a distorting pattern by officials at the school, a lack of cooperation with police, especially after one troubling incident a few weeks ago. >> a kid was stabbed, bleeding, pistol whipped. a gun was recovered from the school, yet, the school district did nothing.

dan: in august, a student was stabbed and pistol whipped at the school. my students taught matt -- my sources tell me rudsdale officials obstructed the investigation. they recovered to the attack but kept it from police four hours before turning it over in a ziploc bag. sources say that they would not let police interview students, saying they had it under control. the news is frustrating for parents whose children lived through the shooting yesterday. mario warez's --juarez's son is a 15-year-old student at bay tech. >> he is so innocent. he thought it was firecrackers. i wish it was firecrackers. jobina: sources say that police know who the suspect is from the previous event and they are trying to determine if they are
